That’s so incredibly cool. I wish you and your writing nothing but the best!!! And don’t get too discouraged with job hunting stuff-it’s a brutal process, but if you hang in there, something’s bound to turn up (I know that sounds like an empty platitude, but it’s infuriatingly true)
Clicked on this video from my TH-cam recommended page, this is the first time I’ve seen your channel but I’m really glad I decided to watch this video. I’m very much in the same place of hating my stagnation but feeling unable to change it, feeling like I came out of my education without a real understanding of exactly what I want or who I want to be, feeling “forgotten by the system”. This video made me feel more normal for what I’m dealing with rn cause it’s what a lot of people deal with. I haven’t really listened to Ave Q since before college but I think I’m gonna after watching this video.
you're my favorite niche youtuber/artist!! i find the way you talk about media very compelling, and you even convinced me to watch inside job. i think that's the impact that shows how much of an art videos are. it kills me how much art especially in fandom is considered content. the things i like about fandom are people connecting and discussing things they liked or disliked. in a word where media is being churned out by studios or cancelled by execs left and right, i think a video sharing about something you find interesting or impactful enough is some of the most important art we have.
I liked the old school anime reviews, they were thoughtful and relaxing. Especially the ones with surprising strong female leads like Nausica or Porko Rosso.
I'm learning to rekindle my creative spirit after college and covid lockdown put me in over half a decade of burnout with some extra neurodivergent trauma for seasoning. Thank you for making this and thank you for the validation tackling the idea that "unoriginal" stuff like video essays and reviews aren't worth making
Hey, 1st essay of yours. Just wanted to say this was very polished and well stated. I think a lot of us are working through the process of meaning making and trying to figure out if our dissatisfaction is manufactured or genuinely should inspire change. Just wanna say props for working through it in public. Congrats on your creative expression!
I don't have any witty or profound comment to make, but I figured I could at least let you know that I look forward to your vids. Some have even brought perspective to troubles I've had. I don't know about repetitive, but the day gets a little better when I see you uploaded 👍
As someone who loves avenue q really great video! I had my quarter life crisis a few years ago and I've definitely seen there's an increase in young adults feeling underachieved. Or maybe it's a part of the human condition. At this point, I'd rather be a dinosaur.
The only thing that stood out to me about House was the episode that said asexuality was a problem that could be explained away with tumor. Or the episode where a genius was taking DMX to literally dumb himself down and he started sobering up admits that he thinks so little of his wife that he compares her a monkey.
There’s a reason why fans of the show have nicknamed it “Hate Crimes M.D.” The asexuality episode is a big ole yikes, and the writers act like being a tortured genius is a barrier to entry for basic happiness. That being said, the way it tackles a topic like chronic pain is endlessly fascinating to me. The show is definitely flawed, but I’m nothing if not a sucker for flawed media.
I got a job. I'm better now.
At least someone around here does😅😊🎉
Also want to say that you are huge inspiration for me and my writing

Another banger video as always

“Don’t let the French man win” fucking killed, just finished Nausea and hated how much it related.

So Jenny, what are your favourite musicals of all time, if you don’t mind me asking?
