Marcinowsky Yea, I learned to ride without hands in no less that 30 minutes. After that, I attempted to wheelie, and boom, I got the basic movement of that little burst of pedaling as soon as you lift the bars
i tried to take my hands of then put my right hand on my left grips and my bike went otb but because i watched seths bail video i landed on my feet and ran out of it like a fucking bodd
Riding with no hands and eating a takeaway at the the same time .... brilliant !!! Riding no hands down a few steps is even more impressive... you are the King of bike skills entertainment !!!
I discovered your channel a week ago and since then, I have been watching your videos in a row. It inspired me to revive my rusted old bike and learn stuff like bunny hops and wheelie, thanks for that. But this, its on a whole another level. Need to practice this. Salute.
I love most of Seth's tutorials - Manuals, Bunny Hops, etc. because they really break things down into small steps, but this one misses the mark and doesn't provide the key piece of information - to sit up and then lean back a little to unload the front wheel a bit. When your center of gravity is back over the saddle, suddenly the bike seems to steer itself. It took me years to clue into this simple fact, and now no handed riding has become second nature. If you don't believe it is this simple, first try leaning back before letting go of the bars, and then try to lean way forward over the front wheel and attempt (briefly) to take your hands off the bars...
I should point out that having your forks bent or offset so they are slightly behind your front axle, helps a tremendous amount. It is not necessary, but it makes the ride a lot more stable.
The turning all has to do with your weight shifting on the bike. You shift your weight to either side while still keeping your torso and the majority of your weight centered over the bike in order to avoid tipping. Hopefully I helped :)
ツneljetski ya i dont know why everyone is acting like this is hard I learned no hands only one year a after learning how to ride a bike although I could go very far that only takes very little practice
when i was a kid, this was a huge deal for me to learn. i saw this teen girl (i was about 9 at the time) 'reading' or pretending to read while riding a bike. i thought '.....no way. i need to learn this' and with practice, soon i was able to do it too. it was a confidence wall that i broke through when i learned that. it made the bike feel like part of me for the first time instead of just like a tool i was trying to use.
This actually reminds me of the time I tired with no hands. I did it a whole bunch of times, but this time I fell off and just REKT the left side of my face
Well swearing isn't something that will improve his video's content or give more caracter as you said. In my opinion it is better not to swear because not only is it not nice and unessecary to say "Fuck" and "shit" every now and again but he also sounds like a douchbag
Just saw this for the first time...Finally, a trick I can do! I've ridden for literally miles at a time no handed on my road bike, even downhill at 30mph+. Just yesterday I was riding my fatbike down the beach no handed, which got a lot of looks. I haven't tried stairs yet, I'll have to give that a go. And yes, the trick is to lean back a bit and get some weight off the front, so it's less likely to be upset by imperfections in the road.
I taught myself years ago...and used it to do laps on the blacktop in Newport Beach. The fun part is doing the turns and steering...it's all in squeezing the seat. Your adductor muscles play a big part.
i used to ride my bike with no hand since i was 8 year old. So now im 16 and i can do petty much anything. I now ride my 6.3 mile or 10 kilometer trip from my house to my high school and back. it's pretty awesome with uphills and everything.
Easiest way to learn to pedal with no hands are to not pedal and spread your knees open while sitting down. Then you get used to opening your legs up. Helped me a lot.
Easiest way I found to learn this was a lot of 1 handed turns. Once comfortable with that, with your 1 dominate hand, hold the centre of the stem(middle of the handlebars) and turn that way and slowly hoover your hand away while peddling.
I'm an architecture student and I used to ride with no hands to transport my models on my bike. It was really fun until one time I fell and the model broke just before presenting it. Worth it though.

I just burst it out laughing when I saw you had a whole meal in one hand and a tripod in another. I've never seen anyone do that on a bike in public. 😂
I was always so afraid to ride no-handed. Everytime i lift off my hands, the bike would turn to the left/right and i would lose my balance. After 2 months of riding, i learnt that its all about the momentum because where you ride slow, your bicycle will not balance properly.
I've been able to do this for a while, but ten weeks ago I found myself in the air after hitting a speed bump on a steep hill, I got away with 16 abrasions all over my body, 2 stitches in my chin and a broken bike. So have fun with this, but don't die :)
In Hungary if you go no hands you'll get stared and yelled at cause it's illegal. One time I almost fell off my bike cause some dude got next to me with his car and just screamed: "HOLD YOUR HANDLEBARS!!!"

Once you learn no handed you feel so much safer on the bike
Rob Dog right
Rob Dog yeah I noticed it too. It's easier to learn how to wheelie etc. too.

I should point out that having your forks bent or offset so they are slightly behind your front axle, helps a tremendous amount. It is not necessary, but it makes the ride a lot more stable.
I only managed to develop this skill after pushing my bike for some good distance by pushing the saddle in the desired direction :D
Randy Baker it's all he had time to do the tutorial
I am a pro biker that rides no handed, but I still don't understand how you turn so quickly and slow down no handed..

watched the video learnt ridding no hands... went down a hill..broken wrist.. thank you
The fact that you lived in Tampa and we rode the same Streets is fucking awesome man
Just think. Seth’s daughter years from now is going to see these ancient videos.

i lost my shit about the duck. LMAO
I surprised the bike can hold the weight of his steel balls after going down stairs with no hands
Its easy lol
3 months later i am now a master at this. I even requested my dad to buy me a unicycle! Thanks mate.

ツneljetski I learned it within like a month of learning to bike
When I tried it for the first time I immediately got it
Good for all of you.
yeah i didnt even have to practice it just came naturally to me, like one day i just tried it and i was able to do it

it seems like downhill is the easiest place to do it.
yes to be honest it is hard to pedal if you dont know how to shift your weight so you will get more speed and stablility going downhill

Your adductor muscles play a big part.
I used to think it was cool until a cop gave me a ticket for riding to school with my hands in my pockets at -10.
Jose Rene Ducharme you should know that riding with no hands it s not legal, you have to hold at least one hand on the handle bars

Mathieu Mansire well i didnt say up the stairs but uphill it not that hard
ah lol yeah uphill , depends on the hill , i think you lose much energy going uphill no hands tho
Mathieu Mansire its possible with a small enough gear
its so easy I do that when I'm so tired
Easiest way to learn to pedal with no hands are to not pedal and spread your knees open while sitting down. Then you get used to opening your legs up. Helped me a lot.

Zahari Stoyanov yea true😂 it's always funny to see them fall tho
Well... In NL, you are *born* on a bike, so any bike handling feats are a second nature.
Easiest way I found to learn this was a lot of 1 handed turns. Once comfortable with that, with your 1 dominate hand, hold the centre of the stem(middle of the handlebars) and turn that way and slowly hoover your hand away while peddling.
BUt leaning over the handlebar to grab it disrupts your balance so I don't think that's a good piece of advice.
Riding a bike and eating is not a very good idea. You could get something stuck in your throat. Ride safe
FinEmp you must be a blast at party's.
Eating is a bad idea. You could get something stuck in your throat
if you see this in 2020 you are legend
I came to learn how to do it then he says "practice doing that on your own". wow i wasted 1:27 of my life!
Tooniis+ wow 1 and a half minute what a nightmare
its really easy.. practice going downhill and taking your hands off. you'll keep going. then practice on flat ground while pedaling
Live 4 the memes die 4 the memes I was able to do it before but when I replaced my front tire to a thinner one it became much harder.
Tooniis+ same here, I'm still getting back into it
Its easy u fuckass
