Good information Stef. I had a BMW M4 Comp and then took the little Abarth out for a test drive. Wow flipping brilliant. I am now the happy owner of an Abarth 70th Anniversary Esseesse. Love it!
We own one of these - well my wife does. I totally agree with you about the lights. For a performance car the headlights are piss poor. What I’ve done is upgraded the headlights and I’ve had fitted some 500% brighter headlight bulbs as well as the driving lights. It’s made an incredible difference. I might consider a headlight upgrade in the new year
That got the juices flowing, nice vid . I tell what though, my series 4 180 comp , which is the first car I have owned since giving up (quick) bikes just absolutely does it for me. Every drive is an event, especially round the Lincolnshire back roads which is, how can I put it, involving . For me its about character and soul, can't say much more really.
Stef, took delivery of our Ghiaccio white Comp 70th anni' a few weeks ago, sounds like we specced it pretty much to your liking, LSD, roof, carbon seats with natural leather, carbon dash, Xenons, etc etc. Got it run in nicely on a round trip to Cornwall for a holiday that included a cheeky remap that see's it approach 200bhp/tonne. I run a Giulia as a work daily and while the Abarth is compromised in places, it's mahoosive fun and every bit as good as the Alfa. Oh, and an aftermarket cruise control makes the long haul stuff so much easier too. Bought this as a long term purchase to keep the synapses firing at a reasonable cost until we're too old and decrepid to get in and out of it ! :-)
For the people that think the car is too outdated... You are right but that is exactly why it is so desirable. I for one hate all the gadgetry and weight of the most modern cars.
Personally I don't find a parts bin car for 25k desirable before options. The main reason it shows its age is through its dynamics. But agree it hasn't aged well inside either
Great, informative video, heading to the dealer in Cannes today for a test drive. Do you know if you can get the front & rear diffuser as an option? I can’t see it on the abarth website. It’ll be a great car for the South of France. Cheers
Loving the new Esseesse. Can you get a roof air scoop as part of the upgrades? Also have you become so famous that you need extra security when you go out for a drive?
Watching this makes me miss my abarth 500 esseesse even more … such special little cars with big personalities. Am I to old to buy another at 41 ? Or should I be more grown up . Once again lovely review .
Loving your content. Unfortunately, I can’t fit in these! Can’t get the seat far enough back to get my rigid left leg in. I prefer something a bit more “visible” on British motorways.
Wait, did a brit just admit that left hand drive cars are better? Just kidding man, love the content, the new esseesse looks killer but that price is steep.
Great video however... 25k plus options for a massively dated car is not great deal imo. I agree with evo magazine. Even though I'm a massive fan of the Abarth that sort of money is top end st. And the St wipes the floor with it in almost every category
I do fancy one of these. Top videos btw. Especially like the English pronunciation of Akrapovic rather than it's countries origin pronunciation which is A crap o vich (yes really)
I ordered mine essesse few weeks ago as a first customer in Czech Rep. and the LSD is NOT standard!!! Is that different in between countries or is it an error on my dealer/importer side..? Thx Stef for great content... keep it up!
124 Spider /GT for me. Much better looking car, bigger, RWD and more car for the money. THe 500 just isnt my kind of car, but i belive its a lot of fun, you British absolutly love thoose for sure
Stef!!! I'm asking you because I know you know... What's the Abarth sweet spot!? Value for money wise, what do you think is best? Is the Essessee that much better than the comp?
Hey Stef, I wanted to share a point that LSD is not standard in Esseesse, I just booked mine and I paid 1900€ for it (Differenziale autobloccante meccanico) correct me if I am wrong.
Size and power is not all in a car. Thats a thing you have realized a long time ago and you always mention that. Hopefully more people will start realizing that. Specially americans. So far I have never had the chance to test drive an Abarth.
Great car but the price is ludicrous. I’ve owned two so I think I’m judging it fairly. They will make a great buy in a couple of years but considering you can buy nearly new Comps with a significant saving, paying 25k for a car with essentially some trim differences doesn’t make a lot of sense to me. It just isn’t a 25k car. It’s the same platform than launched all those years ago when you could buy a A500 for 13k, yes it has a bigger turbo, brakes and the MY updates but it’s not twice the car the original was.
With series 3 of the Abarth Fiat introduced a new function into the ECU to keep sure the cars engine/exhaust noise emission will stay within local (well, at least European) law: If you request power you may get a total power failure for around three seconds and in any gear after again...

LHD...bring it to the States please 🙏
i guess it is kind of off topic but do anybody know a good site to stream newly released movies online?
@Edison Dean I would suggest Flixzone. Just search on google for it =)
@Ellis Kye Yea, have been using flixzone for years myself :D
@Ellis Kye thank you, signed up and it seems to work :) Appreciate it!!
I bought a 595 esseessee and this car makes me smile every time. No matter the weather. It's simplicity is it's joy no bs, no fakery just pure fun
Getting more and more tempted by these....
They are wicked cars
Relentless Pursuit did you buy one?
@@ambitionsskyyyy no, still toying with it though
Relentless Pursuit they’re good fun, go for a comp with xenons, 7’ infotainment & super sport wheels if you can 👍🏼

OMG the blue one in the show room. Wow.
I loved that one too
Great video as always Stef - your passion for Abarth always shines through !- heard rumours the next 500 will be all electric -arghh!
Who knows man. Thanks for watching 🙌🙌

I'm a biker and sell the FCA brand. I agree these cars are very pure

J Macca it got an updated interior last year and it’s not a parts bin car
@@SimbaTheGreat what got updated last year?
@@SimbaTheGreat don't forget this is European
J Macca the European models and our American Abarth are literally the same. They just got updated a little over a year ago.
Great review Stef in brilliant location to enjoy the car in its natural habitat:)
Great review Stef👍🇦🇺
Beautiful. Nicely done.
Thanks man
Very nice Car and Location👍👍

Don’t think so man. Looool! No, we were paired up for the drive 😂
I know that this comment is 3 years old, but a roof scoop would make no sense in a front engine car. Have I missed an inside joke😂
Are they still manufactured in either Poland or Mexico?
Do you think this Esseesse is louder than the Competizione with the Monza? Thank you.
Great car, have had mine around a year now 😂😂.
Watching this makes me miss my abarth 500 esseesse even more … such special little cars with big personalities. Am I to old to buy another at 41 ? Or should I be more grown up . Once again lovely review .
Defo not too old. Go for it
How loud is the exhaust in normal mode? Don't want to upset the neighbours, on early mornings. If I get one. Loved the video.
Simply fun brilliant cars glad I have a competizione, but an essesse is a must buy
Is the Esseesse above the Comp? What makes it better?
Loving your content. Unfortunately, I can’t fit in these! Can’t get the seat far enough back to get my rigid left leg in. I prefer something a bit more “visible” on British motorways.

Great video again........
Not too familiar with these in the States, are they like the Italian Mini?
Yep super fun cars with lots of tunability 🙌
abito nelle zone in cui hai fatto il video.... le strade piu' belle del mondo :) viva superga

Hmm seems that they vary from country to country. Standard in the UK
What a great car! 😁🚗🔥
What please is the LTD ?
Another passionate vid......awesome
Question - can the public visit the HQ ?? I will be visiting Turin in late August, it would be so 😎 to pop in
Not sure if I am honest. I think it’s by appointment only

Value for money wise, what do you think is best?
Is the Essessee that much better than the comp?
So the handeling is better than the competizione ?
Out the box yes due to the LSD powering out of corners feels better on the SS. If you spec in the LSD in the comp then it will feel the same
Lovely car.
Is the punto abarth finished
Yes they don’t offer it anymore
@@StefABtv fuck that's not good why?
The blue one at 4.22 is so nice. Is that a 695 biposto?
Yep that’s a biposto :)
Hey Stef, I wanted to share a point that LSD is not standard in Esseesse, I just booked mine and I paid 1900€ for it (Differenziale autobloccante meccanico) correct me if I am wrong.
Perhaps in Europe. Seems standard on Uk spec cars
Stef ABtv Yes I bought in Italy, but anyway.. just because of your videos I was forced to buy one 🤙🏻
Sad the us never got the 595 and now the abarth will no longer be sold here
Stef, do you think the car will ever get a major overhaul?
I hope it will. I needs one
Are you working on commission? You sure there's not a link in the description to put a deposit down?
I wish I was. I could quit my day job if it was. So to answer the question nope I am not on commission
@@StefABtv fair play. Great video and great editing btw I'll subscribe. 25k is steep though. Can pick up a decent preowned M3 for that money! Madness
@@madmike6266 You'll need another £25k to maintain and fix it over the first year 😁
@@JoeMaranophotography did I say how much it would cost to maintain it or did I say you could buy one for the same price you fucking bore.
LSD as standard? Woah! Trippy! 🤪
Good vid, but confused... Why is LHD manual 'better' than RHD manual??? :-)
Cracking vid

Auto or manual ?
Both.

🤷🏻♂️😂
@@StefABtv do get one you know it makes sense 😀
