Sadly, the Asylum is ONLY in a leaked build of the game from development of Origins. Otherwise I'm sure this would have been discovered years before now.

Something I wished that Rocksteady would've done is they could make it to where you can visit the Arkham Asylum and Arkham City after finishing Arkham Knight. And you don't have to use glitches to get to these places

Yeah I wish they had been made explorable for the ultimate Batman experience, same with the batcave and Wayne manor. Just imagine driving all the way to the Asylum gate or from the batcave to the city emerging through a waterfall or something. That's what I had imagined AK to be like before it released.

This whole thing looks like a Pre-Alpha of Scarecrow's fear toxin.
It kinda made sense to put in the end of the game, it would made for the perfect ending location that foreshadows things to come, also it would be in line with AA audio log that dr. Quinzel first interviewed Joker in the Asylum rather than Blackgate. But ultimately they cut it out maybe because it would be too similar to AA
Yeah but they probably had to cut it because of budget, time and other reasons sadly. That is what holds origin back compared to tge rest of the series. That they fint have enough time to polish the game.

the post credit interview with Sharp would make sense for Asylum to be in Origins. Maybe a gameplay section in cold cold heart?

I love how, they didn't even or got time to change anything about Asylum, it looks exactly same, even down to the skybox. It looks you just modded Origins' outfit and U.I. in a glitched-out version of Arkham Asylum.
Maybe it was cut very early in development or it was just replicated there to get some files and characters.
So wait, Joker is playable in the leaked build and he has a unique remote bomb gadget? They had to have wanted him to playable in more of the game. I just don't understand how he was never made playable for challenge maps. But nooo, we get playable ninja Bruce. Like who the hell asked for that?!
Devs did say we were gonna have fully playable villains and free roam with them.

Yeah joker was going to be a super unique character with his own skill tree and different abilities. If you wanna learn more I heavily suggest you ask darksheep in the arkham modding facilities or batman arkham videos server
loved knight but i kind of wish that there was an actual scarecrow boss fight within the arkham mansion.

This is wild to learn but it also makes sense to have us actually see the reopening of the asylum, have harley metting joker in arkham stay canon, and just tie up the story in a way that links it to the rest of the series even better.
Based on what we know they had planned and stuff like this where we more have to guess, i just wish we got to see/know the full scope of their original ideas.

You're saying as if this could've been a deleted section of the game, but couldn't it just be Arkham Asylum leftovers that they forgot to delete? Like, they did find the 2007 suit in the files of the development build.
Funny enough, the 2007 suit wasn't just left in the game files, it was in the Batsuit chamber in the early builds alongside Worst Nightmare
Pretty sure they wouldn't have locked the doors or added reminder text for the dev team if it was just leftover stuff. We'll never know for 100% sure tho
Maybe they needed an open world to test stuff out and the one they had didnt work

Damn, they should have probably dropped the multiplayer and focused fully on the sp story. Origin is very close to being an amazing game, just bugs and clear signs of rushed development that holds it back.
It seems like the issue was that WB wanted Arkham Knight to be their first Next Gen game on the Ps4/Xbox, as you can tell how badly it was downgraded on the Ps3/360. It didn't help how rushed they were to meet the small deadline they had.

I think, I remember hearing that dialogue in Asylum, I think it was meant to be what other Arkham stuff thought of Quincy Sharp's murders of the patients.

I don't think this was intended to be in the final game at all in the story.
In my opinion, this most likely is probably a leftover from using the source code for city. There could have been a few asylum assets left in there like the map

So I think I'm going crazy but after replaying origins for a bit with the long halloween skin I started to realize something. The more I played there was something off with the Long Halloween cowl, it seemed familiar... then it hit me... It was a modified Arkham Asylum (or city) cowl, like the actual model for the cowl. The long ears, the details on the side of the head and the back muscles. I might be going crazy but it wouldn't be the first time they reused stuff from city but I didn't expect them to reuse stuff from asylum (maybe).
I guess that why they called it " ARKHAM ORIGINS " it was going to be the origins of the asylum
