We the members of All Tawang District Students' Union (ATDSU) held a press conference today to highlight two urgent issues requiring immediate action from the authorities.
*1. Provision of Fresh Meat Supply:*
The ATDSU has been advocating for the past two years for the fulfillment of a promise made by the authorities to ensure a regular supply of fresh meat in Tawang District. They emphasized that access to fresh food is a fundamental right and crucial for the well-being of meat consumers in the district. The Union urged the authorities to take immediate steps to honor this commitment.
*2. Violations of Inner Line Permit (ILP) Regulations:*
The ATDSU also raised concerns about ongoing violations of the Inner Line Permit (ILP) regulations, which protect the rights of the indigenous people of Tawang District by preserving their land, culture, traditions, and religion. The Union called for strict enforcement of these regulations and emphasized the need for effective administrative oversight.
The ATDSU has given the authorities a one-week deadline to address these issues, warning that failure to do so may necessitate further democratic actions. The press conference concluded with a strong call for prompt and effective action on the matters raised.
