Wouldn’t getting a different clutching after getting bigger tires have the same effect? Or is the gears a more reliable do and forget about it upgrade?
Honestly didn't even know they still made one. Pretty interesting. Suspension travel is pretty underwhelming. Not sure how low it's geared. The killer for me is no front locker
From my experience with XMR 700, stock gear reduction is excessive for 28" tyres. It is too slow in low range and most of the time I had to ride in high range to keep up with other riders. I went for 30" Zilla and the low range is still too low. However, you will need lower gearing for 32" tyres.
@@MudPuppyOffroad High range is perfectly fine. Grizzly on 28" in low range seems to have the same speed at similar RPM compared to my XMR 700 in high range. When I engage low gear with 28" on my XMR I can not keep up with Grizzly or G2 in low range, no matter how much I rev.
@@MudPuppyOffroad Again, this is my experience, I think this quad is overgeared for 28" tyres and needs 30" at least without any reduction. And because of the low gearing it's very hard to jump across small ruts, since it doesn't pick up enough acceleration compared to G2. This machine operates like a car rather than a quad. It can go very slow, which G2 is not capable of doing.
Screw Them Hater’s! We Appreciate The Videos And The Details! 💪
I like this type of video. Gives confidence to us mere mortals that this work can be done easily.
Good vid man
Keep up the good work
Cool. Concise. As always right on. Cool stuff thanks
Nice. Can’t wait to see the next video
I would love those older hd7 gears!
I think they've already been claimed LOL
What’s the effect on top end speed after this reduction? I assume you’ll lose a bit?
Thanks for all your content. Huge help.
Going to depend completely on your tire size for me. I will probably not lose any top end cuz I'm running 33s. I'll do a test though
Although I should point out, the only time I'm going fast is in deep sugar sand. So I was not RPM limited before the gear reduction
These gears should make the clutches happier with large tires so I might actually pick up some speed

@BloodPshyco73 100% gears better
Whats your thoughts on a kingquad 400 footshift? Ive always owned honda but dang they have gone up in price

Looks like the lowest gear ratio if you have it in first gear and low range is about 72:1 which is very good
10-4. Appreciate your reply. Just hard to make a switch from Honda. But sounds like Suzuki might be 2nd best
Do you know if this would work with the g3 500
Yep. Watch my other video. It would be an even bigger reduction
Are these gears the same as the 850 gears? (Meaning you could take the gears out of the 850 and put them in the 700 for the same reduction of 18%)
I haven't been able to confirm that yet, but I suspect they are (G3 850 obviously)
Would these possibly work for a 24 850 xmr?
Total different tranny. You have to swap the whole tranny for a 6x6 unit
For a 28 tire, do you recommend a 5 percent reduction?
Depends which 28" tire...

@@romankaletinets6750 lol was high range too fast for you stock?

is the 850 same as 1000
G3 yes I think so
