    Because you mentioned Rick Krane, I went to his website and downloaded a video for a fish I carved. It was, as you said it would be, super helpful. That said, I learned some good things from you and having caught a few winter steelhead, I can say your reproduction is excellent. It looks very real, and that is the goal, isn't it!

    Enjoy your painting videos. Can you tell me where you purchase large booles of powers you use. Iam a 74 year old fish taxidermist that is stsrting to use powders in my work. Your help in this matter is greatly appreciated.

      Statuary Bronse powder by Newburg Ebel. Also used charcoal powder.

      @@trinitymountainarts1196 Yeah I’m a taxidermist in Ohio we have a lot of steelhead here and I like to pat my own back on doing paint work on a steel head but I always want to improve and I’m actually thinking about doing pan pastels a shot this year that statutory bronze powder by Newburgh ebel is Siad Taxidermy Supply guy or

      I generally use pan pastel colors on the head and fleshy areas only. I use a lot of watercolors to replicate the oil layers under the scales to establish my base layer.
