Those Duce an a Halfs and the old Willys Jeeps are some of my favorite vehicles to date! Everything is built like a tank and if you gotta repair something you can get it done without taking the whole vehicle apart! They got all fuel engines, no computers, super low-range gear in the transmission to pull anything, PTO shaft, 10WD for the Duce, and full-time 4x4 for the Jeep. Not fully sure about diff locks but I am pretty sure they do. Definitely keep that vehicle Issac, they don't make them like they used to!
"LEAD hotline" is the Letterkenny Army Depot in Pennsylvania. They rebuild mostly electronic equipment today but in the past they have rebuilt everything from small arms to vehicles.... the markings on the truck come back to 7th Motor Transport Battalion, B Company which was HQ'd in Camp Pendleton California and was deployed during Korea and Vietnam. The unit was drawn down over time and merged with another redesignated as 1st MT BN sometime in the 1990s. Cool truck.
Thanks another fun video from waking up in your bus then your Honda than the Military vehicle. Hope you get and enjoy you and your Dads dream take care be well
Hey Ike! That's a really clean deuce and a half. Many of them got banged up pretty good once in the civilian market. I'm 62 now but back when I was in high-school my buddies dad had a water well drilling business. He was always looking for those truck to mount drilling Derrick's on. He had 3xtrucks ready to go and 3 spares that were just cab and chassis ... Him and I would on occasion sneak a case of beer in one and go joyriding in the woods .... I swear you could climb a tree with one. They made the perfect truck for his dad's business... They could go into rough or soft ground and get a well sunk and get back out again
Duce and a halfs are an experience to drive! My friends brother bought one when he was in high school to be his daily driver. Unfortunately, he didn't take into account the fuel consumption so that didn't last too long LOL but it sure made a statement! He let me drive it around town one time and it was lots of fun! Definitely turns heads barreling down the road 🤣
I all most bought a 5- ton dump like your 2-1/2. I live in Elizabeth City NC & own some property in south Mills NC that I was developing years ago & thought that this dump was a good investment. It was 1of 2 a farmer owned in Chesapeake Va. I stopped to talk to the farmer that was selling it & he talked me right out of the sale. He said these things weigh empty as much as the limit before needing a CDL. They got about 5 mpg & had a top speed of about 45ish I thought not only is it going to cost me a fortune to drive it about 30-40 miles back but it’s going to take most of the day to do it. So with that said they aren’t built for economy or speed. Had I bought it - well it would have been interesting to show up at the local tractor pull with it. Good luck with yours.
PB Blaster makes a Woolwax based under coating stuff in a bucket you can spray lasts for at least 7 years and stays pliable so water never gets through it neat stuff for any vehicle
The only time these are ever allowed to have gasoline, is under extreme circumstances and you have to mix it with oil, just for the extra lubrication for the injection system. The brakes at least stock are single circuit Air over hydraulic. The weird shift pattern would throw me off. Just don't engage 6x6 when doing 55mph, you're gonna have a bad time. I kind of want to get a Bob'd Deuce but I'd have to triple my income to afford the maintenance.
I drove some deuce and half’s in the Army back in the 80’s but my main vehicle was a GOAT which was an amphibious 6 wheel drive. They are fun “little” vehicles! 😂
That deuce and a half would be perfect to keep at the house for the next flood or hurricane, they'll go through some pretty deep water and pull a lot of debris.
Nice Deuce, sounds like it has the D turbo which is great. There should be no need to shift between High and Low range when on the road and unloaded unless the motor is down on power.
Excellent Video Issac :) , your brother :) , his son :) help out and nice got parts need from parts Honda car to ! Also remember Duec 6×6 , 2-1/2 ton army truck my one neighborhood neighbor had but he was old army truck 1940 Chevrolet also he changed few things in his to and truck be faster too !
You're garage reminds me of my work area. Just a whole lotta stuff but not enough room to make everything look nice and neat lol. To us that is organized if we know the area any given part is lurking around. Anyway if you are ever interested in buying a Yamaha 350 Big Bear 5 speed let me know cause I'm trying to make room up in the barn. It ran great until the last time I paid some mechanic to work on it and a week after I got it back for some reason there is gas getting into the oil now. I have no idea how that even happens so I figure it's probably an easy fix for you to do and then it should run like a champ. And I'm not far from you either near Winston-Salem and King, NC area if you ever wanted to come check it out.👍
Make sure your hood release on the civic isnt ripping off or the hood might fly up and destroy your windshield and roof. Ive seen many of those generation civics that the hood latch tears off and the radiator support falls apart.
Firstly another awesome video as always and secondly that truck rules and as someone pointed out it would make a great mobile work shop and fingers crossed you get it
Oh and you wanting another vehicle, you have sold some and really it's none of my Freckin business anyway! Right.😊. Oh hell ya!! Great new toy! I highly highly approve!! My dad would want one too, in fact, test drove them at a military test base just for his job. What a job. He picked me up from school in different types ( no tanks of course). But this was in 1974 mind you. And ya. I'm old. Love these trucks but someone has got to bob them down, and lower it so old guys can drive it too.
America is just so big that you can have all the stuff that you want… there is so much ground that it doesn’t matter if there are like a few cars sitting in the woods 😂
It's funny when you said why do you need that truck only reason was dad worked on them. So you didn't really need one u just wanted one but hopefully it'll get used for something
i could use a 6x6 for the floods we have here and dont hold me to it but i think that U shifting pattern is called Dog leg shifting. its been years since i saw one of those. i will google it and if i'm wrong i will let you know.
How's your twin brother doing?? Haven't seen him for awhile. It's so funny seeing both of you on the TV and knowing I'm gonna loose track of which is you, or him?. Hope he's well and just hating to be on video.
ive always wanted one of those myself. im sad to admit though that the sound of that horn OMG it just screemed. Invade us take what u want lol. odd transmission seems to me that a simple straight 10 would be a better option.
It's your money spend it on what you want. I don't know why these people say anything to you like you're such a bad guy doing what you want to do the way you want to do it it sucks The way they treat you. I'm 70 years old and I don't let people tell me what the hell to do.
Wowser... want one! I could sort of see your brain ticking over there, the angel and the devil on your shoulders- do I NEED it? Not really. Needs some work- so, I can do that! Have you got the time to do it? Not really but I'll make time. Expensive to run- Whatever! What you gonna use it for? Transporting beanie weanie ingredients to Mini Mayhem! Where you gonna store it? Hell, I needed a new and vastly bigger shed/ aircraft hanger anyway! Don't do it... I want it! Really don't! Ike flicks angel of his shoulder with a huge smile on his face and winks at the devil 😜

That truck fits like a glove with the channel.
You could fit a whole fleet of mini bikes in the back of the deuce-and-a-half! 👍😎👍

Thanks for sharing and taking us along.
That duce and 1/2 is just to cool that'll make a great plow truck
Wow! You and your brother sound identical…lol
I keep coming back to the bringing the vehicles back to life and selling and onto the next vehicle excellent.
Thanks another fun video from waking up in your bus then your Honda than the Military vehicle. Hope you get and enjoy you and your Dads dream take care be well

Don’t call it “child labor”, call it “skill development “.
Isaac, your father would be so proud of you.

The civic is going to look nice. Have fun with the duce. Thanks for the video. Take care and I'll see you later.
I'da never thought of a duce and a half.

What a beautyfull european style caravan. That rv would be sold like warm fresh bread here in The Netherlands!

Great music to strip cars by without being stuck with thorns or bit by snakes in the tall grass and weeds!
Great stuff thanks, Good luck with the deuce in a half

You can turn truck into a portable workshop I have painted a deuce and a half with their tanks on board
With winter coming soon, you got to show us what the truck can do in the deep snow in your lane or where ever ! Mean Machine
Keep it simple Ike! Be safe and drive careless!! 🤪 ✌️👊🤙🤙🫡🫡🫡

I traveled around Germany in a duece and half usually in the back. 55 mph top speed. We'd get passed like we were standing still.
Ahhh the endless list must be tackled one by one, but FUN is important too, right?!

Check out NNKH's 5 ton military truck!
I think you need to ls swap that chevette though
military vehicles are cool.
Why didn't you prime that hood before painting it
Front should be juice and the rear should be air if i remember.
Isaac I got a 06 Jetta tdi runs drives. I’d trade you on your white jeep soft top manual shift
Sold the jeep to a friend
it make 100mi but might use 100 gal too
So is this civic going to run a spoon engine?
❤❤
Is it a dump truck type
Towing a Coleman camper and sleeping in the bus!?? Oh man! What's the deal with that?
I prefer the bus
Do your nephew have his own car? Hook him up Uncle Ike!
I told him I'd get him a car when he does good in school and gets a job
I haven't watched the video yet, but do you really need a new project?
Hondas are reliable
It's your money spend it on what you want. I don't know why these people say anything to you like you're such a bad guy doing what you want to do the way you want to do it it sucks The way they treat you. I'm 70 years old and I don't let people tell me what the hell to do.
Are you and your brother twins!?
Yep
