I thought I'd put a fun twist on a good old-fashioned TH-cam classic. Here's a sneak peek into my Wedding Emergency Kit, and while it's a little extra, hopefully it'll help you figure out what you should (and shouldn't!) have in yours.

For the first aid kit you might want to add:
-Benedryl (especially for outdoor weddings, people travelling to the location may not know they have a problem with the local pollen)
-Chewable Aspirin (in case of heart attack)
    -Tums
    -Ginger candies (for nausea)
-Some kind of anti-diarrheal med, because wow would that suck!

    • @zanzan1284
      @zanzan1284 5 ปีที่แล้ว +42

Thanks Jamie, happy to help! =)
I have some general kit suggestions:
-My fiance has requested that I include shoe polish in my kit
      -Makeup setting spray
      -Lash glue!
-Twist ties (similar uses to zip ties, but no tools needed for removal)
      -Sharpie
-Edible glue (I'm making my own cake, so that's in my kit in case a fondant rose falls off or something)
-Pliers with wire cutter (a great multitool is even better)
      -Contact solution
-Anti-redness eye drops (make sure people don't touch their eyes with the nozzle or it won't be safe to share. They can also take the redness out of a sudden stress-zit!)
-Moleskin to prevent blisters (lots of people are likely to be wearing new shoes that they haven't really tested or broken in!)
      -Disposable nail files
      -Pacifier for screaming baby
-I love my hot glue gun, but you might have if covered with your Gorilla glue
-Ziploc bags (I always find uses for these! Imagine if a pearl necklace broke or something...)
-There's a throat spray called Singer's Saving Grace that would be great if you don't have time to make Throat Coat tea.
-IvyX towelettes remove poison oak/ivy/sumac oils before they cause a rash. I'm getting married outdoors in Cali, and I know there's poison oak at my venue; I will definitely be bringing these wipes!
-Disposable gloves (for first aid, or to avoid touching something icky. Non-latex ideally in case of allergies.)
      -Flesh-toned disposable pasties
-Underarm shields for sweat issues (probably more for the men, they aren't likely to work with most dresses)
      -Flashlight
-Chocolate (I assume this goes without saying. This is an emergency kit after all...)
-You should also put some business cards in there girl! Guests will notice when you save the day, and they'll want you in their corner for their own weddings!
Also, I have some random tips regarding items you already have:
-I recently started using tweezers to take tags off of clothing, and I love it! If the tag is still itchy or unsightly after being cut with scissors,
you can pull the tag's threads out with tweezers until there's nothing left of it. This is especially useful if the tag is attached by a structural seam that you don't want to damage!
-Masking/painter's tape can remove glue residue left by stickers. Just wrap some around your fingers and pat the sticky spot until all the glue is lifted.
-Hand sanitizer (alcohol based) can take ink off of skin and hard surfaces. Just rub on sanitizer to break up the ink, then wipe it off. (I like to label jars with Sharpie, and this takes it right off when I want to change my label)

Baby powder is a MUST! Works for oil stains as well. I had a bride somehow get oil on her dress train before the wedding.. Sprinkle, Wipe, and Poof its gone. Reapply as needed until the stain has absorbed..

I made a wedding kit for my best friend's wedding. I had much of the same stuff. I also had:
    1) A white candle, so the side could be rubbed on a zipper that sticks.
    2) a haircut cape and straws, so the bride could eat in her dress.
    3) a flashlight
    4) spare pantyhose

Ok I'm gonna suggest a TAPE that works the best and can replace most or all of your other tapes... Gaffers tape (musicians tape) works like duct tape (almost as strong) but a bit more pliable and will not leave marks or tear any signs. I use it for setting up my band. Taping down wires to a hardwood floor, rug, etc; hanging a banner on a wall...no damage!!

I’ve been a stage manager for theatre and had a similar kit. While watching this, I noted the thug I used to carry that I think would also be helpful in this kind of kit: 1) E6000 glue (it’s a little stronger than gorilla glue in certain circumstances) 2) Pepto Bysmal Tablets 3) Benadryl 4) Wrinkle Releaser Spray (also if you put a small pillowcase or other piece of fabric over the steamer head while using it, it will protect the garment from steamer stains) 5) Makeup Sponges 6) Another good throat tea is Yogi brand Throat Comfort 7) Bobby Pins 8) Hair Ties 9) Disposable hot-packs and braces/ace bandages (I get mine from Dollar Tree) 10) Invisible thread (I just found this at Joanns) 11) White Safety Pins (for quick bridal dress fixes or to hold multilayer trains in place as the bride walks down the aisle 12) Also, I prefer shot wipes to the tide pen personally. I find the stain is less likely to bleed/get worse and shout is what my bridal alteration friends use.

Also, this is going to sound awkward (but it’s less awkward if you have something to take care of it), individual packets of Miralax. We went to a wedding and one of my family members wasn’t used to that kind of food and was in severe pain by the end of the night. It became debilitating by the next day, if an important family member is traveling from out of town and experiences that it could cause a serious delay.

Heel pads are okay but don’t work nearly as well as CORK PADS which go underneath the ball of your feet. They’re super thin and super cheap (sometimes even free), your local shoe repair shop should definitely have some on hand. You just stick them in there and they push your foot up, you can even use multiple if needed. As a former cobbler I can assure you they work SO much better than the heel pads, those are pretty hit and miss and don’t last very long. I promise you they’re worth a try, I’ve had rave reviews on the cork pads. The only thing I will say is placement is super important when using for open toed shoes so they don’t start to peek out, that’s not a cute wedding look. You might also want to add fine-ish sandpaper (super fine won’t work as well as a kind of mid-grade) to your bag to use on the bottom of any brand new shoe whether for male or female, it’ll keep them from slipping and sliding all around.
