Many times father doesn't make a will and after him , married daughters file legal suit against their brothers to claim their share or partition the property. The house in which brothers reside may not be big to be economically partioned. Hence brothers are forced to sell that property and give share to their sisters. Girls, I would say are better off as they have right on husbands property and also can claim from fathers / brothers. Boys get or can can claim only their fathers property.
