  • So it’s here! A week in the life of my hair following my brand new and oh so amazing Ayurvedic hair care regimen. This is the regimen I’ve been following for three months now and it has completely transformed my hair, and helped me overcome the excessive shedding setback I mentioned in my previous video:
    HIDING MY NATURAL HAIR, EXCESSIVE SHEDDING & HAIR LOSS? FIX IT JESUS! • HIDING MY NATURAL HAIR...
    I’ll be back on Sunday [date changed to Monday 26th June] with part 3 featuring all of the recipes I featured and how to make them! If you haven’t already be sure to subscribe and join the family! xxx
    P.s. I wash my hair every 2 weeks and therefore continue to moisture and seal + oil my scalp every other day up until my next wash day.

    I know you have to be willing to put in work for hair growth and length retention....but does anyone else kinda lowkey feel as if it's unfair that we have to go through all of this when other people just wake up, wash, and go? I mean, complaining/pouting does not accomplish anything. BUT it just seems like too much for something that shouldn't matter this much. I say this as I'm only just about to embark on my natural 4c hair journey and I'm feeling overwhelmed. I stopped relaxing my hair 9 months ago, and it's still a teeny tiny fro. I see so many people on TH-cam succeeding, but it just feels as if I won't be one of them (T.T)

    I've used a shikakai wash made with aloe and rose powder and warm fermented rice water. I massaged it into my scalp and let it sit for 10-15 mins... my hair felt clean and moisturized after.
    I would not recommend trying to detangle with it in your hair. I did a henna gloss after and detangle while washing that out 👌🏾

    Thank you so much for making these videos! I've been on my natural hair journey since 2010 as well, and recently my hair has begun excessively shedding, to the point where I can see noticeable thinning in the middle top part of my head, as of today. I also wash my hair every 2 weeks and it's nice seeing that we use close to the same products! Today I almost broke down into tears seeing my hair continiously shed from the root while in the shower AFTER I had already detangled. Your video has given me hope!

    hi There!...i noticed you comb your hair in the shower and honestly I don't have curly hair so I don't know the process of how people with curly hair detangle or their shower routine but I must say that it's not healthy. when hair is wet the follicles are sensitive and any tugging can lead to breakage and hair loss. this is just an opinion and yeah I'm from India so happy to see that ayurveda is helping out people and keeping them satisfied with the results

    • @LoveYourTresses
      @LoveYourTresses  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      D-Boi stan for lifeu! keke thank you :) In order to prevent tangling and breakage which can come about when hair of my texture dries without being properly detangled, this is the best way for me to detangle my hair on wash day. I know my hair is more fragile in this state but it helps me prevent a lot more damage in the long run and I've been doing this for years and it works well for me. Love seeing another person familiar with Ayurveda! Thanks so much for sharing x

    great vid will defo be implementing ayurvedic care more, although will say, careful about taking iron. Most people get enough iron from diet, problem in anaemia usually stems from absorption and the side effects from too much iron is probably worse than too little iron; recently found out I have way too much iron currently (after having been on the low/ just below the low range levels for years). People of African backgrounds do tend to have lower iron purely cause anaemia protects from malaria, bear in mind blood test ranges tend to stem from European data.

      Seeing your hair wet I would say it's majority 4b, 4c by definition doesn't have visible curl definition that you would see without seeing it super close. Either way it's gorgeous!

      Aww that’s really kind of you. I wash my face with Black soap [dudu osun], and moisturise with creams rich in vitamin C e.g Lush Enzymion cream and the Jasons Natural C Effects Creme. I also oil cleanse and use face masks during the week. I have a pamper routine video which shows some of the products I use x

    I've just come across your video and have watched Curly Proverbs too. .I will be following yours as it's closer texture to mine and so very clear. I'm also from London and would love to know where you purchase your habit tracker from so I can start and record all the new regimes I'm about to undertake. Thank you for this. Based on this one video I'm definitely going to be a subbie.

    Have you treated using an apple cider vinegar water rinse instead of shampoo? I pretty much don't need to use shampoo now. It's been several years of experimenting. Lemon juice with water works too but I found it can be drying if used too much. As for hair fall definitely wearing it up too much pulls on hair follicle. Wear your hair down as much as possible. If I had curly hair like you I would grow it out. ; D

    What type of essential oil should I add to any product which touches my hair? You mention this practice at 2:37. As there are many essential oils, I'd like to know which one I should choose from?. Thanks

    So I did an Ayurveda mask this past Monday and probably through the night my head began to itch and all day throughout the day my head has been itching. It's still itching as I type this comment. I used Alma, Cassia Henna, Fenugreek, and Aloe Vera powders. I also used Aloe Vera Juice some of my conditioner and avocoda and olive oil. Can you anyone one tell me why that happened.

    • @tumelomahlangu5577
      @tumelomahlangu5577 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      You probably had an allergic reaction to aloe vera. Not all types of aloe veras illicit an allergic reaction but it's hard to know which one

      Girl I have been using Ayurvedic herbs too...use it as treatment.But I itch like hell on day 3/4.First 2 days my hair feels amazing!
      I saw a video of someone saying that the itching goes away,but I’m still waiting for results.
      I will however tell you that I have been doing this treatment for 1 month now and I shed strands of hair,unlike before where I would shed a whole lot.

    Fifi thank you for the very detailed video including the previous one on your regimen plus the links to buy the ingredients. I started using henna as a deep conditioner but have 'paused' because of the mess I make when I apply it 😭 despite gloves and laying down newspaper everything in the bathroom gets henna'd. Please any tips on putting henna on just my hair and not every other surface in sight?

    • @LoveYourTresses
      @LoveYourTresses  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hey Lovely! Always a pleasure! Haha I can totally relate! Do you apply the henna whilst in the bath/shower? I find that works especially with the shower curtain pulled. The Henna still manages to splatter everywhere but if you rinse as you go that should stop it from staining xxx

    • @sariantaylor6736
      @sariantaylor6736 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I'm sorry but you are mistaken. Henna does not temporarily deposit it's dye onto hair, it is permanent. However, neutral henna aka cassia obovata does temporarily deposit dye on the hair. Neutral henna provides all the benefits of henna without the permanent red hue. I highly recommend it.
