Hi Jenny! Good to know I am not the only one that doesn't enjoy the listing process. It can be overwhelming and you make it look so easy. I am one of the orginal VIPs and think you are an amazing teacher! ❤
Jenny, you can tell you are an honest, sincere person. I so appreciate that. I've never made a wreath but so tempted to join your group yo learn from you.
❤❤❤ Love you Jenny, your simplicity, selfless spirit wanting others to succeed, and honesty is obvious and very much appreciated! God bless you always girl!🙏👍👏😉
Jenny thank you for sharing not everybody wants everything. To all my wreath makers keep the faith in yourself and if you want to sell the do so if not enjoy the craft. Remember pay for what they really want. Peace and Blessings🥰
Could you speak to getting started when you are totally broke and can't upgrade your space? Truly broke people have to carve space out of a very small rental apartment, doing double duty in each room. How to safely store/box up supplies and move them around when you need to use the space for cooking, for example, without destroying the supplies you can barely afford.
I started this way. I just worked at my kitchen table with a glue gun that was given to me, and a piece of cardboard covering the table. And I just used one bucket for my florals. And stored that in a corner of my bedroom. As I made sales, I would use that to slowly build my supplies. I didn’t have a wreath room until I was already a full time Etsy shop! I just stored things under beds and in my bedroom. My set up now is obviously way different. But it took a lot of time and hard work to get to this place.
@@JennysWreathBoutique Thank you so much! You clearly understand those of us who have to store our toilet paper IN THE SHOWER stall because there's zero storage in the tiny bathroom... and then just stack it on the toilet when we're using the shower. LOL. I'm so happy for you that you've worked so hard to get this far! You deserve it!
Hi! i just found you and started following you on youtube after researching getting into wreath making. I did floral design for almost 16 years but decided to stay home full time to be with my kids a few years ago. I've done a few wreaths here or there but can you give advice on best place to buy the faux florals and greenery at a good price when starting out? Thank you so much !
Hi there! I love that you decided to stay home full time with your kids! To answer your questions, I actually have a free cheat sheet of my favorite places to get florals and greenery both retail and wholesale. I just shop sales at the retail places to keep my prices down as much as possible. The cheat sheet is linked in the description box of all my videos :)
After my daughter died I started making wreaths. It helped me just tune out. I had know idea what I was doing as far as the business end. I was.Buying retail and selling so fast cause my prices were so low. This was before cell phones and social media it was the 80’s now I’m selling again and I have learned so much. What I would like to ask you is I make so many items and I hand paint on them. It gets really busy and I get really wore out I wanted to now is it best to just make one thing and make it the best it could ever be? I hope that makes sense. I just feel like I’m spread a little thin.
Oh wow, so sorry for your loss! To answer your question, I would focus on what sells best and double down on that. And make sure you have good profit margins so your time spent is worth it to you.
I just started a rag wreath and it looks like it may take me days. I think I will make another kind next time. I was also thinking on one listing it can list sizes but just be able to look at the first size and make it after someone orders.
That’s exactly what I do with new listings. Just make the first one and take pics. Then make the others to order. And I list other size options available, but don’t have pics of those until one is ordered and I can take pics. Much more efficient that way.
@@JennysWreathBoutique Now I have spent a fortune on stuff for wreaths, I would say to make about four. But I decided if these don't sell , I'm done. I can't wait a year or two. I would like to get on some different websites also. The one I have the most faith in is ebay. But I was kicked off because of dealing with China and the items taking to long to ship. But I will try to get on again, like I did before by changing my name, ip address, etc.I still think ebay is the best because things sell right away.
I was in your group when you first started it. I’m needing help on selling as my Etsy shop is not working for me. I’m really considering just closing it but want to see if some guidance on selling will help.
When did you get a tax ID? Did you wait til later.. and beforehand did you just use Michael's and hobby lobby? I'm trying to find quality without a huge price? Is the wholesale waaay better than the 40% or so off at Michael's and hobby lobby? Thanks so much!!!
I got that with my Secretary of State. You don’t have to have it to sell on Etsy, though. Etsy actually remits the sales tax for you for most states now, which is SO nice. Yea, I actually grew my shop to 6 figures a year before I started buying wholesale. I mainly shopped at Hobby Lobby and Michaels. You just have to search for the items that are good quality for the price. There’s great stuff and not so great stuff at all the stores! And no, wholesale, depending on which one’s you shop at, aren’t necessarily better than 40% off at Michaels or Hobby Lobby. Yes, often the quality is better and you have more selection and can buy in larger quantities with wholesale. But I do a mix of both still.
The best time to get deep discounts on Wreaths from Michaels is after xmas. I purchased a $89 wreath for $15. It was outside in a discounted bin in front of the store.
There’s a handful of places that I shop with. I have a free cheat sheet of my favorite suppliers here: Best places to get floral supplies Cheat Sheet: www.jennyswreathboutique.com/wreath-making-supplier-cheat-sheet
When it comes to charging 3 times the amount of supplies/materials, you don’t add anything on top of that I’m regards to labor? And if so how would you determine that amount?
When i was reading rules on Etsy, I thought it said that the items sold on Etsy can't be sold on other sites. My question is, when you mentioned Pinterest, were you talking about posting pictures of wreaths on Pinterest but using Etsy email for people to shop for it only on Etsy? I hope this makes sense. Do you have a course that shows people how to get an email for Etsy so that customers see the wreaths on other sites like Pinterest, Instagram.. but clicking a link goes to Etsy to shop?
You can sell the same thing on your own website. And as far a the email list, that’s not in connection with Etsy. You set that up separately. I have a training all about email inside of my VIP group ♥️.
so when you said 7 wreaths, exactly what do you mean. 7 of the same kind exactly in the same size? shouldn't we wait until the first one sells. I know you want us to do each one in 3 sizes. so should we wait until we have done all that to list? Or can we make a few different kinds and then make all the sizes before we list? How many should I put on a day? How much do you charge for shipping?
Then start small with cheaper product and as you make some sales you can reinvest in better quality. There are some things that are great quality, but are priced low. It can just take some work to find. I like to find a happy medium of great quality but not too expensive that it will make the wreath too expensive.
I’m kinda confused. You say make one wreath, and list one wreath. Then you say make five wreaths. Are you saying, do spin offs from the one wreath? Are you saying only list one wreath design at a time?
I make one wreath, take pics and videos of that one wreath, and list it. But I also will sell that same design from the one listing over and over. And I make them to order, not ahead of time. As for the 7 wreaths, I will make different designs from the same base and take pictures and videos of each one to make different listings. But using the the same wreath and greenery base. And then as those sell, I make them to order. I hope that clarifies what I said.
You mentioned not going to Wreath Makers Live because you don’t do that style. Some of the people that were represented there have similar styles to yours. Is it important to have just one style? Because I do all sorts of designs
I haven’t been there, so I’m not 100% sure actually! That’s good to know. I only know from what I’ve seen online. I thought it was mainly the deco mesh and bow crowd. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with making lots of different styles and learning new things! I think that’s great!
?? That’s weird! I don’t know why. My FB page is @jennyswreathboutique1 because there’s a different FB page without the 1 that’s not mine. Maybe it’s that one?

Hello from Northern MI..
Hello!
How do you keep your materials as fresh as possible?
They’re faux, so they last forever
@JennysWreathBoutique thankyou for your reply. So are they quite weatherproof? I'm from the UK and it's always raining 😆.
How do you know what will be on trend as to greenery and flowers?
I actually do trainings on this exact thing inside my wreath making VIP group! ♥️
how do you join the vip group? i dont see a link
It’s in the description, but here’s the link too www.jennyswreathboutique.com/vipgroup

Where do you get your bulk supplies?
I talk all about that in this video 👉🏼 th-cam.com/video/qI6ZVgRap6o/w-d-xo.htmlsi=c9uyHW55ZzMMBU2c
Hi Jenny. To buy wholesale do you need a business license?
Hello! Yes
oh... where did you get your floral baskets behind you??? :)
They’re from Michaels! I have a wreath room makeover video I posted in January that links the French buckets I use.
Hi, from Sebring Florida

That covers my labor. I have a whole video that goes into more detail in pricing here on my TH-cam channel.
Jenny, Does one require a business license to open on Etsy?
No, Etsy doesn’t require that. I would recommend getting one anyway, but you don’t need it to open an Etsy shop.

I don’t remember as it’s been awhile since I recorded this. But I’m guessing ruscus?
