I'm gonna explain the reference: so in first movies, they wanted to make live Logan character fit the comic wolverine height by using camera tricks to chop his real height by no shooting his legs in many scenes, camera angles ,even using fake floors in xmen 2000 and wolverine origins. that's why you can see that Logan hairstyle and clothes match those movies timelines.
