Totally new at this. Using iMac with Mac Mouse. Unable to do basic taxiing to/from runway. I assigned letters to Left Brake and Right Brake (for differential braking) but doesn't work. Any other tips you can share with for a Mac user are appreciated.
Never used a Mac. Hac3nt rmtri3d differential braking on a keyboard either .. Wish you luck. Should,be OK but recomend a joystick/yoke when you can. Much better experience. You may or may not be able to use a controller. I do on my laptop but again not sure what controllers work on Mac either.
It's not possible! X Plane will only allow you to use the mouse to grab the controls. I'm not aware of any way to allocate keys to the control axisis. Many want to do it but not possible 😞
I am considering making the jump from MSFS 2020 to X-Plane. In regards to Keyboard shortcuts: My biggest complaint about MSFS is the lack of auto-pilot keyboard shortcuts that work properly using a Stream Deck XL or Plus. I normally fly the Airbus A320. Is all of the keyboard shortcuts implemented properly in X-Plane 12? Can I control the auto-pilot properly using the Keyboard shortcuts with out having to install an after-market plugin? I don't care about getting data back "into" the Stream Deck, I just want to use the Stream Deck knobs and buttons to control the auto-pilot(s) of the planes in X-Plane. I could care less about seeing the altitude on the Stream Deck. It's all about having real buttons and knobs that get away from having to use a mouse. Thanks for your help!
I hear ya! X-Plane seems to have some short comings too when it comes to keyboard shortcuts. I think. If either MSFS or X-Plane would join up with Stream Deck (duh!) and make it so we can control all of the cockpit knobs, dials, and buttons then we would be set! We don't need to see the feedback of the altitude, speed, etc. on the stream deck, but we need a way to easily, and without programming control the cockpit... Sigh... A program is only as good as the programmers are. I know, I'm one of them. Not for MSFS or X-Plane, but I have been there, done that. Thanks for the reply, Gunny!

That's actually not normal, I'd say. Think of the mouse as your arm/hands, and you would pull the controls back to go up! You would push forward on the mouse to push the controls forward, pushing the nose down. So It seems correct already. It's the way you think about it. :) You can reduce the sensitivity at the bottom of the menu, which could make it easier. Hope this helps 😀
how to control the plane without having to be forced to go into 3d cockpit and manually move the controller inside the plane, why can't there just be arrow keys for controlling? or WASD
@@Igfer I don’t think you understood my question lmao, I’m stuck inside the cockpit, I can’t control the plane without using the physical joystick that’s inside the plane, I have to take my mouse cursor on the joystick inside the plane and move it back a and forth with my mouse haha

Try "AK WASD 1.1.45" plugin, it allows the plane to be controlled with keyboard.

It should be essentially the same. Please note you cannot fly using keyboard on any system. A controller is required or the mouse. :) 😀

I use third person camera and is decent once you get used to it
