When I built them both 1st off a lowered the pilots and R2 unit. I Lowered R2 unit all the way down to the black plate, then the storage on under the pilot I dropped that one plate to sit on the angled plate at the bottom (didn't use the 4x8 plate, built a temp frame). Then used only one plate for pilots seat. This put the pilot 2 plates lower. Hati's was harder as had to swap out a few parts for plain bricks in place of the sos grey brick, she end up being one brick lower, so now sits up a lot more. I added control levers to both ships also, as both on 2x2 seating area rather then the 2x3. I haven't raised the canopys of either of them.
Could you make a modification to Shin Hati’s starfighter too? This really helped me with my E-wing. And I don’t like how high up she is on her ship too.
Needs more of an overhaul really, missing a laser canon on top! Don’t get me wrong I love the fact we finally got a E Wing in live action, but I prefer the original expanded universe E Wing! It was meant to be an X wing replacement, lots of firepower but tougher and more robust, hence why the astromech wasn’t on show on the outside of the ship but buried within behind armour!

To lower the astromech, I simply removed the dark grey 1x2 jumpers. Much easier.
I thought of that but still wanted to keep some attachment spots
