The Apostle of Rome versus The Apostle of Modern Thought

  • On this Pentecost Sunday, let’s spend our time reflecting on two apostles… the 16th Century St. Philip Neri, known as “the Apostle of Rome”, and the Jesuit Teilhard de Chardin, the “apostle of evolution” or perhaps we might call him the “Apostle of Modern Thought”. Why choose these two on Pentecost? Because they both received a spirit from outside of themselves to help and guide them in their apostolate. And as I hope to show you, they were not the same spirits… one was from above (same as Apostles) and the other from below. For more please visit www.reginaproph... & remember to say 3 Hail Marys for the priest

    Poor Fulton Sheen.....
I’d rather die than embrace Chardins modern thought.
    Great homily, Father.

Thank you, Father. I most enjoy your sermons showing the Truth and those who teach a shadow of the truth, combining the true church and showing the growing, disturbing, trend of modern thought. We face very much the same issues as St. Neri. We sure could use a saint like him today. Please God, send us a modern St. Neri.

Teilhard is the only Roman Catholic author whose works were put on public display with those of Marx and Lenin in Moscow's Hall of Atheism. Pope Francis is showing himself as Teilhard's admirable disciple using those vague, stretch, endless debatable language. Bp Barron also praised Teilhard's work.

May God preserve our souls from being dragged down before the triumph of the Immaculate Hart!

Thank you, Father. I have prayed 3 Hail Marys for you. I am not surprised that Pope Francis is a 'fan' of Teilhard de Chardin. T de Chardin sounds to me like the spiritual equivalent of a confidence trickster - a con-man - whose work is so convincing that even so-called learned men and women were sucked in by him and injected his poison to generations.
St. Philip Neri founded the wonderful Oratorians, the order Cardinal Newman joined! St. Philip Neri Ora Pro Nobis and the Oratorians don't do soppy sermons.

Pierre Teilhard de Chardin SJ (1 May 1881 - 10 April 1955) was a French idealist philosopher and Jesuit priest who trained as a paleontologist and geologist and took part in the discovery of Peking Man.
He conceived the vitalist idea of the Omega Point (a maximum level of complexity and consciousness towards which he believed the universe was evolving), and he developed Vladimir Vernadsky's concept of noosphere.
Although a monitum was issued in regard to some of Teilhard's ideas, he has been posthumously praised by Pope Benedict XVI and other eminent Catholic figures, and his theological teachings were cited by Pope Francis in the 2015 encyclical, Laudato si'.
The response to his writings by evolutionary biologists has been, with some exceptions, decidedly negative, although recently some have written more positively about Teilhard's ideas.

What is really disturbing i Pope JPII quoted him in a book for Priests. I'm under no illusions when it comes to JPII but he sure gave all appearances of a True Devotee of the Virgin Mary but he still did crazy things like approving Teilhard, topless Scripture readers during Mass, Asissi meeting with crazy religions. God help us. Please God help us Through the Virgin Mary. I ask each of you, What are you doing to bring about the Triumph of the Immaculate Heart of Mary? Please pray for me that I can be well enough to at least Make the First Saturday Devotions. Pray the Rosary every day.

    • @KobraVR

You have no authority to declare anyone in the church as a heretic least of all the Holy Father. Be very careful throwing around serious accusations online, every word you utter will be scrutinised and who knows how many faithful are scandalised by such rash judgements. Pope Francis is the Pope we deserve right now, he is the leader of Christ's church on earth and he deserves the respect of his position regardless if you like him or not.
Jesus washed the feet of Judas, if this point is lost on anyone it was a demonstration of the absolute love and respect due to any of God's clergy regardless of their faults. Jesus knew Judas had given himself over wholly to the devil but that was irrelevant, he was part of a greater mystery.
Spend more time praying for the Holy Father rather than criticising him and maybe you will make a positive change rather than attacking the foundations of our faith.

Yes, even some mostly solid and talented Catholics were taken in by Teilhard's heresy. O'Connor and Sheen are mentioned, but many others besides. Papa Bergoglio must love the whole idea, it fits so well with his Ecologism, fake ecumenism and New Age universalism. So many "isms". We need to just get back to basics, love for Christ and His Church, follow the commandments and take the sacraments.

    • @gobbleguk
      @gobbleguk ปีที่แล้ว

This comment at least seems to be less fiery than the ones that suggest Sheen and O'Connor were thorough revolutionaries for observing novel ideas in the age of crisis. Of course we should still fear the fire and be wary of the destruction that embracing these ideas leads to. Disheartening to see some comments suggesting crypto-schismatic things over the sermon.

We are free to believe in evolution or not as Catholics, it's not a church dogma and you can still accept even if evolution is true then it was part of God's divine plan.
I'm not sure I like this whole line of demonising someone for believing in something that is totally free to accept or reject just because they happen to be passionate about it.
This video seems to have stoked up yet more eye-brow raising 'concerns' over Pope Francis by those listeners pushing a sedevacant agenda. This is toxic to our faithful.
I personally don't believe in evolution, I think it's possible for a species to adapt over time to local changes to its immediate environment but wholesale genetic mutation to knew species I just don't agree with. It wouldn't bother me if Pope Francis was for or against it because a pope is free to give an opinion and he can certainly be wrong and often is. He is not trying to preach it as an infallible statement.
What worries me most today is how much pride and human respect is being thrown about where people feel the need to openly call out other priests, religious or God forbid the Holy Father as heretics. Do they know what judgement they are calling down on their own heads? It beggers belief.

She was a victim soul for Christ and suffered greatly for Him, but United to Her Divine Spouse through His Cross. She also was a prophet.
