I would have loved to have heard Andy and Mazzy's Star Hope do this song as a duet. While her rendition seems to be more tormented and even vulnerable, his is strangely soothing .I put this song on with ear phones on and it feels like his voice is a feather caressing my skin and my whole body, giving me the strangest tingles. How does the same song sang by two different people create such a different reaction? Both awesome as the song is special.... I don't want to choose.....but as a treat would have loved the duet.
From my favorite Pink Floyd album Animals .. I'm 61 and 12 years ago I lost my older brother to cancer, he had just turned 50.. My brother and I listen to Animals every single night one year while we were in high school.. 11th and 10th grades.. We had to share a bedroom with a divider down the middle of the room because of financial circumstances because my father left, and my mother was doing everything she could to support us but we had to move into a smaller place.. My brother and I were best friends, we had similar interests and same circle of Friends.. we were always close growing up.. So we would put this album on every night when we went to sleep.. and when side one was done whoever was still awake had to flip the album over to play the other side.. This album is very emotional for me but in a good way.. It makes me feel like he's right there with me and we're laughing and joking around and enjoying life.. So this is dedicated to my brother, Harold Leonard Ley., I'll see you on the dark side of the moon!

I love this stripped down version...the original by Mazzy Star has been a favorite since I was a kid. But this cover... Its like being reacquainted with a love you thought you knew so well & being knocked off your feet by someone else's translation of that love. Dont take anything for granted, even a favorite song youve tucked away on a playlist from a long time ago....cuz the right musicians will come along & make you realize how much youll love that song forever.
