I remember seeing this bike in seaside heights NJ back then when we rode down there. I certainly miss seeing all the bikes from back then. This one is very clean.

It’s cool hearing that bike again. My dad drove a Virago 750 for probably 20 years straight.

Like I said yesterday, this black chrome was all the rage about this time. I still like the regular chrome. These were good bikes for the shorter ,smaller rider.Still trying to picture Ken in high school.. 😂

@@timtimdixon4979 yes, I'd still have had mine, but there wasnt musch left of it after that stupid 18 year old girl pulled onto the highway without looking both ways and me and my beautiful 82 maxim 750 cut the engine compartment off her P.O.S. Chevrolet! Now I did love the body parts I'm missing now, and I unfortunately did love the wife that left me afterwards, and I loved my career I lost due to the wreck and my disfigurement, but that bike is a wound that will never heal. And most reading bbn this cant ever understand, but not owning that bike and not being able to ride anymore tears my heart open EVERY DAMN DAY from the first minute I open my eyes until I close them at night. Especially now that my movement is so restricted, I miss the freedom I felt riding through the mojave desert with the air so hot it literally not burnt the hair off my arms! The bad weather and good as I rode that bike from the Pacific Ocean to the Atlantic in a week, onlybstopping for gas and to sleep. I kiss it so bad I cant stand it. And for those wondering, no I got no big settlement from insurance. All I got was 10k from her insurance. But bbn I did get 1.2 MILLION in medical bills! ....a bike isnt just a bike to us, it is freedom in its purest form. Sorry to be gloomy, but it's the truth. And the word "miss" doesnt even come close to the pain of the yearning I feel all the time. And I had my wreck in 1998. That's all I have yall....God bless America! 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

@@fredtracy1673 I hear ya bro! The only gripe I ever had about my yamaha was the shaft drive. It lost alot of torque compared to other chain drive bikes I had. It was my first and last shaft drive bike. God knows I loved everything else about it though! I still say it was the most beautiful bike ever made!

Hi seen so many videos about the starter it's a easy fix 1981 to 1983 for some reason viragos came with a different starter assembly but after 83 they put and up dated parts 84to the end of the 1996 all have the up dated starter systems so 81 82 83 have a cover for the stator and 84 85 has the same cover with the updated parts but 86 has a different cover put on will but it get more complicated but all thoughts part will work to but has the newer cover I have a 81 xv 920 rh with all the updated part from a 84 virago there's a silanoid the move the gear out and that wire connects to the silanoid that came on the bike the starter starts the bike prefect for 10 years

Question for you please, On the 1987 Yamaha 700cc, the starting system is a solenoid type operation, is that true or not ? And does it have a starting problem ? Grinding gears ? Please respond, thank you.

There is a yellow 1983 Maxim 750 4 cylinder for sale locally. It has a single piston front, and the same wheels as that Virago. I'm confused as to what that model is? The poster also said it was a midnight but it's yellow.

I had one used but once I realized how big and heavy it was for my skinny 19 year old self I decided to trade it for my first manual car 😂
