@@YoungShul I'd say the ship combat system alone is proof that there is never-before-seen levels of effort put into this game AT LEAST. If you don't think its solid proof sure but you simply cant deny the amount of effort put into the game and typically that is telling of a product's quality. So following common sense, there is circumstantial evidence.

Personally i think that it won't be as huge as everyone thinks it is (aka overhyped) but who knows. I mean even just looking at some of the visual effects they are beaten by the likes of deepwoken and yba imo.
They never said there will be no levels in the game they said it will be non-linear level progression meaning there is no set course to play the game. That means that we can level up in any kind of way and not just level up from just beating bandits like many other one piece games. I feel thats whats going to change many anime games on roblox.

I disagree with his point on linear progression. He pretty much restated what they said.
Rell Bros: "Linear progression is basically progression that makes you do the same thing over and over"
Him: "Linear progression is when there is only one thing you can do"
If you can only progress by doing one thing that implies that you are going to be doing the same thing over and over. The rell brothers literally said linear progression MAKES you do the same thing over and over which means there are no other options. Either way this was such a nitpicky thing to say and he still got it wrong.

He just stated a surface level conclusion that can be drawn from the Rell Bro's statement.

For Rellbrothers, say a game has a main leveling quest line that gives the normal amount of exp, there's also a side quest that gives a fraction of the exp. While you could grind the side quest, it would take forever and the game is essentially telling you to do the main quest. Meanwhile in the case of the other, there would only be the main quest. a game that makes you do the same thing could mean a lot of things while only one thing means there's only one thing.

1. that was definitely not the point being made, it was about changing the "click item icon --> click pick up" system to a "double click item icon" system which would honestly just be way faster and more comfortable to do in my personal opinion.
2. Just my opinion, but I feel like a key crafting system would be more boring and less immersive than lock picking. Lock picking also allows the thievery stat to be another way of progression, increasing the variety of ways to level up and get stronger.

It's infact overhyped but that's the only issue i see with it so far. Unique combat, open world, different ways of progression, crafting and etc, it has more upsides than downside so far. We got promised a progression without bandit beating, which already makes 70% of the game actually game and not what GPO and Blox Fruit has, which is leveling up by beating one wave or npcs or another, until after few days/weeks of progression you actually get to play the game. Also i really hope the mount system is not going to turn the game into one of those mmorpgs where you flex ur mounts and stuff lol. I suppose the game overal is gonna feel like Arcane Oddysey or Deepwoken. But yeah, the best game on roblox? Probably no. Best one piece game? Out of all one piece games we have, it probably would be the best when it comes out.

7:12 i actually think that the stat point system could probably be better, specifically a skill tree system would be nice, so that the player would have a limited amount of skill points that they could divide amongst different things (like theyre devil fruit moves/passives, and fighting style stuff, etc) so that if a player actually wanted to main a devil fruit, they could, but it would come at the cost of not having a really useful fighitng style, and vice versa, if they want to main a fighting style then they could do that but it would make their devil fruit less useful
although this is just a random idea i have, i actually don't think that a stat point system is bad, but i think that there should be a limited amount of points that you can put into things so that things are a bit more balanced imo

It's simple to understand and play, has a boring/painful but also addicting gameplay loop and most important of all, it's not some complex game where you have struggle for hours like an ant to get somewhere in the game. The game works because it appeals to a lot of players while not being too graphically intensive. TLDR: Easy to understand to play, Low resource intensive and gameplay loop that is repetitive but engaging enough.

I'm not hating on rell seas, I just don't think its my type of game. The reason why "Bandit Beaters" like blox fruits are successful, is because its simple. Blox fruits is a game anyone can pick up to enjoy, it can appeal to anyone whether they want to create a challenge or spend all their robux. Rell seas seems really complicated, an average player that won't commit their whole life to the game probably won't enjoy it much and stick around long. I feel like the only people who will actually enjoy Rell Seas all the way are people who open discord everyday.
To be honest Blox fruits is only popular due to the fact that it's on mobile and Xbox and majority of Roblox community is kids and kids don't really understand what a actual good game is in Blox fruits it's colorful and simple so ofc they would rather play that because that's all you can play vs like shitty haze piece

I don't think it's going to do nearly as well as people think it will. The reasons why Blox Fruits is doing so well are the same reasons why it sucks as a game. It's simple, repetitive but addicting, low resource intensive and appeals to everyone. If you make a game too complex, yes it's impressive, but you'll lose players along the way.

I feel like ship fights are getting way too overhyped. it is awesome that they are putting in a lot of detail on them, but most of the time you're not gonna really get into a ship fight anyways. Especially if you have a more effective way of travelling like flying or something. When people go onto the sea, it's usually to get somewhere, not to meat suck other players. Still a cool ship combat system though.
They already said ship combat is going to be a very important role inside of Rell Seas if you watched the movie fruits won't replace ships and lets just hope it stays that way

I think rell seas is overhyped AND overrated. The people who are hyping it are probably hyping it too much and the ppl who are hating on it are probably hating too much.
