Great video very helpful, I got a question I bought a Pierburg pump for my 1500 and at top dead center the fuel rod is 13mm above the flange and gasket. The pump is not pumping fuel. Do I need to go to 14mm to achieve the stroke needed to pump fuel. I am using the correct long rod for the generator fuel pump. Any help thanks for posting your video.
at 8:02 when you showing the check valve there is a second valve with a screw and retainer.the retainer seems to have an angle to it and the steel flapper under it has an angle as well? First the retainer, how much of an angle is in that? The flapper has an angle so that the retainer holds it flat on the seat, is that correct?
sorry man I stopped rebuilding them because the rebuild kits from Wolfsburg West started to lack the quality they used to. the gaskets are too small and leak and I didn't want to be the reason someone's beautiful bug caught on fire. you can try lane rusell vw for rebuilt pumps but he won't sell the kits by themselves even though he gets the correct German rebuilt kits
Hey i have 1973 vw bus 1.8 motor with fuel pump on rear bottom bus depot wont tell me which is inlet and outlet ive never use a fuel pump with 3 outlets

Nice video. Great info. Do you still have any rebuilt pumps for sale? I have a 66 beetle and that's the right pump for it.

how do you install aluminum retainer ? do you need to peen it to lock it in? Thanks
