Yeah, poor old Ritchie hurt his leg during the Falkands War, not in any of the fighting though, he tripped over a coffee table trying to turn the telly over.
“What did you do during the war Spudgun?” “Nothing really, I was unemployed” “Oh that’s very convenient isn’t it 🙄😒” “It is actually, I live round the corner from the dole office 🙂”
I’ve never understood the repeats of what was said ?? Not having a pop or anything but why do people do that ? Like say what was said in the video. Is it for depth people. I’m curious as it’s a bit odd
@richkavanagh2778 Well, it's good writing and it's to potentially garner a conversation from enthusiasts who have appreciation for whatever it is that's been written.
I can't say why, but I love thththththth-interesting. It's copying the speech pattern of a certain type of character in old films. Like a foil in a Terry Thomas film
Pretending to be a War Veteran | Bottom | BBC Comedy Greats 1919pm 24.6.22 hmmmmmmm... he's got a rucksack (rucksack being the most popular word in the english language) he must be feigning to be a swaddie... anyhow; maybe this hits the spot!!!!
Funny thing is that everyone knows Richie is full of shit, but he’s so desperate to look better than everyone else he’ll continue to yell and belittle people no matter how bad it makes him look. Even Eddie doesn’t like him, but he takes advantage that Richie is incredibly lonely and gets to live at the flat for free.

Absolutely brilliant Bottom.
Bloody great comedy, makes me laugh all the time..
10 years I fought in the Falklands, 10 long years 😂
“Daffodils?”
“It bloody well is you know”
“Are you calling me a liar?”
“No I am calling you a tosser!”
This is probably my favourite Bottom scene and there are several that are up for contention. I could watch it over and over.

Youve gotta be comedy cool to get this one :)
@@mcfcguvnors Oh, I get the smegging reference. 😉
So Kryten began with a carved leg and just carried on from that...
Still my favourite episode even after all these years. Great script writing " looks like a very small penis" absolutely classic rib breaker!
and damn tragic how America never seen how awesome funny this show was and likely never will
Kryten from 'Red Dwarf'.
Grew up watching both shows and it took me so long to realise this
No, "George Cross"!
Oh it was him was it? Well... you should've known better, mate!

Richie did go to the Falklands in 82, there's film of him in his army fatigues in the young ones episode Bomb.
