I’ve been waiting for this episode so we could finally figure out why Zed keeps exploding 😂
Seriously! I’ve been trying to piece it together as I’ve watched other videos but nobody really asked because, well, Zed is Zed. He just kinda explodes sometimes.
Glad I’m not alone in wanting to answer the mystery.
Haha, same!!!😂
Ikr I saw it in mumbo grian skizz and Joel's vids
Welp still waiting ig
So glad you got around to enlarging your orifice, fitting a whole 4 Sheep in it too? Just glorious
_looks at the camera knowingly_
"MWAH! Goodnight everybody!"
...or since my subtitles randomly seem to be in polish today, "Dobranoc wszystkim!", even though that'd be more appropriate for a Keralis video...
Can't wait until he tries getting a Creeper to explode in his hole
@@WackoMcGooseI can hear Yakko
Yo, you should name the sheep dinnerbone! This way, they look as if they are walking on the underside!
And keep them from suffocating!
@@vixengypsyeven if the model is upside down, the hitbox for the sheep actually stays the same.
@@binchamers Thanks for that info! My brain thought upside down would solve the issue.
EDIT: It would still look cool AF.
@@vixengypsy definitely, I agree!
@@vixengypsy Either way, the sheep won't suffocate at all. They hit their head on the ceiling, but you'll only take suffocation damage if you're riding another mob too close to the bedrock.
I am absolutely floored with this game! Definitely the most fun cobblestone generator I’ve ever seen
You. You know what else is floored? The cobblest-
"I should shout 'THIS IS SPARTA!' every time I push one of these guys down." *Immediately proceeds to push all 4 down without saying it once :P*
love the changes to the orifice! hermits are going to be lining up to join the orifice network now!
also feel like this is the only way anyone should do a cobble generator now. great work Zed!
But can you build an infinite cube that triggers in the solid state to a TNT dupper? In other words, self-healing crystals.
Yes, luminous wholesome Hermit mouths. 👏 someone tells him it's a black hole 🕳 beyond the gated luminous barrier, it gets much more difficult to recover the deeper you go.
Get the lost sheep before the Hole self heals!
Hey Zed, in addition to some of the other great ideas for your game.
1. No floor regen mode. As you break blocks, they don't regen till the game is over. Fall and your game ends sooner.
2. Did that Creeper just fart? Mode.
Get tipped arrows (could use fletcher's) dispensers hooked to sculk and randomizers.
As you run around, dispensers have a random chance of shooting tipped arrows. The tipped arrow hits creeper. If the creeper blows up, it will leave a lingering cloud. It's up to you if you have only good only bad or a mix of all kinds of arrows.
I personally would mix, as you could have turtle master. Speed. Harming. Regen, poison, harming and more. Then you have to choose, do you risk seeing what the "fart" will be? And maybe it helps you. Maybe it won't.
3. No pick mode. Mixed with no regen floor. More points are based on how few blocks are left as the floor.
Put a glass roof on it and can have other hermits watch from above.
I saw a suggestion regarding skeletons and possibly getting records. Could use the records as more points.
Could also have records extend time. It could get interesting if combined with no regen floor.
Thanks for the laughter. I hope you have a great day!
Imagine combining this with Cubfan's Total Chaos!
Hi Zedaph, instead of using Glowstone in your "Orifice" how about using the purple Frog Lights. It'll make your "Orifice" match your color so it's easier to figure out which "Orifice" is yours
A 2 player versus mode would play out very interestingly. You wouldn’t only have to spleef the creepers; you’d have the other player to worry about as well! Last to die wins!
This is orificially my fav. game-ified survival feature
What if you put some water over your orifice? I think a moist orifice would greatly reduce damage, particularly from smashing, and it makes inserting anything in also much smoother and safer.
Because it would reduce kinetic damage from smashing your face against the wall, and if anything falls in it can still swim out in the water.
+
Additionally, a way to drop down creepers to explode in his orifice would be a nice way to notify other Hermits of its location
@@StuffandThings_ Exploding inside his orifice may not be very safe though. It could even damage the orifice, especially the sheep.
I definitely see potential for this being a multiplayer game. Imagine if in order to spleef your opponent you had to knock creepers at them so they explode (NO PICKS ALOUD). You would have blast protection on so you don’t die from any explosions, and a knock back sword to knock the creepers into your opponent. Oh, and a flint and steel of course. I think for this to work the creepers would need to drop randomly throughout the arena, so as long as that isn’t too hard, this could be a cool idea.
I get that you made this farm for getting cobble specifically, but regular stone is a bit faster to mine, which could help the game. You could always provide a non-silk pick for this game if regular stone works out better.
For scoring you could do: points = (gunpowder ^ 2) - (Cobble + Basalt). This would increase score for those that are able to both more accurately spleef and for those that are able to last longer on the play field. Plus it makes it funny when people receive negative a negative score for only getting blocks without any spleefs. XD

Yet another wonderful twist on a silly game, cannot wait for this- and seeing more of your orifice!!
In Creef mode, you should build up a "spank bank" of mobs in minecarts. That way, you can have a steadier supply of mobs to regularly drop into the game orifice at the desired rate rather than having to wait for them to splash down into the streams and float their way in.
4 mobs spread around 4 dropholes might be reasonably challenging, and if you don't know which hole they will each drop from it could make for some wild times.
Another thing is that while the floor is regenerative there's still always the chance the player gets dropped below. Having a way out would probably be a great idea.
I have a feeling once you get the cats in, you are going to get more creepers than you can handle. You should put a redstone controlled light on each spawning platform to control how many creepers can spawn to make a "difficulty" setting for players.
Great idea! You could split the collection system in half, and make it competitive by players trying to spleef on their half of the floor. I look forward to seeing what it looks like when the cats are in!
1:29 "this feels so much bigger than a 1 by 1"
_No wonder, here's why:_ the player hitbox is 0.6 blocks wide, so to fit through the hole you have to fit the center of your hitbox within a 0.4 x 0.4 block area in the center of the -hole- orifice. (that's only 16% of the 1x1 block area)
By extending to a 3x3, you now have a 2.4 x 2.4 block area of wiggle room. That's 36 times the previous wiggle area!
It looks 9 times as big, but it acts and feels 36 times as big, that's quite a difference!
I choked on my coffee and cried out loud laughing because of the whole creepers are friendlys and then the "Get away from me you Freak!"
I made a game similar to this a few months ago, but i called it "Creeper Tennis" and the goal is for two players to whack creepers at each other with either wooden swords with knockback 2, or Punch 2 bows and health arrows to make sure the creeper survives. you stand on opposite sides of the court, and either try to get the creeper to blow up the opponent, or spleef them.
creeper spleef sounds like crazy fun in muliplayer! trying to both blow other peeople up and collect/hoard as much gunpowder as possible before timer goes off would be way more fun, especially with like 5 or 6 people in that chamber!
An idea to "light up" the arena: place flowing lava at some points around it. It should keep everything nice and lit, and it's not affected by explosions.
LOVE the shift to orifice! MUCH more wholesome! 😂😂
Obstácles, creeper acumulation that deploys after a certain time or points. Time based Beacon power up on certain scores. Activation and deactivation of the healing floor in certain timeframes so that you have to strategise what to mine and not mine. Tnt power up at random intervals or tnt dropping at random intervals. Potion droppers with different efects. Other mobs. Gard the chicken mode, where you have maintain a chicken alive for a certain amount of time. Charged creepers. Cobwebs. Difficulties with different pickaxes. Vs mode try to drop another player
spleeper suggestion: when you press the button, it diverts the creepers to the waiting area with a gate between it and the spleef floor. creepers are counted to determine the volume of creepers per game. (once the cats are placed, you can figure out rate and appropriate game length.) gate drops creepers in with fixed or increasing wave sizes, or at regular intervals with varied wave size. potential to drop the next wave if you haven't cleared the first. also, 2 player versus potential: spleefer stays the same, but the other person can choose when to open the gate.
If you made your hole 5x5 you could make the outer rim be glowstone at y=0. Still out of the void but the bottom face of the glowstone would be very bright under there.
This thing that you built, reminds me of Minecraft Story Mode, where creepers were falling from the tubes and cobblestone smashed them. But one of the creepers blown up that cobble.
8:16 "this is going to help digging a hole bunch" 😂
You could put a timer on the rocky-block generator clocks to only turn the generation on every now and then to make the terrain more perilous and more spleef-like
57 times is WAY more than hole some. It's basically the whole sum!
#maths
For timing Creeper Spleef, maybe you could make one of those timers that puts an item into a container at regular intervals? And have that system linked to the Creeper Spleef button so it toggles both the water dispenser and the timer clock on/off. Then you can count up the items in the container to see how long you played.
Or you can always just decide on a predetermined time limit per round and set up a clock (again linked to the Spleef button) with noteblocks to signify start/stop and maybe even a little theme song for during. If there's a hermit who does noteblock music, that could be a collab opportunity...
(I don't do redstone but I assume these are things that are possible based on what I've seen 😅)
You could set up a holding chamber that deposits creepers in different positions, and a bit more evenly, so that they don't fall in a big clump.
Spleefing the camera was pure genius.
If you really felt compelled to mark out directions in the void, you could break bedrock in a line towards the destination and use a specific theme block at bedrock level along with the lighting glitch.
So going to Tangos base you would have like a redstone block in the bedrock layer with a torch on top maybe every 100 blocks, and you'd see a glowing redstone from the bottom.
But it would be a ton of effort for something you could also do with coordinates on a sign at the start.
I believe you can drop a shulker in a minecart down into the void, drop a boat ontop of the shulker and it'll provide a solid platform to stand on
Yet another mind bogling game/farm. Idk how you are not running out of ideas. You are a mad scientist.
Skeletons in the walls to add records to possible loot and add another element of combat in dodging.
Ideas/Suggestions for Creeper Spleef
1) Have the creepers come into the arena in "waves" by redstone powering a trap door in the hole in the ceiling. You could control this by using a bit of string and an observer with some redstone logic to detect how many creepers are on the trap door. So, something like "easy mode = 2 creepers per wave" but it ramps up to "nightmare difficulty = 8+ creepers per wave" (Oh, and FYI the new Crafter is great for making a counting machine by using two of them, one to craft an ingot into nuggets, and the othet to craft nuggets into an ingot)
2) Player Feedback - When a creeper enters the arena, play a sound via a noteblock. Then, have a different sound and a copper bulb/light turn on for a few moments when any new gun powder has been collected. You could pull a comparator signal from the chest that the hopper minecart empties into for that purpose.
As always, thanks for sharing and making such amazing content! Love your videos and fun ideas!! Thank you!!!
You should add a potion dispenser that randomly splashes the creepers before they drop in, that way if they explode, they leave a cloud of random potion effects
If you had a platform below the regenerating basalt/cobble platform, assuming there were say, 20 creepers already up there, you could stand under with another player and mine blocks above them trying to drop a creeper on them. I guess it's kind of like minesweeper without the numbers, just stabbing in the dark!
I think that you should secretly put similar hole to some other hermit's base, arrange some meeting(s) with them and keep suddenly appearing at their base until they find out.
Zed you can make a line of sheep under the void to make it easier to see. You just drop them down the hole and walk above the bedrock, then you just tie it to a pole
Put more variety in the generated floor. You can generate normal stone as well, which is practically an insta-mine. You can also include a random chance to hit a moss block with bone meal to randomly turn some of the blocks to moss. If you combine this with a limitation in your pick (maybe a stone pick, maybe an iron one?) then you are going to have to really utilize strategy based on how long it takes to break blocks, and maybe also save your durability for hard times while trying to punch ordinary moss most of the time to stretch your game out as long as possible.
for creeper spleef yo could turn off the auto floor so that you will have a finite amount of blocks for both you and the creepers to stand on. this would also mean that you would have to replace the block creepers stand on with something not as easy to break to prevent the creepers falling and instantly dying. this allows the creepers and you to play spleef and have fun times together!
I don't remember if you were part of the boat-fishing shenanigans but it could be fun to have a lot of people fishing rod a boat, have the boat go into the hole, and then absolutely launch them into the stratosphere from *below bedrock*
Gold pick is the timer. It mines faster for spleefing. And could get you to make a pigman game so you can craft the picks.
yeah glowstone has a more gold like color to them
if you don't mind tips, ochre froglights go well with them too
Maybe put a proper on /off switch for creeper spleef; it'll open the hole in the ceiling for the creepers, possibly close the door so you can't escape, you could maybe put it in an obvious place on the ceiling so you can hit it easily but it also won't get exploded
I think it's the first time I've ever wanted to play spleef
I love how much the hermits are maturing with their audience xD
Once hermitcraft updates to the new update, you can attach a lead to a boat, so you could make a hanging boat highway in the void
Use stone but non silk touch pick. And turn the timers down so there are holes to avoid. Maybe add 3 materials to the floor. Stone, cobble and bassalt
Zed! It is possible to push a Shulker down into to void and then place boats ontop of them. You will be able to build a platform you can stand on in the void
17:21 You missed the opportunity to name it the Dip Down Of The Day
What about a barrier on a random timer that sometimes bunches them up a bit by blocking the path? For a bit of an extra challenge when they all come through together
Ideas for improvements:
- Random slowness or speed (players or creepers)
- Random drop-zones for creepers, with ability to have magazines to create more of a wave-effect
- Perhaps a haste beacon (also randomly activated?)
Thanks for making me spit out my coffee in laughter in the first 30 seconds of this video. Keep up the good work!
Is there way to make the creepers fall at a specific rate? Like a piston "hatch" on the ceiling, the more time you stay there, the more creepers fall at once... it sort of becomes a survival game instead of a race against time.
Idea: Maybe set up dispensers on side of the spleef arena with arrows of swiftness/slowness/leaping and maybe a shulker or two to shoot out levitating at both creepers and players.
I think it would be nice if the cobble and basalt were completely randomly distributed across the floor, but thats a bit harder to wire up
Creepin' so hard they don't just hit the floor, they fall through it
An additional challenge would be randomising the drop locations of the creeper from the ceiling every now and then!
You could totally do a multiplayer version where you each have snowballs for knockback and a flint and steel and the goal is to get the creepers to blow up the blocks under your opponent. In that mode the creepers wouldn't really be farmed tho
Jokes like the one at the beginning of this episode is why I keep coming back here. Thanks Zed for being your quirky self!
Fill your orifice with water, it will help you go in and out without hurting yourself, and the chorous fruit will be useful again.
Zed unknowingly created a drinking game, where every time he says hole you take a shot
Really cool idea! What if you could play against other players, maybe with a bit slower floor regeneration?
Zedaph, your creepers won't walk off the trapdoors very efficiently if you don't give them a "ledge" behind on the other side to pathfind to. A single block wide, 2 high, will do.
Add some random obsidian blocks on top of the floor to make more difficult to navigate around maybe
You might consider channeling your inner Cub and throw some fireworks in there. That might up the challenge
A bit of glass on the ceiling could help to anticipate a creeper drop
You should change the cobble to normal stone so that way the haste 2 beacon allows you to break it as fast as the basalt and just replace your pick for one without silk touch.
add a string and a note block to ding as creepers enter the spleef zone so you know more are coming.
i think the best way to play this is just like in the zedcraft server, spleef but instead of using pickaxes, punch them with a sword and try to spleef another player so it can work with multiple people!!
1:03 Zed looks like mechanic under the car :DD
25:32 Scores culd be based on how many gunpowder there is and then Idk redstone'ife It so lamps show how many scores you have
For the game, use an iron pickaxe? Will make it harder and more dispensable , maybe you can go till the pickaxe is gone?
I really *dig* this game! This episode was a *bang*er!
Given the way the farm pushes creepers to the edge, it would make sense if they came thru into the game in two or four places rather than one. But, the main fix I think is the cats and the timer, the game will feel much different then. I do think dieing and running back in is allowed within the timer.
Time the game with a calibrated sculk sensor counting the bangs. The more gun powder per bangs is the winner.
Or maybe - More buckshots per bangs gives more bangs for a buck.
(Trying to avoid mentioning bangs, bucks and orifices in the same sentence). To creepy! 🤣🤣🤣
I don’t know if you know this, but if you blow up shockers while they fall under the void they freeze there and leave you with a platform to stand on. It’s really complicated though. I don’t know if it would be worth it.
it might be good to use string and lights to detect and show when a creeper is about to drop down
You could use Allays to pick up the materials that don't fall through and then make a musical tune out of the noteblocks they deliver to. Add counters for allays and then your scoring would be allays vs player(s)
Make the block directly below the creeper chute obsidian, currently you just have to keep mining it for a perfect score 😂
Of all things to call the hole, of course he picks the orifice.
Banners could Potentially go below the build limit by placing on the edge. But I haven't tested it
getting other hermits to play this will be a blast
you could make a stone generator instead of a cobble generator and then mine it without silk touch to get the cobble and the speed is faster mining stone than cobble with the haste effect.
For the orifice, could you hang banners on the lowest block so they hang below the bedrock?
They could be your subway markers
This is such a weird way to do a cobble gen. If I recall correctly the amount of time it takes to make a block is always the same so you could just use a clock. and create many blocks in parallel instead of one and push it over.
with the... orifice, i believe someone was able to get shulkers and stuff down into the void. don't remember who, and it was really difficult, but that might help signal your... orifice.
If you turn the cobblestone generator into a stone one then the mining time would be the same as basalt. If you want to have then cobblestone just use a non silk touch pickaxe.
Couldn't you make the walls near your orifice a water curtain to stop fall damage? Also would help keep things clean down there, which is always a bonus.
I mean you _could_ make it a music disc farm aswell.. :D
so far this is my favorite game you have made
Spleefer. Spleef-a-Creeper. Creeper Spleefer (those last two aren't quite puns but I thought the word play was fun enough to share)
Having the creepers drop down from 5 points rather than 1. Else the player could just mine the block in the center when they drop for quick wins :)
Maybe you could make the creepers drop from multiple… orifices 😂. Or slowness potions that rain down from the heavens once in awhile
Add a carved pumpking for added difficulty.
Zedvance ideia: Breed a sheep in the void and take it to the surface without touching the ground.
