🍁🤎🍂📚 The fall scenes were glorious!! Vegan omelet, so jealous! 😊 I'm glad you were able to hear Claire Kegan speak. What a wonderful experience/memory.
Hi Aisling, Your vlogs are always so peaceful. Small Things Like These is on my TBR. I five stared The Girl who Drank the Moon and will continue reading Kelly Barnhill. I'm currently reading Lost in Wonder a nonfiction book I needed in 2020 when I started my mindfulness journey. Hi Aisling, Your vlogs are so peaceful. Small Things Like These is on my TBR. Your video's always have the perfect sunday vibes, very relaxed. I am really inspired by the fact that you are reading the books that you own (shocking concept i know😉)
Thanks so much. Haha I know. Me from a year ago wouldn’t recognise myself today. But it does get easier the more that you commit to it. I get a good hit of dopamine every time the number on my physical TBR goes down ☺️
I've just finished Small Things Like These this afternoon! Loved it a lot, hope to read more of her writing! Thank you for including snippets of Claire Keegan's speech, and I enjoyed your take on her. :)
Absolutely lovely video💕! I also gave Our Shar of Night 4☆, but I think, I will bump it up to 4.5☆, as I still think of it almost every day and I feel that I will get even more out of it from a reread... Thank you for sharing your library events, you are so lucky that those amazing authors are Irish😊!
I’m still thinking about Our Share of Night, too. I’ve struggled to really get into anything since. It’s such an unusual and engaging book. I can understand entirely why there’s so much hype for it ☺️ We’re so blessed in Ireland with creative output, that’s for sure! Thanks for watching 💛
I loved this, Aisling :) I've been sitting here, with my dog asleep beside me, and working on crocheting a blanket (very slowly, as I'm new to crochet), and this has been such a cosy moment, so thank you for that :) What was that you were eating when you had your headphones on? It looked delicious. Also, totally agree about how wonderful it is that we exist in a world where there are dogs and nature. We need to cherish all of that and look after it.
That sounds like such a lovely time, Katie 🥹 I hope your crochet is going well. I only learned last year and apart from reading, it’s my most consistent hobby. I often crochet and listen to audiobooks now - it’s a top tier combination ☺️ It was a vegan korma from Ramen. Really lovely, but I do find their portion sizes to be a bit excessive 😂 I think sometimes that given today’s political landscape, some people think that protecting our natural world is a really extremist view, which I don’t understand. But I’m glad to know that there are still so many of us out there that believe in protecting what we’re already blessed with ☺️🌱
@@aiscahill it was, thank you. She's asleep beside me again as I'm typing this 😍 I wanted to say I'm sorry about the loss of your cat, and your other pets 😪 Losing a pet can be just as hard as losing a person. I hope I'm not going to have to go through that again for a long time yet. Elsie just turned two in August, so here's hoping we have many more years together 🙏 I started with knitting, and I've made a few things for myself. I just love it. The sense of accomplishment is just amazing, and I love knowing I've made something unique that no one else has 😀 I generally watch TH-cam and knit, or crochet now too! I'm enjoying the crochet. It moves faster than knitting, which is nice 😆 That korma looked delicious. Must try for myself 😋 I don't understand that either. And I must admit, I'm afraid of what the election of the evil orange turd is going to mean for our planet, among so many other things. I've been so upset about all of that this week, but it's so nice to chat to someone who understands how important nature is 🤗 I hope you had a wonderful time in Edinburgh. Will there be a vlog? Would love to see one, but it's ok if you just want to keep it to yourself. I wrote about my trip on my blog. It was a good distraction this week! And now I'm off to watch your October wrap-up 😄
@ Dogs are honestly such little angels. Thanks for that, Katie. It feels so bizarre to not have any pets after having two dogs and a cat for so long, but sadly we just have to accept that their lifespans don’t even come close to ours. I knitted for years but never got good at it. Crochet just clicked for me straight away. I’ve been crocheting and watching TH-cam this evening 😅 I did shoot some video footage in Edinburgh but I don’t have any plans to make any content with it. I hope you haven’t been struggling too much with post holiday blues 💙
@@aiscahill I know. We should just get to keep our pets all our lives. They don't live as long as us because they're born perfect, while we have to learn to be good. That's what I think. I don't know which I prefer yet. Crochet is quicker, but it would take me a while to learn to make a garment with crochet, I think. Will have to try at some stage. I find the post holiday blues are best dealt with by planning another holiday! I'll be going to London next October. Been before, but we want to do different things this time.
So many cosy moments in this vlog. You’ve got me craving ramen and I love that tree at the end! Colm Toibin is an author I really want to read. I have the audiobook of Brooklyn on hold at the library but it won’t be available until May ‘25 😂
At least you have something to look forward to at the end of May next year 😂 I actually bought Brooklyn in Edinburgh - there was a signed copy in one of the stores, and I’ve never read it so it came home with me ☺️
Hi Aisling, great video as always! I am going to Dublin for a long weekend at the end of the month, where can I get information about author talks or events in the city or surroundings? I adore a lot of Irish authors so I would love to check if there is an opportunity to see someone live :)
Oh brilliant, I really hope that you enjoy your trip! Sadly there isn’t really one database that you can search through. I usually attend events through the Irish library system, which are always listed online on library websites. I’m pretty sure that you don’t need to be a member to attend any of their events, and they’re always free, but I think that these events are generally quite rare unfortunately. You can also enquire with individual bookshops - I know that Chapters, Hodges Figgis and Books Upstairs do sometimes run events, and it’s quite possible that other bookshops run events, too. Maybe it might be worth contacting some of them to ask if they know of anything coming up or if some way to find out about events that I’m unaware of. You could search on the Eventbrite website but I’m not sure if you’d find anything of interest there. I’m about two hours away from Dublin so I don’t know the particulars of different venues or organisations there, but it might be worth even just having a google to see if you can find anything that way. Sorry I can’t be of more help. Best of luck! ☺️

Thank you! I think I’ve been to three Claire Keegan events now and I take something new away from each one. She gives really great interviews ☺️
@@aiscahill Wonderful!
🍂 I loved the final shot / closing. Lovely video as always!
Thanks, Ellie! Those trees have always been a firm favourite of mine ☺️
I just love your vlogging style. It’s so cosy and the quotes you read makes me think. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you so much for such a lovely comment ☺️

Thanks so much, Amy. I hope that Lost in Wonder has continued to serve you in a way that’s really beneficial to you ☺️
👏🏽 👏🏽- awwwww agreed 🥹…. We should be the stewards not the destroyers 😭
Absolutely. As bleak as things seem sometimes, I do think that more and more people are coming around to this way of thinking, too ☺️

Oh I hope you enjoyed it, Sara! I went to see the film this past week, too, and am happy to report that I loved it just as much as the book ☺️
