Happy with you showing more skills content in a single video, but missed seeing April's progression/learning. Part of what I love about this channel (and in my view makes you much more relatable than most other content generators out there in this space) is that we get to see April struggle with the same issues we do and then hear from Kyle with his brilliant way of breaking down what April has done and how to fix it. To me this is the real gold of your channel and what keeps me coming back. (Sorry for talking about you both in third person, but didn't know how else to explain it).
Thank you so much for this message, we really do appreciate the feedback. April and I went out to film a normal how to video where we try to teach her the skills but with the weather in Idaho being so cold and windy lately we started filming the first few Skills and then when the wind kicked up we couldn’t get useable audio with our microphones. We tried to make our lemons into lemonade and film things without Audio and then I wrote and scripted voice over. The plan is to continue to make some more how to videos in the normal style as soon as the weather cooperates :)
A fakie tutorial would be great! I’ve been practicing but still can’t hop out of it. Thanks
You guys are just awesome!!!
Easy to understand techniques.
Like the way you explain
And if she can do it, why can't I...
Enjoying your vids.
God bless both of you 🙏👍
Looks fun!!
Have you done a skills video showing the smoothest way to ride over a log that could be on a trail? There's a technique where you tap the front tire and kind of hop to rear tire? Sorry I'm not sure of the technical name. Lol
Hey Jb! Closest thing we have to that would be an early rock up and over progression session we did back in June but we will definitely tackle the whole log thing soon!
Great video, guys! Those are really cool moves. Nothing against this video, but one of the things that I really enjoyed about the other style is that it highlighted Kyle's coaching style. Coaching your significant other is fraught with traps and you guys avoid them.
Thank you for the feedback Paul! This style definitely wouldn't replace the original coaching style, but wanted to see if you guys would enjoy it every now and then.
@@AprilRideMTB in the case of switching up styles and keeping it interesting, it totally works! I'm impressed by your ability to keep your videos visually engaging and entertaining.
Tha track stand train me is super good
Beautiful video! :-)
I learned wheelie with my friends
Hey Everyone! Hope you enjoy the video! We are out at an event this weekend and may not be able to respond to as many comments right away but we are gonna do are best to catch up later tonight! You guys all rock so much! Thank you for everything
Thank YOU for everything. You guys are so happy that your happiness crosses my screen to touch me, and now you've made my day (again xD). Thank you for teaching me tricks to do, you guys definitely are the ones who made me upgrade my game the most. ❤️
Just started getting into mountain biking. These are THE best tutorials. Thanks from Australia guys
WAY more productive than watching the impeachment trial.🤣 Your presentation always has emphasis on enjoying bike riding, as well as the technical. All the best!!
Glad you enjoyed it! Thank you so much! Yeah we love being a tiny distraction amongst all the craziness happening out there haha. You guys are the best!
"You can learn anywhere"
EVEN IN BATHROOM?
Another great video. Defo going to try the foot plant next time I'm out!
Interested in the pizza hop, would a video about basic trials skills be a possibility?
Yeah thats a great video idea Alex! I just wrote it down on the list! Thanks so much man!
hha i remember my self learning wheelie in a small closed of garage because it was raining (damn ) sure as hell wrecked the garage
Haha that’s so rad! Yeah winter makes us resourceful, I learned a bunch of tricks in my room back biking when I was growing up haha
These really have helped my wife gain confidence to enjoy mountain biking more. Thanks for spreading the stoke!
This was definitely the best explanation and tips I’ve ever seen for how to do a track stand. I love how you give multiple personal tips for each trick and I can’t wait to try them out
Fakies are so hard for me . . but they unlock a lot of cool mtb / bmx tricks so I'm determined to get it!
You will get it! It takes a lot of muscle memory haha! That flinstone drill will help a ton :)
@@AprilRideMTB Update: Can fakie no problem now. Half-cab also unlocked. Still working on my roll out from 180's though :D
Track stand is fun bc we do slow races and I win every time.
It’s so cold here in Arkansas until wednesday, the last one would be a good thing to do inside the houSe maybe hHahhaha I told my hubs to clean the bike first 🤪
Careful with turning hydraulic line, e.g. from brakes, upside down
Tips on how to not fly off the pedals when jumping? I have flats with big spikes but it still does not work
That has been one of my big struggles too. I definitely don't have it all figured out yet, but the best advice I have found (poking around on TH-cam) is to focus on getting your weight forward over the handlebars.
One of the biggest factors seems to be having your weight over the back wheel. The bike can't complete its arc properly & the pedals won't chase the feet like they are supposed to.
Another thing that contributes to your feet coming off is not pumping the face of the jump. If the lip kicks your back wheel up and you are just coasting over a jump it can buck the bike, which might initiate your feet to come off. (This seems like a weird balance between letting the back wheel go all the way off the lip & not being lazy with your legs. I.E. Pumping & letting wheel go all the way up the lip at the same time.)
I'm still trying to work this problem out myself though. Getting my weight forward seems to do the trick if I have the right amount of speed. I still struggle with my feet coming off when I need to help "boost" the bike, or if I get lazy.
It took a lot of effort to find advice about this online, so thought I would try and share my experiences with that issue.
@@deviate6420 damn. Thank you so mutch for the effort and help. I will try this on my trip tomorrow!
Track stand pizza hop turn would be good to go into more depth. Liked the format. Keep up the great work!
Nice, that explains some of the stuff I saw in Danny MacAskill's Wee Day Out!
Amazing video, thanks guys. I’m currently working on my fakie and reverts as they’re the weak part of my 180s - It’d be cool to ride backwards a bit further rather than reverting straight away. Going to put some time into this for sure! Definitely going to try the magnet hop and bike spin too - these sort of little jib moves are basically my favourite things to do on a bike. Keep up the great content!
You forgot the face plant. Something that can be learned quite intuitively, especially as a beginner.
I got my first MTB after years of not riding a bike. So kinda learning to even balance 😅. These tricks were great. Any trick to ride a bike off the saddle?
Great stuff here kids!! Those bikes are looking HOT also ;)
Thanks so much Rich! Hope you have been doing awesome man!!! Can’t wait to ride with you this year!
I really like this video style. It's quick _and_ informative _and_ fun to watch!
That was fun! I think a video explaining the Fakie more in depth would be useful as I'm working on that skill right now. I manage to do a really good one on my third attempt in my "Night Ops" or "Old Man ~ Fat Bike 41" video and I was super stoked that I was able to actually do one! It seemed very easy at the time but now I'm trying to do more of them and I'm really struggling and I don't know why?
Keep up the videos maybe try go back the that endo 180
Yeah that would be fun! We will for sure do a follow up! April is still struggling with it so we could try to get it down finally!
Man my bike is heavy 🤣
I'm impressed on how fast April gets the stuff done.
I've been riding for 2 years and I still suck at it. #respect
I really like your tutorials. Great job!
Cheers from Brazil.👍👍✌️
Thank you so much Rodrigo! That means a lot! Just keep having fun and you will improve a ton! April has 10+ years of motorcycle experience so that helps her learning curve a ton!
He showed me how to do a track stand in real life that was the best day of my life getting a pic with them and helping me do a track stand
We had fun hanging out with you guys, hope to see you out there again!!!
Don't forget me if this channel hit million sub plsss
Love from the Philippines ❤️
Gobsmacked! How Kyle does not lose his ‘equipment’ is a total mystery to me. These moves look like you’d find bits of him all over the car park! But…I might have to try one……
I like the multiple skills in one vid but if the went a little more In Depth for each skill that would be great. But great vid and it helped me learn some cool tricks to do when I’m bored🙃👍
hello this frame is good for build? i think maybe take one for build its good option?
haha thanks for that im deffinately gonna try the back biking to practise my whips
It’s a great format for more “simple” tricks like this
Thanks Art! Yeah we got out to do the video and the wind was so bad we couldn’t really get any useful audio so we figured we would try this style :) glad you liked it!
Trackstand, Pizza Hop, rest ist useless on trail....
It's compulsory tobhave a MTB bike or other
World's no.1 MTB online coaching class (Kyle & April - Ride MTB)
I am Using Mtb Now bmx Now i am using Mtb New modle 8 gears
Thank you guys for all the helpful videos you make!
Do you have any plans for switching to clipless pedals?
Hey Dmitry! Yeah i ride mtb with clips and hopefully we can teach April this year too!
Me encantan sus videos tienen cosas que no he visto en otros canales de TH-cam 😃
I know people say you can do it no matter the bike but, those would break my bike. or just not be possible.
If you are wondering it is a 2003 Jamis exile. Very used and now a size too small.
At least you could practice trackstand and footplant? It is hard sometimes with equipment but my first bike was a $70 schwinn mtb from toys are us and that thing made it through a lot haha!
After 'APRIL' my birthday is in May.
Is the Suntour Fork good? I am going to get a XCR Air..
How can I do the magnet hop if I have clips 🤣😭
Thank you very much again guys ! This was awesome ❤️ I would love to see a dedicated video for Fakies since you mention it. Greetings from Greece 🇬🇷
Ok awesome will do! The fakies are so much fun! We will definitely do a full video on it!
Great video guys! Thanks for keeping me not bored while it’s snowy. I’m gonna try to get a dj so I’ll need to try the upside down technique. Also the twister bike thing... I have no words but I need to learn it 😃
No worries Kade!! Thanks so much for watching! Yeah the bike spin is so much fun!!
thanks now im in hospital and check out my youtube channel
Awesome video 😁. no love for the haters. " finger " 🤣😂🤣😂🤣
Can u make a touturial how to 180 turn with Mountainbike?
Wow! As a beginner, I am really, truly impressed about the skills demonstrated here! #Kudos #Respect
Lots'a love, cheers, & Mabuhay, from tropical Philippines!
Thanks so much Yeng! Hopefully you can apply some of these and have a blast! Thanks for watching the videos!
@@AprilRideMTB I will train as I am willing & able! Thank you for the encouragement!
Can you do details for each please? Thank you
These are really cool! You should do an in-depth video of each one separately.
Great video. Great format. Lot’s of lower lying fruit that will up my MTB skills...stoked on that!
After 13 years i still don't have good bicycle but i have motorized bike at least i can drive it on asphalt opened roads and i have car too 6 cylinder Toyota
imagine having same shoes and clamp pedals couldnt me
I hope soon ill have a bike like you i want to bike but we cant afford it
Another cool share. Thanks Kyle and April! I have a suggestion. I'm not sure if you've done this or if you can relate. Since biking with my BMX to road bike to MTB (and folding bikes), I made it a point to also train how to do quick dismounts and bailouts. In other words, trained how to crash and get away without injuring yourself. One time I was traveling down a very muddy road (there was a heavy downpour earlier ) and couldn't slow down since it was really slippery and a 90˚ turn was coming, I tried my best to slow down without sliding out of control. Then as I was trying to turn still while it was still fast, the front wheel landed in a deep rut and lost control but somehow by instinct (muscle memory), I kicked off my pedals and pushed back my bars under me and flew over the bars but since I practiced doing rolls a lot and visualized it, I landed on my hands and did a forward roll and ended up on my feet.....quickly picked up my bike and rode aways as if nothing happened.
That is a great idea for a video! I need help learning how to bail to honestly so maybe we could partner up with someone on that vid! I know Seth bike hacks is great at bailing so that would be such a fun collab haha
2 wheels carry our soul! It's a very nice video, I'm an electric mountain bike rider, I live in the Netherlands, I'm still waiting for my new channel. Good luck with my love.....
the bike your using, can you use it on long rides?
Interesting video! I will try it! 👍👍
Very interesting these skills also for regular cyclists.
I have several bikes in use, and do some mtb.
Practising these kind of, save to learn, skills helps to improve safe driving on a normal bike to.
I'm 64 and do a lot of off road riding with mtb or normal bike also for this reason and sometimes practising slow moving around barriers or a stop standing on the padels and so on.
Please make a fakie and out of fakie video. I've been trying the skill for a couple of days (1 hour each) and can't dial the way out.
We will add it to the list, don't get discouraged too quickly though! Some skills take many hours to perfect and some come quicker.
Can we get a "how to tracks tand" in the playlist?!
that's cool I'll try it when all this snow is gone I used my manual trainer to practice the tract stand it helped alot.thanks for the video
Wtf is a 180 foot plant its called a pivot turn
Pizza hops and foot pivot turns are essential to learn for Emtb. I'm not sure how easy it would be to spin a 360 pirouette on an XL haibike nduro but im going to try that one . looks really cool.bet it looks twisted in a cloud of dust. Must learn
Bro my cycle is weight for me what I can do my cycle TURBODRIVE and no not having gere cycle
its kinda random but can you do a how to lawn mower
Plz make a separate video about the pizza hop
love this video but hate the tan walls. can't wait for that trend to die
Haha yeah, it was all that was in stock at the moment! Black tires will be back soon!
You guys are the best teachers!!! No one tells it so easy and yet with so much precision 👍🏻
Very attractive tutorials! Keep up enjoying your selves and us with your videos!
this is cool, now i need someone else's bike, dont wanna scratch mine hahha
Boys don't try magnet hop🤣🤣
I've never tried any of those tricks! Looks super fun✨I should try from trackstand first! Thank you;)
Thanks for the comment Yuka!! Have fun! We hope we can ride and meet you guys sometime this year :)
First time I hear someone calling "Backbiking" to the standard way dirtjumpers and slopestyle bikers use to visualize new tricks. Sounds cool Kyle!
Great tips and nice! I like that you two with different skill levels are showing the same thing..
I like this video it learn useful skills
These are skeeeeels? 😨 They are shhtunts 😮
When the sun comes up tomorrow I’m going to start working on the fakie. Thank’s for the encouragement!
wait a sec how am i this early to a video ??
WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW
I have a mountain bike and when I try to do the pizza hops my bike feels to heavy to hop off the ground. Can you give me some tips to fix that.
Hey! Yeah that can totally happen haha. No worries at all though. Practice some rear wheel lifts if you can. That foot motion is almost the same that you will use for the pops :)
