Grew up with Dame Edna on the telly, cannot count the times she bought me to tears in laughter, my heart broke when Barry past away, you will always be in my heart RIP mate, keep them laughing up there😆
Had the privilege of having a 10 minute one on one with the great Mr Humphries during my acting studies. Humble, nonchalant and incredibly charismatic. Dearly missed....
The first time I saw Dame Edna was at the Just for Laughs Comedy Festival in Montreal, and one of her lines was unforgettable. She was given a scarf with pictures of little dogs on it, and she said "they should have given it to Camilla, but they gave it to me." I still remember that more than twenty years later.
I just saw one today on the US Game Show Hollywood Squares. She was asked what women say the most satisfying food was & she answered “probably a zucchini”😂.
What about the clip on a US talk show, where Dame Edna spoke about her husband Norm's rejected prostate transplant, where she said "But you'd think by now he would be used to having his organ rejected."
I once discovered being in the second row of a Sir Les Patterson show wasn't far enough away to not get spat upon. I also nearly cried at Sandy Stone reminiscing. Never saw Dame Edna, but loved her, she seemed uncannily familiar. $0.02
It shows a fundamental lack of knowledge by the script writer. Dame Edna is not a drag queen. She’s a fabulously crafted character and is testament to Barry Humphries’ genius.
Heavens above STOP TALKING!!! Barry Humphries/Dame Edna does NOT need you yapping on 'narrating'. Sush up and let the superb comic timing speak for itself!
Barry was a genius. Unbelievable entertainer. The best ever. Nobody can and never will surpass him. Political correctness will ensure it. Unfortunately, we have lost our sense of humour.
I was lucky enough to see the Dame’s last tour. Barry was as sharp as ever. He will be sorely missed. We will never hear about her fashion designer son Kenny or her husband’s “prostrate”. Thanks for the many years of laughs.
Unbelievable makes me cry watching this that he is no longer with us- what a loss - will comedy ever be the same - what an absolute joy he was ❤️ one of the funniest most clever human beings ever - RIP beloved Barry ❣️
@@rolinti9146 work it out yourself, the word character will help. Barry Humphries was the world's greatest satirist. You may want to look up the word satyr as well.
one of the funniest was when she had k.d. Lang and Trump's ex-wife on at the same time, and she asked k.d. "when did you realise you were - Canadian?" oh my land that was funny
0.57second in and right from the beginning Barry Humphries/Dame Edna was in control. Look at the Body language? Edna's crossed knees were facing the guests. The guests' crossed knees were facing away in a defensive position, even as the interviews began. Marvellous!
One of my favourite Dame Edna moments was when, interviewing Jane Seymour, she said: "Tell me, Jane, you've been successfully married 3 times, what would you say is the secret of a successful marriage?" (Jane took it very well!)
I am not sure who writes the scripts. Dame Edna Everidge is NOT a drag queen. She is a character created and performed by the late Barry Humphries. It’s a shame people don’t understand the different styles, forms and genres in performance. It’s a shame and very sad.
She is awesome and you talked too much! Oh, my goodness, show the clips and let us enjoy and make our own judgments. Dame Edna did not need you to try and make what she was doing special. You are forgiven because you were showing her. Next time do not cross the line.
By definition you're incorrect, firstly, the Dame Edna character can hardly be considered a "typical Australian housewife" however much Barry Humphries convinces you otherwise, and secondly, Dame Edna is literally the definition of "Drag Queen," just a drag queen with a character added by Barry Humphries. DRAG QUEEN: noun a performer (typically a man) who adopts a flamboyant or parodic feminine persona, with glamorous or exaggerated costumes and make-up. So on the contrary, you clearly haven't done your homework...
I thought Barry/Edna should have been cast as Professor Umbridge in the Harry Potter movies. Imelda Staunton was too pretty compared to how Umbridge was described in the books.
It was a sad loss when Barry Humphries passed away. He was genuinely cheeky and funny in a way all Australians were, back in the day. While his main character was Dame Edna Everage, I don't think anyone has ever described Barry as a Drag Queen. It wasn't a drag show performance but a character that Barry would wear a dress for. For the most part, a Drag Queen is much more flamboyant and "put together", whereas DEE was a simple lady from Moonee Ponds (a suburb of Greater Melbourne). I think this clip also missed a golden opportunity to regale your audience to Sir Les Patterson, who was equally hilarious as the male equivalent character in the Barry Humphries stable of characters. But, sadly, we will no longer hear Dame Edna yell across the stage her most unique greeting of "Hellooooooooo Possums" Vale Barry Humphries, we will miss you.
This compilation didn't require any narration. His voice and needless yacking was just so annoying, it ruined the entire video. Thankfully we can watch the clips from other posters.
Barry Humphries' characters were just brilliant! However this video really doesn't do them justice. I don't know how anyone could make such a hash of a tribute to someone of his wit and talent! 🙄
As usual with British commentators - they look at the mist recent and most banal. If you’d bothered to go back a bit to Edna’s audiences both in Britain and Australia - the timing, intelligence, quick wit and sheer depth is way beyond what you showed here
the talked data is interesting ( names and situations ) BUT please better had made ( or please remake !) a longer video with 3times more DameVesuvius uh Etna ? Edna! talkings.... 🎉🎉👍🏻👍🏻🥳🥳🤣🤣🤣😂
I honestly don't understand why people like Mojo. You spend 90% of your time blithering and blathering with infinitesimal snippets of what the video is supposed to be about
What I find concerning is that all the personalities who I grew up being aware of and who have passed are not being replaced by an equal troupe of talent. I've been noticing for a few years that we are experiencing a death of imagination.

Another icon has left us. Rest in peace Barry and Edna.
Seriously... less narration and more Dame Edna please
Exactly x
I'm turning off the narration gets on my wick
Agree
Was going to write this myself. Needless exposition
Anyone watching this would be doing so to laugh at Dame Edna, not cringe at a lot of superfluous chatter.
Edna and Madge, together again. Thank you for giving us so many reasons to smile and laugh. Your work here is done.
Rest in eternal peace, Barry.
“I was born with a priceless gift, the ability to laugh at the misfortunes of others.”
- Barry Humphries
Dame Edna was a hoot! 😂 Always left me in stitches! 😂♥️♥️
Grew up with Dame Edna on the telly, cannot count the times she bought me to tears in laughter, my heart broke when Barry past away, you will always be in my heart RIP mate, keep them laughing up there😆
Barry Humphries/Dame Edna could make ordinary people feel special and special people feel ordinary.
''First starting to grow hair I could sit on'' LOL
No1 without doubt, priceless, 😂😂RIP Dame Edna.
Australia's greatest ambassador to the world Making the world a happier place TO BE IN. We miss you our dear dear Dame. RIP
This is comedy 101, unmatched and timeless 👍👍👍

Edna in the royal box has got to be the best, by far.
Edna on Jay Leno with Elton and Billy Jean King is my all time favorite howling hysterical
What an absolute riot Dame Edna was! Always had me laughing till I cried! Rest in peace! 🫶🏻🫶🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
Barry is a frigging legend..

I love Dame Edna he was such a inspiration of pure comedy even for the royals ❤ I miss him dearly
The most amazing intellect to ever grace the comedy stage.
Watching Dame Edna on the Don Lane Show on school holidays in the early 80s was the number one thing to do!
The interview with KD Lang was one of the best
I once discovered being in the second row of a Sir Les Patterson show wasn't far enough away to not get spat upon. I also nearly cried at Sandy Stone reminiscing. Never saw Dame Edna, but loved her, she seemed uncannily familiar. $0.02
Sometimes twins do get separated.. it's very sad, and they usually find solice in the circus of the stage and celebrities..
❤
I have never heard someone call Edna a Drag Queen be4. I don't think of her that way. More a character. Played for over 50 years.
Just loved Dame Edna
Every one just loved Edna
It shows a fundamental lack of knowledge by the script writer. Dame Edna is not a drag queen. She’s a fabulously crafted character and is testament to Barry Humphries’ genius.
Just a true amazing actor and personality
Heavens above STOP TALKING!!! Barry Humphries/Dame Edna does NOT need you yapping on 'narrating'. Sush up and let the superb comic timing speak for itself!
My absolute favourite is when Edna is on the Michael Parkinson show with Dame Judy and Sharon Osborne. I couldn't stop laughing.
Saw Dame Edna on Broadway in the early aughts. Absolutely hilarious!
Barry was a genius. Unbelievable entertainer. The best ever. Nobody can and never will surpass him. Political correctness will ensure it. Unfortunately, we have lost our sense of humour.
Agree he was a great entertainer may he rest in peace
" Hair I could sit on" had me howling
Dame Edna with Charles and Camila had me rolling on the floor please excuse me they found me a better seat 😂😅😂😅😂
I was lucky enough to see the Dame’s last tour. Barry was as sharp as ever. He will be sorely missed. We will never hear about her fashion designer son Kenny or her husband’s “prostrate”. Thanks for the many years of laughs.
A national treasure.
or rather an international treasure. Her comedy spanned the world.

I'd love to see the clip with Dame Edna and kd Lang again.
Edna with Madge again. We miss you.x
Dame Edna was not a Drag Queen
what was she then?
@@rolinti9146 work it out yourself, the word character will help. Barry Humphries was the world's greatest satirist. You may want to look up the word satyr as well.
I loved Dame Edna. One of the best.
Excellent and very funny compilation! Well-done, creators, producers and narrators❤
No. Too much telling us stuff we already knew or we wouldn't be watching.
her poke at piers morgan was the best
Barry Humphries was the best ❤👏👏👏
I will always think of Dame Edna as a separate and distinct person to the great Mr Humphries, I can’t help it 👏🥲
Brilliant Brilliant 😅😅😅😅😢😢😢😢
one of the funniest was when she had k.d. Lang and Trump's ex-wife on at the same time, and she asked k.d. "when did you realise you were - Canadian?" oh my land that was funny
We miss U And U still making us laugh.
Dame Edna was amazing ❤
the most brilliant comedian in history

Do you need to give a narrative?

❤❤❤ Comedy genius ❤❤❤❤❤
LOVE LOVE BARRY HUMPHREYS!! SO Clever And Whitty. He just made us LAUGH 😂🎉
I just find out that Dame Edna died in April 2023 RIP to her
Way too much yakking in between.
National Treasure doesn't quite do Barry justice.
THERE WILL NEVER BE A WORD SMITH BRILLIANT ENTERTAINMENT AUTHER LIKE SIR BARRY HUMPHREY AGAIN NO NOT EVER MAY HE REST IN PEACE +
One of Australia's greatest exports
She is awesome and you talked too much! Oh, my goodness, show the clips and let us enjoy and make our own judgments. Dame Edna did not need you to try and make what she was doing special. You are forgiven because you were showing her. Next time do not cross the line.
My thought exactly. If anyone does NOT need a narrator it's Dame Edna. All the narrator did was interrupt Edna's brilliant comedic flow.
Call me old fashioned, but, just 10? 🥰
Do your homework - Dame Edna was NOT a drag queen, she was a female character based on a typical Australian housewife....
Yes very true
By definition you're incorrect, firstly, the Dame Edna character can hardly be considered a "typical Australian housewife" however much Barry Humphries convinces you otherwise, and secondly, Dame Edna is literally the definition of "Drag Queen," just a drag queen with a character added by Barry Humphries.
DRAG QUEEN:
noun
a performer (typically a man) who adopts a flamboyant or parodic feminine persona, with glamorous or exaggerated costumes and make-up.
So on the contrary, you clearly haven't done your homework...
So what if she was? She was clever, funny, amazing and talented. I don’t care if she was a dishwasher!
Absolutely 💯
ABSOLUTELY MY DARLING 😊❤
I thought Barry/Edna should have been cast as Professor Umbridge in the Harry Potter movies. Imelda Staunton was too pretty compared to how Umbridge was described in the books.
Legend
More please
Sadly missed.
Charles was brilliant.
I think a young Charles loved the Goons too.
It was a sad loss when Barry Humphries passed away. He was genuinely cheeky and funny in a way all Australians were, back in the day.

Vale Barry Humphries, we will miss you.
Narrator talks too much
All about you, and not much Dame Edna.
Way too much narration! 2:30
RIP, Dame Edna, we will miss you forever.
This compilation didn't require any narration. His voice and needless yacking was just so annoying, it ruined the entire video. Thankfully we can watch the clips from other posters.
if these mojo folks would just shut up and let the video play they would get more views
Barry Humphries' characters were just brilliant! However this video really doesn't do them justice. I don't know how anyone could make such a hash of a tribute to someone of his wit and talent! 🙄
Be nine to hear the Dame not keen on the running commentary
Jesus!!! Enough of the commentating. Your spoiling it!
Stop talking! The top ten Dame Edna moments are completely ruined by unnecessary narration over the clips. Shuuuuuut uuuuuuup! 🤣
Next time: much less David, more Dame Edna.
As usual with British commentators - they look at the mist recent and most banal. If you’d bothered to go back a bit to Edna’s audiences both in Britain and Australia - the timing, intelligence, quick wit and sheer depth is way beyond what you showed here
RIP Barry😢💙
I mean that in the best possible way!
We all miss her😂😅
You talked more than dame Edna
Too much talking over Dame Edna by the narrator.
Less commentary would have been more enjoyable
the talked data is interesting ( names and situations ) BUT please better had made ( or please remake !) a longer video with 3times more DameVesuvius uh Etna ? Edna! talkings.... 🎉🎉👍🏻👍🏻🥳🥳🤣🤣🤣😂
I honestly don't understand why people like Mojo. You spend 90% of your time blithering and blathering with infinitesimal snippets of what the video is supposed to be about
All he ever did was talk ffs! But omg didn't he just have us all wiped out by the end of the show
What I find concerning is that all the personalities who I grew up being aware of and who have passed are not being replaced by an equal troupe of talent. I've been noticing for a few years that we are experiencing a death of imagination.
Video would have thousands more likes and views if there were no narration.
I miss her!
Was that Alanis Morissette? 9:50
Much better without your unnecessary commentary
Dame Edna is DAME EDNA
ID'NT SHE JUST BLOSSOM In2 Some1 WONDERFUL AND MARVELOUS
