This was great. I do so much appreciate you hard work and the detail you provided. I have a question. I’m trying to detail out a model mkt train engine no 624. It is a SD 40-2. I am having trouble determining where the ditch lights are mounted. Not sure if it is on the deck or on the upper hood. Or if at all. Can you help me?
I have a question. When I played Trainz Driver 2, there was an option on the top right section to enable or disable ditch lights on a steam locomotive. How would that work in the modern day?
Steam locomotives have the same electrical system to support the use of ditch lights. Most do. Most steam engines used today in excursion service fall under antique equipment status
Concise and interesting, thanks for the information. Stay safe in the storm.
Thank you for watching....we got about 10 inches of snow here in Marion NC
This guy perfectly satiated my curiosity for ditch lights!
Thank you for watching
@@hnf1930 your welcome 😁
Thank you! I really liked that.
Thanks for the info 👍
I have a question, why the ditch lights flash?
Maybe?? Wig wag pattern more visible than steady burn, especially at intersections 👍
Great video! Thanks for the research and presentation.
How about the history of oscillating lights like gyralights, mars lights, etc?
I will make a video for that, thank you. THose were the very first safety lights. Thank you for the suggestion Hunter

I don't think MKT made it to the ditch light era.
