Following up from your first post on fog, this one compliments it nicely. I admit it's something I've not tried but I get it completely. Your remark about allowing the subject to fade into the distance might sound obvious, to me it wasn't - so thank you for that tip. Keep posting....I'll keep looking and continue spreading the site. Totally agree that fog can make dull subjects interesting. It also makes challenging subjects, such as woods, much easier to shoot because the contrast is so much reduced.
Great tips, I love shooting in the fog & mist. I cannot, however, master shooting in the rain - if you haven't already, could you do a video on this please?
Nice vid! Love the mood and the photos. When it's foggy what scenes do you look for? Do you look for unobstructed wider scenes (those are most the photos you showed) or more "crowded" views or do you just go with the flow and just capture whatever comes until food dissipates? To simplify the question is there any composition aesthetic you prefer to pair with the fog? (You talked about subjects fading and that could only be done with wide scenes). I think I'm talking gibberish 😂
I think the fog lends its self to a more minimal style, the fog creates a perfect negative space. But, it’s good to experiment with all styles while out there
