1975 was my favorite year of the 1970's for me, I met my late wife of 31 years on 1/16/1975 when I was on my fifth Navy cruise and on my third Subic Bay visit in the Philippines. I bought my very first new car that year, got my drivers license that year also, the music was just great that year.

Born in 68' this was the music of my childhood. All listened to on a.m. radio with the window rolled down as the A.C. Everyone was "present" during family picnics throwing the frisbee instead of on cell phones. These great tunes bring back the simpler, happy memories. Oh, and yes, we all pretended we were Kung Foo fighters when Carl Douglas came on the radio.

My brother graduated 1976, I was 6-7 years old listening to all the best 70's music! I'm smiling right now just remembering those years and him sharing music with me! He still, to this day, calls me up when he hears a new artist or song he's excited about ✌🏼
Almost every one is now a classic . i was 18 . what a good time and a great time machine here . i don't listen the today music , a crappy noise .

I'm only 29 but this music takes the cake for me, the music of today is horrid to the point I don't feel right calling it music. With the exception of talents like Dave Matthews. I love the 60's and 70's and wish I have lived then. But alas I am an 80's baby.

1975 was a good year, the reds won the WS in Baseball, my life -long favorite team, great music, you did a great piecing of the tunes for the year. It was good year for good tunes, looking back at now.

1975 was my favorite year growing up for manny reasons and to hear all these songs again, brings back GREAT! times....
1975............fantastic year.......i was 24 years old and thought i had the world by the a$$. love the music of that decade. So many memories of good times and wonderful people come flooding back when i hear these songs. I'll always remember McNeely Lake, Boones Farm Wine out of the bottle and EZ Widers. That was a long long time ago!

In one's life, there is always 1 or 2 years that have the most influence on you & your personal favorite. For me, it was 1975 & 1976. These songs along with some more progressive rock songs were the soundtrack to that wonderful time in my life. Those memories will never go away.

I can remember these songs so well. I was young back then in love, life was good. Now I am old divorced and alone. I would have never believed I would wind up this way in my retirement years.

AWESOME!!!! I just listened to your 74 and 75 reflections and let me tell you, I just went though the best trip of my life, a full range of memories and emotions. It's a shame that people can listen to such a great Reflection of history and engage on a meaningless argument about generations. Old folk, young folk, who cares.

I'll be 45 this year , yep these bring back Memories , ya know a lot of these were written by the better Songwriters & some were fake bands to promote the song , most of this is Pop Music , some are very good , some so so , some bite , I think some of today's youth could understand it & some just won't go these , I like Music all the way back to the Beginning :) QC

and i agree with you that around the 90s, the music started declining...i think thats the last decade i actually still listened to what was playing on the radio...otherwise i just popped in a cassette i'd recorded myself and listened to that...i couldn't name a current pop star other than those i hear of on the tube, if my life depended on it

I agree with this.. I just found the earlier music to be more "musical". Something that seems to be missing from today's music. Music from this time period would give you a emotional connection.. That doesn't exist now. It mostly sounds like noise. My opinion :-) G

Memories of Living In Monroe Indiana and tinkering with Referigeration machines and electric motors,helping father with home repairs & plumbing
I always find it interesting what people say about what decade is best for music. Ask my mother, God rest her soul, and she would have said the 20s-40s. I believe everyone favors certain decades because of what transpired during that time. We relate music with people, places & events that are meaningful in our lives, be they good or bad.
Personally, I couldn't choose a favorite decade - I enjoy them all. I can't really relate to today's music, but then again, I'm not in my prime anymore. ;)

@boydhiltbrunner I certainly understand your feelings. Although Im not alone, Im in a loveless marriage that should have ended years ago. Our boys, (which are grown) keep me going. Difficult situation. Love these songs to listen to and at least go back to those years for a few minutes. Hope things get better for you.

That's because it was released in late 1974. I was in the 9th grade and remember the fall/winter of 74, and this was in heavy rotation.
