This game was absolutely amazing, from start to finish. Every chapter kept getting better and better. I did not expect much when I first started playing, but it didn't take long until I was hooked. Another great game by Josef Fares and Hazelight Studios!

Cody and the book actually share a VA, and I for one am impressed.
You don't say mate, when I found out this I was like holy molly they sound almost nothing alike at all, what sorcery is that?
It also slightly makes more sense that Cody is more engaged with dr. Hakim than May in their encounters, and by the end actually respects him and agrees with him that they must help May to make a perfomance.
It makes perfect sense tho! I could tell there was some sort of resemblance in their voices

As a kid whos parents divorced this shit hit so hard
This and a show called infinity train have handled the idea of divorce especially from the mind of a child so maturely and in such a beautiful way I love this game and it will probably be one I will always cherish
What is more is that the game didn't end with the parents saying they won't get divorced, just that no matter what happens, May and Cody will be friends. Though that kiss has me guessing.

@@Mr.Inktail I like that about the ending too. It doesn’t give kids a sense of false hope of their parents are getting back together. That parents can still be civil and they will always care about their children no matter what.

Having parents who divorced when I was young I felt exactly how Rose felt and man this ending still makes me cry. I'm glad my parents were able to become friends but man it's a terrible feeling, and I thought this game captured that feeling perfectly!
I played this with my dad since I’d started playing A Way Out with my mom
Goddamn this game became my favourite simply because I played a fun coop game with one of my favourite people
The constant competition in the mini games, the hilarious fails, the mistrusting tricks we’d pull, and the heart warming teamwork

its the minigames that i love from it takes two, I like a way out characters more
Really good story, and I like the message because really, divorce isn't the only solution, and if there's a chance to reconnect it should be given a shot, even if it ultimately ends up not working well enough to stay together, you may be able to find some middle ground and remain friends. It's especially important when kids are involved, since say what you will, divorce ALWAYS effects the child the most.
I am crying, as soon as she started reading of how rose blamed herself and decides to get away to make sure they can mend it struck something in me. This hit deep!

I honestly hope this wins game of the year. It’s inventive, unique, and manages to be incredibly uplifting and hopeful despite the subject matter. The two lead performances also deserve a lot of applause. They really felt like a real couple going through their problems and rediscovering their love for one another.

Tbh a better message would be to not let your divorce affect your children. If both the parents are a in a relationship they don't want to be in, they shouldn't pretend everything is okay because that's terrible for them, but also don't talk shit about the other one or make your child choose one of you, because that's terrible for the child.

As sweet at this games ending is, and couples who are having rough patches can absolutely work things out, I’d just like to give a shout out to the people who absolutely should get divorced. Divorce can be the healthiest option. There’s nothing wrong with you for getting divorced. Sometimes it’s seriously the best thing you can do.
However, if you get divorced you really need to help your children understand why. And one parent shouldn’t take sole responsibility and the other just fade out of their lives. If you have a kid, you’re responsible for them for as long as they need you. Just because you’re ex spouse and you might not be in a romantic relationship anymore doesn’t mean that you can’t be partners in raising children.
Anyways, just wanted to make sure someone whose gotten divorced doesn’t feel villainized.

I think the reason they didn't was because it'd kind of shit on the entire journey they took together. A magical adventure can't just fix that sort of situation. If it did, it'd cheapen it super bad. By leaving it open (But heavily implied they stay together and work things out) it generally comes out on top.

I played this game with my partner. He picked May, I picked Cody, which was perfect. I can be a bit of a dope, ands he's a neurotic, perfectionist audiophile. Couldn't have been a better match for us. While the game is great (seriously, one of our favourites), this really turns into Mays game by the end. Cody gets a "I'm sorry honey, I should have supported you like you do for me", which is great, but May gets an entire final level dedicated to her perfectionism and how she abandoned her singing career over it, she gets the solo walk onto stage, the song, just so much more attention and focus, and it's the final part of the game. Kind of soured my experience a little, but it brought him to tears, so what the fuck ever, worth it in the end!

I actually played this game over a year ago now with my ex, but we never managed to finish it. Got real close to the end but we broke up just before the last chapter. It came to mind recently and decided to watch the ending. Shit hits deep
Sometimes things don't work out. If there's a chance to go with your ex, maybe it's worth a shot. Then again, sometimes people are better as friends than they are as lovers.

It made me think of someone who is just sitting back high on meth or something
So are they getting back together or are they just comforting their daughter that they will always love her but are still divorced
The journey was what rekindled the love between them and now they are slated to take the steps to become a healthier family and dynamic

in the credits u see everything being rebuild or repaired, which suggest they stayed together.
