Yesterday was my second big chop. I have been natural all my life with really long hair, but I have realized that I am not a hair person in the slightest. From 7 years of locs to a full buzz cut, to a fade, I love my hair short👌 (bwt I'm a 3c/4a mix)
I just big chopped. My hair was down my back. I always thought my hair was part of who I was. That it was the only thing that made me feel pretty. I don’t want to hold that insecurity anymore. So I went in my dorm and chopped 85% of it. Now I love it😭
I know this is a long time after your post but your video made me emotional. As a 57 year old woman, I have done battle with the idea of the big chop! I've wanted to do it but I beat myself up because I was weak and indecisive. I have had encouragement from my partner who even hooked me up with his barber! I finally am going to take the leap. I think TH-cam is less how-to but more about inspirational videos like yours. Thank you!

Your hair is soooo cute short. I love short hair, I had a taper cute twice and Loved it more than longer hair. Like they say hair grows back so try whatever style you want boo boo it'll come back
I swear to you I just 2 minutes ago on Instagram saying ladies stop letting your hair define you. Just a few min ago. You look pretty. I cut mine when I feel like it. Prob gonna cut it next spring. ITS JUST HAIR!!

I let a friend straighten my hair and let her convince me shes done natural hair before and the curls would be back. Then she burned all my curls off, and I had been natural for 4 years. 🤣😭 so instead of trying to transition again I just decided to let it all go, big chop part 2 lol. I felt so ugly, I thought I looked like a little boy. I finally started accepting it and realizing my hair doesn’t make me beautiful. I am who I am with or with out it. And then seeing you on my TL one day made me even happier. Now I’m loving it.

Ny I just wanna thank you so so much I recently watched your video of you cutting your own hair yourself in the mirror. I’ve been wanting to big chop for the longest, and I can finally say at 21 years old on November 3, 2018!! I Big Chopped ans it felt so so good, it was absolutely amazing and liberating. I feel like a brand new me, any negativity i just easily listen and not feel a way. I feel as if I can do anything I truly am passionate about without caring what anyone who has anything negative to say. I thank you in advance for that. PS: To anyone who’s considering, or second guessing themselves hunny think real heavy and quick know this is what you want truly, because once you start cutting there’s no going back. Not to sound scary, but just know this it’ll be the absolute best decision you’ll ever make. ❤️
I've been looking at pics, videos, ig posts of big chops lol. I've been natural for years, and while my hair has grown back nice and full, I want to see how much longer it will get. And I want it to be very healthy, most importantly! I want to start fresh!
Soooooo I had my second big chop on August 16th ( for numerous reasons not to be named) lol and I actually loved it at first. Now that it’s grown a bit I’m not feeling it anymore. I want to cut it again but I want some braids so now I’m confused lol. You look great!

I big chopped 2 days ago .. super low like you did. I honestly feel so much better now that I don’t have to deal with the stress of damage. Although I like it, I’m still trying to get use to my face with it lol & I’m still so nervous of what everyone around me will think & if it will grow back how I want.

I did it!! For tooo long I've felt like my hair was a big part of my identity and honestly I wanted to be more than that. I was taking out my braids and they were taking so long so I decided now was the time to cut it all off. Honestly I feel weird. I thought I was feeling more confident and good, but (I know this isn't a measure of anything but still..) for the first time in my life I'm losing instagram followers by the hundreds as I'm putting pictures up, I feel like I can't look pretty without makeup...I feel kinda ugly honestly and like maybe I needed my hair. I wish I felt better about it! It's gonna be a while before it grows back so hopefully I can learn to love it in time!

You know I use to trim my hair but I did not go floating inside the ocean I once went swimming inside an ocean the Pacific the Pacific ya l.p. at alki in Seattle just on the other side of the space needle ya lo ya lo ya lo but I would not swim in the ocean after trimming my lute

I big chopped in July and it’s been growing back so thick but it’s also very kinky and very tight curls so it’s been very hard to do like if I don’t do it it shrinks up and gets really nappy and extremely dry so I don’t know whet to do with it most of the time so I’ve been deep conditioning with lukewarm water it helps but if i think my hair products aren’t working Bc it’s still very dry

I love your hair type, it’s kind of similar to mine in a way, I kind of have a looser curl pattern, like my hair gets super curly, but it’s coarse which kind of makes it the best of both worlds
