they dont work when using commas...its too late for me since i wrote so many potential flashcards on excel..is there any way to import in anki from excel with flashcards separated automatically in column a (front) and column b (back)?
Is there a way to keep the text style? I have few letters underlined from each cell of the first row, but when I import to anki the underline goes away (I'm using Numbers instead of Excel by the way)
I tried following your example using three columns: Front, Back, Desc but each time I try to import the CSV using Anki desktop for Windows I get a message box pop us saying 'Invalid CSV'. I've checked the file using Notepad ++ and it looks valid to me. Any idea what is going on?
Hi! Can u pls help me? Once I have created the first deck, it doesn't allow me to keep creating others... After importing the new file it says. (0 notes added, x notes unchanged) x means the number of notes of the file. So it doesn't creating nothing but a empty deck. The files are ok because I tried to import firstly other decks and it worked but not for the second one I try to create. (I'm in a +100 decks projects so...)
when you say you keep a running list going, does that mean you're able to continue adding new cards to the same deck? I am looking to create a deck for my first exam under Class X, for example. Afterwards I would like to continue adding to Class X, but for exam two this time. Is that possible under this method? Thanks!
Yes when you reimport an updated sheet into a deck it will just update the deck to be like the sheet, it will not duplicate any cards unless you chose the option to do so.
This was short and straight to the point, thank you so much.
Finally someone who expalins it in the most simplest way - THANK YOU!
Outstanding video! Complete, concise, thorough. Many thanks.
Really helpful! Thank you. I watched another video that took 30 minutes, and it was not as helpful as yours. Got it done in 1 go.
Thank you very much. The video helped me create a card quickly, I hope you make more videos about using anki😊

This was so helpful. How could Chat GPT be used with this feature to create flashcards fast, say, from notes taken during content review?
This is pretty fantastic. Thank you. Is there a way to do this with Cloze card types? Thanks

I get the error 500:Failed to read 'path file': stream did not contain valid UTF-8

I tried to this, but the anki is mixing the columns. I dont know why. He only shows one =/
Thank you
Many thanks :)
Brilliant
Please someone help. When I upload it both columns appear as one field. So side 1: question, answer. Rather than side one: side 2 answer. So annoying
i know it’s been a year since ur comment but incase someone has this problem: instead of downloading it as csv, download it as tsv. hope this helps ❤
