You are a life saver. I just started growing brussels sprouts and couldn't find a video on how to transplant the long and leggy seedlings until I found yours. I was perplexed on how to do it. Thank you so much. Keep the great video's coming. You've got a subscriber for life!
That's so sweet, thank you. I've made loads of videos for all sorts of different things. Also follow me on Claire's Allotment Twitter and Facebook. Good luck with your sprouts x
@@clairesallotment You're welcome Claire. A question for you if you don't mind. I know brussels are slow growing but mine seem to be standing still. Can temperature be a factor in this? I live in Texas and it's still pretty hot. An average of 95f during the day. Did I start the seedlings too early? I'll be waiting for your great advice. God Bless ....
@@garyjackson1351 Brassicas aren't too fond of really hot temperatures. What they'll do is slow right down when it gets too hot. When the temperature cools they'll grow again. To be honest when it's really hot I don't want to do much either. Hope this helps x
Glad you found my video useful. When I constructed the raised beds I got a load of soil delivered from the local builders merchant. It was just bog standard soil, but was perfect. Hope you have a wonderful season xx
Keep me posted on their progress. Make sure you cover them with netting once you plant them outside, otherwise the pigeons will have a midnight feast and the butterflies will lay their eggs all over them.
I’m going to try to direct sow my Brussels seeds. It didn’t work in the fall. I suspect the slugs ate them. I use my Sneeboer long handled bulb and potato planter to plant everything.

Thank you for going through this. I’m just about to plant some myself. I have to say your soil looks fantastic.

Trying them for the first time this year because I saw one last pack at the groceryy store. Excited to see what happens with them!
Excellent, keep me posted xx
Excellent video Claire. I love the brassica cage. Your Brussels sprouts are really big already. Well done 💚🌱🌱🌳🌼🌻
I'm very pleased with them this year. Hopefully they'll continue to grow well.
Love how specific you are Claire, I would never have known to plant the stems of brassicas, xx
First of all the garden is beautiful, it was wonderful to catch a glimpse of the girls 🐔
Great vid, thank you. Planting ours out today. They aren't as big as yours but they are rooted and ready to go!
They'll settle in the soil very quickly, and grow substantially in a couple of weeks. Take photos and then you'll see.
Really healthy looking plants. They should take off in there now!

Never directly sown my Brussels seeds, let me know how you get on.
clairesallotment Yes, I won’t try to direct sow anymore Brussels:-)
I must sow mine earlier next year mine frazzled in the greenhouse two years in a row and that's with the doors open 😐
Brassicas struggled last year in the heat, once it cooled down they were much happier.
@@clairesallotment mine done the same past year as well hopefully next year will be third year lucky for me :)
@@KimmysKitchenandGarden Hope they grow well this year for you.
