    Aren't you smart to use fleece! Another excellent tutorial, too.
    Btw, this past several weeks has caught me recommending your videos (again!) to several people. It seems to happen in phases 🙂 A lady at church, a lady at Walmart, a lady at my local thrift store, etc.
    I am so grateful to God for allowing me to find you, Jayda. You see, I found your channel in 2018 after my health took a nose-dive. Also, my husband was, and still is, very sick. My kids since that time have also had issues. Through it all, the Lord has used you and your channel to teach, help, inspire me, and give me the ability to create in order to bless others make some nice things for myself as well. I really appreciate all the work you put in to making your creations, and Mr. In Stitches work on the tech side. You've both been a blessing to a lot of people. Thank you.

      @@Anon_85 Annabelle, I just now noticed your comment. I didn't mean to slight you. Well, it turned out and it didn't, but that's my fault. I was going for the green yarn, like a normal person would, then saw a small ball of multi-colored yarn that I'd had left over from another project. I thought it would be fun, so I used that. Of course, it doesn't look like a cactus at all, as one might imagine. I made it, but I don't know what it is. It's a thing of some sort. lol

    • @JaydaInStitches

      Yes, don't attach it at the bottom edge, only the top edge and along the inside of the front openings. This means it can move more freely when you wash it down the road in the yarn stretches or shrinks, because the lining won't. 😊

    If I wanted to add a jersey material (t-shirt) as a lining to the inside of a crochet shawl (wide enough to cover shoulders and upper back...18"???), should I tack the material down throughout the middle of the shawl, like quilting or just stitch around the edge only and leave the entire middle unattached? A friend of mine is making the crochet shawl for me and I was going to add the lining to help protect and make it sturdier for everyday use.

    • @JaydaInStitches
      @JaydaInStitches  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Paula, jersey isn't going to shrink, but a larger lining will want to move around a little. I recommend you go with your idea to tack it here and there (like quilting) across the middle just to keep it from shifting around 💗

    • @caitlinfarmer9901
      @caitlinfarmer9901 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I was asking myself this, i would keep the yarn side on top so it didn't catch in the feed dogs making my machine extra fuzzy. She also mentioned she kept her stitch length long because both pieces are thick, so that would be something to play with also, its definitely something that can work though.

      Hello I had made a quilt for a bed I crochet some roses sunflower and I wanted to put fleece on the bottom so I sold it on the sewing machine with heavy duty thread like will to thread and did a blanket stitch a loose Stitch it turned out nice. But you have to have the feed dog varaluz and a very big needle or a large needle like a leather needle so it won't get stuck in the feed dog. Whenever I figure out how to show it if it's okay with the lady of the show I would show it if I know how I don't know how to do that

    What is the best yarn to use for a granny square? One that doesn't look like it is fussy after a while

    • @JaydaInStitches
      @JaydaInStitches  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Terry, any yarn you like really, it depends on what the project is going to be. If you are making a scarf that will get a lot of wear, cotton, nicely wound acrylics, they're great (wool too if you can stand it). For blankets, cottons, acrylics, blends, anything that washes easily etc. :)

    Do you need to make adjustments for the stretch of the fleece? Or does that not matter??

    • @JaydaInStitches
      @JaydaInStitches  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Michell, I would say no as fleece isn't terribly stretchy (just enough to make it easy to work with!)

  • @njbyrd1617
    @njbyrd1617 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Jayda, seeing that you're using fleece and fleece doesn't fray, you could just cut the fleece a quarter inch smaller than your scarf and stitch it to the scarf without all the extra bulk that turning fleece under causes.

    • @JaydaInStitches
      @JaydaInStitches  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi! You can, certainly! I just don't like the feel of the cut edge of the fleece :)

    • @njbyrd1617
      @njbyrd1617 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@JaydaInStitches Well that makes sense, I wonder if washing the fleece and using a softener before you stitch it onto the scarf, would help?

      Hi! Only if you're very experienced with your machine. Crochet side facing up, otherwise it will catch in the feed dogs. Use your longest stitch setting :)

    I’m not a sewer and can’t sew with a needle and thread to save my life....do you have a tutorial on how to do this but using yarn and a crochet needle or hook??

    • @JaydaInStitches
      @JaydaInStitches  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi! If you're new to sewing (or don't fancy yourself very good yet) then this is a great tutorial to learn on! Polar fleece is very forgiving and your stitches don't have to be neat. It's the most basic stewing stitch too, the running or straight stitch. I recommend giving it a try, it's a great project to practice on :)

      If you're interested in sewing - you might like to take a look at The Sewing Room Channel, My Sewing Room, or The Missouri Star Quilt Company. These 3 channels have lots of tutorials with great tips and tricks for beginners as well as the more experienced sewers.
