*I have so many tips to share on making groceries affordable… but what are YOUR best tips?! Leave them below!* 👇🏼
My tip is to wash the ends of your bananas, scraping the black ends a bit. This is where fruit flies lay their eggs. Our grocer told my mama and I've done it and never have fruit flies. (Wow Luke has gotten tall, eh? Handsome young man.). Came back to say I don't know how to do emojiis either.

So like mentioned…buy in bulk when certain veggie or fruit is at its peak (usually cheapest in stores), prep all (example a 10 lbs bag of onions) as you prefer (I dice 3/4 and slice 1/4 of what I bought), freeze layed out on cookie sheet then store in sealed freezer bags removing as much air as possible. For onions, 1 cup = 1 onion. Do peppers, onions, green onions, green and yellow beans, corn (cob or grains), beets. Some have to be blanched, some don’t - ypu save money and time in the log run and you always have some on hand!

Me and my partner usually shop at aldi and asda (we live in the uk). a few years ago, we used to get a weeks worth of food for just over £50 but now we spend anything between £65 -£70 a week. I am vegetarian so that does make things a little more expensive. Thank you for your kind words on my last comment about the loss of my family member, it means a lot ❤ I would love to see a fridge organization, we've not long brought a new fridge and it desperately needs help.
My grandma taught me when she picks things such as watermelons, cantaloupe, or other melons to look for a bunch of markings or yellow spots because that means it sat in the field longer. There's also little bug-bite looking spots that shows that bees or something were trying to get into it because they can tell it's sweet. Don't know how true that is but that's how I pick my melons and it hasn't failed me yet!
😂😂😂!!! I keep all of my condiments in the door of my fridge!!! I put like things together so I don't end up with 2 of the same thing open!!!! It helps me a lot!!! Thanks to you, I now prep all of my fruits and vegetables so they get eaten, not wasted!!! God Bless!!!
Yes, would love a refrigerator organizational video. I too try to organize mine. I even have felt shelf liners for the little spills and stuff. Just take them off throw them in the wash, hang dry and put them back. Less and quicker wipe downs. Its great in the beginning. But, then when it goes south it runs. Someday we'll find the perfect fit of organization. My condiments are all set in my drawer on the shelf. I've been told to do this so, when needed you just take the drawer off the shelf use it and put the whole drawer back. It helps with large meals and bbqs. I've thought of using a bin for them all and putting them on the shelf. Thanks for the tips. Great vlog 📷.

Hi Amanda! Great grocery haul & budgeting. I scour the weekly ads & shop multiple stores also. It definitely helps to have a meal plan & prep beforehand because who can afford to waste food with the crazy, ridiculous prices nowadays. The healthiest foods (i.e fruits & veggies)are always the most expensive unless you can hit great sales, which you definitely did! Great job. 🧁🧁🧁 Hope you & your family have a great weekend! 😊😊
I have a Friend that has a butlers pantry like you have and they have a mini fridge for all the condiments in they. It helps keep the big fridge more organize. Then they use the door space to put prepared fruit and veggie containers.

I had used lazy Susan’s in clients refrigerators for condiments, dressings, squeeze bottles, etc. works well with kids.

It takes a few minutes to look at the flyers and show the sales and in most cases you may have to visit 1 or more stores these days. Farmers Markets are great this time of year but it is important to have the list prepared and handy! I stopped going into the store randomly and now only go in for specific items. I love that you provide a lot of fruits and vegetables for the kids to snack on. Those package goods are not great with all the ingredients the have in them. I make a cake or cookies myself so I know what is in it but summer is best for fresh produce. I would love to see a fridge organization. I have purchased many of the things you use! All have been great! Need to check out Temu for those containers. Thanks, Amanda! Great video!
I don’t have winco or Aldi near me. I only have Rouses, Winn dixie and Wal-Mart. I have a Trader Joe’s about 30 minutes from me and I go there sometimes. Amazing looking haul, so healthy!
As far as watermelon, you want a deep yellow bottom (where it ripened on the vine - ground spot) and wide stripes and more rounded shape. Never fails me.
Going to make my weekend food list and get the pantry and fridge cleaned out!

I make Cream of Wheat for my Mom when she does not have dialysis. Make it with your choice of liquid, preferably plant based or whole milk, grated nutmeg, vanilla, and I either add a table spoon of maple syrup. Mix that coconut milk with some Oatmilk and the above. It will be 😋!!
What I started using to clean my grapes is just lemons!! I believe it works better, no chemicals in theLemons. Just cut one and soak it in a bowl with grapes and cool water, let it soak in the water a bit and then rinse as usual. I wash the majority of my fruits with with lemon or lime. I do the same with chicken. Cleanse off those chicken juices and will make your cooked chicken taste so much better just try it, you won't regret it.😊

I do the same thing. I pick out what meals to make for he week, and make my list accordingly. I've actually passed this on to my sister & sister-in-law, since they kept overbuying/overspending.

We are Gluten free and Kosher, I shop at Korger and Meijer and Aldi sometime Trader Joes. I am differently abled so I have to meal prep once a week. Any organizing videos or cleaning, grocery hauls are great too.

I was told one time that in order to pick a ripe watermelon is it it is yellow on one side then it has sat on the ground long enough to get ripe. So pick a watermelon that is yellow on one side. Good luck Amanda. Love your videos.

You should separate the onions from the potatoes . The onions off gas and will make the potatoes ripen quicker.

Kim from The WADS said she’s had luck with watermelon when you look for the watermelon that has the biggest size of where it was cut off the vine. That means it’s been on the vine longer and is generally sweeter. That’s how I’m going to do it 😂

🍓🍓🍓 I also do most of my shopping at Aldi first. I bring coolers and shop the day of their restocking. Then I put cold stuff in the coolers the run next door to our Kroger get what things that I either can't find at Aldi or don't like there. Sometimes I will switch it up and go to the Aldi in a different town close by and use the Walmart next door. But I get gas points when I shop at Kroger :)
OMG I love those Temu fruit and veggie containers!!! Looks like you can clean your stuff right in the container and then strain it right in the container!!! I want those!!

I’m a little spoiled (Insert cough here 😁)because of the hours & distance I drive back and forth from work my mom has told me “you get home too late to cook so just stop here for dinner before you go home”. However, I do like to try and return the favor and cook for parents on the weekends when I can & I do still have to have food in my house for breakfast, lunches, etc., and because I love to bake, so I usually shop at Aldi’s, Price Chopper, & Walmart. Man I haven't been to a Winco since I was a kid back home. I remember recycling pop cans an bottles at the machines outside. Now though is always Walmart. Harpe's & 10 Box I've been to a few times. Safeway I didn't even know was still around ..wow. Albertsons was another childhood store. It's also been a very long time since I've seen paper bags used. I wish walmart still did.

With your celery keep the end that you chop off & put in a jar with water & it will regrow & the leaves keep them for stock for soups.
Fridge organisation use those acrylic draws they save space. I can’t believe how cheap food is where you live. I’m from Australia it’s so expensive here. Capsicum is $6.90 kilo (you call them bell peppers) grapes are $15.00 kilo . Eggs can $9.00 for a dozen. Apples vary a lot but anything up to $6.00 kilo. I like seeing grocery hauls. It’s interesting seeing the price differences between countries 🧁🧁🧁.
I’m buying a second fridge next week to keep in the garage. It’s just for those darn condiments! I swear they multiply behind closed doors. Cold drinks and condiments take up 90% of my space. Aaaauuuughhhh! I would love to see a video of organizing your refrigerator. Thanks! 🌺 🧁🧁🧁

I have been getting grocery delivery even before 2020...when Instacart was $5 a month. Now I have Walmart+ so get groceries delivered from them...also with Walmart+ we get free Paramount TV. And I also wash and cut up veggies and fruit right away...sure makes life easier 💜💙💚💛🧡
