It was great you meet your goal. I have been on Etsy since 2017 and have only sold 7 wreaths. I have taken class after class, I don’t know what I’m doing wrong. I’m about ready to quit but I have so much supplies! Oh well sorry I didn’t mean to unload on you. Again Congratulations
Thank you, Debbie! And I’m so sorry you’re struggling. I hesitate to make videos like this sometimes because I don’t want those who are struggling to feel down about their own shops. It could be many different things that are going wrong. Are your wreaths the style that sells well? Are your pictures high quality? Are you marketing your wreaths off of Etsy through social media and Pinterest to get that momentum? Etsy is a mix of getting eyeballs to your shop (traffic) and making a high quality item that people are looking for. I hope that helps!
Thank you for sharing! Yes important to note that you profit about half of what they have listed as revenue. I did 10k my first year in revenue but all makers do need to understand the fees, cost of good, shipping labels etc and have a real idea of their take home. Im making more items at a higher cost going into this year while also keeping a mix of lower priced items and I can see how my take home will grow in 2022, Bravo, you inspire us all!
Yes that is so important, which is why I always mention that. In previous years I made a point to break down those numbers more specifically, but I haven’t added it it all up yet. But it’s always right at half. You did great your first year! Amazing! Best of luck to you in 2022!

Thanks so much! I only have 3 tutorials in my Etsy shop, so that was a very small percentage of my sales. However, most of my tutorials are in my VIP group and aren’t for individual sale.

I just love your hair, you remind me of pictures of my mom when she was about 22.. congratulations on a good year.. hopefully we can get those ships to unload and get stuff to stores asap... I know first hand Joann's, and Michael's all got truck loads of Christmas stuff the day after Christmas..and have put it on the floors, .. I've been told it might be harder next Christmas to get stuff..so if you can, get to those places and buy just in case. Happy New Year..when is your VIP group open
Oh wow that’s crazy! Good to know, thank you! I haven’t nailed down the exact dates my group is opening this spring, but it will be around late February or early March. Once I get the exact dates, I’ll send out an email to everyone on the waitlist when I have the exact dates. 😊

Hi! Yes, supply issues have been so bad, and I don’t see it getting better any time soon. I have a free cheat sheet in the description of this video of my favorite places both retail and wholesale. Happy to share! The income I showed in this video was just what I earned from Etsy. My TH-cam income and VIP group income is in addition to what I shared in the video. My TH-cam is mainly with my iPhone. I do have lights in addition to that, and Final Cut Pro for my husband to edit. And another thing for music (I don’t remember what it’s called). That’s about all the expenses for my TH-cam channel. Then my VIP group is hosted on my website, so I have a pretty high monthly expense with that, but not too bad.
Hi Jenny thanks so much for your informational videos. You mentioned buying both resale and retail materials. Do you charge tax to the customer when you paid sales tax on retail materials? How do you keep track?
The nice thing about Etsy is they take care of the sales tax! But yes, I charge sales tax.
