I forgot to mention that I must do my hair early in the day, or it will not dry, even with the use of a hooded dryer and diffuser. Also a hooded dryer and diffuser weekly aren't damaging because the heat is indirect and less harmful than for example standing outside in the Texas heat for a while. A hooded dryer or diffuser is a must for my kinky hair because air drying invites tons of frizz and inconvenience.
I have been learning a lot about haircare recently from cosmetologists online and they do their routine exactly like you. Educating myself to learn that oils and leave ins aren't necessary has been mindblowing really. Going to try gel (on its own) for the first time next weekend.
Update! I don't go in with a wide tooth comb anymore. I go in with my detangling brush after finger detangling ( www.stylequeenbeauty.com/products/style-queen-detangling-brush ). I don't touch my hair anymore with the diffuser because this causes frizz. I hover it around my head. If botanical gels are causing your hair to web and tangle check out this video th-cam.com/video/Hh8Mxcyz1Wg/w-d-xo.html . Also, consult a curl artist/hair stylist who specializes in wash n gos for your custom hair routine and product use, AND trust your discernment. My product use and techniques are not recommendations for your own hair. I am simply sharing my hair care journey with learning different techniques, improving my product use, and adjusting methods and products to my asthma and allergies. I hope that my videos are a source of inspiration and fun.
How I style my hair is largely based off the instruction of my Cut It Kinky Stylist, who is affiliated with Black Girl Curls. (Always giving props where props are due.)
Omg you are the first person to state henna is making your hair tangled. I have had this issue for so long, and never thought it was the henna. Could you do a video on it ?
I had a video on it but I took it down because I want to be respectful of people that do henna culturally. Per stylists recommendations I had the basically big chop, cut all the hennaed hair off to get to my healthiest hair possible.
this video was so helpful, I will definitely be buying some products and trying this new method out on my next wash day! I’ve always been nervous about trying a wash & go on my hair because I always thought it would never turn out right (I have super thick, coarse 4c hair) so I’m still learning how to style and take care of it. thank you so much for this video!
You're welcome and before you buy anything you may already have all you need. Products work differently for different people. If you have a moisturizing shampoo, a high quality conditioner that doesn't have Shea butter, coconut oil, or castor oil in the top 5 ingredients, and a humectant based gel (ooey, gooey gel or aloe or marshmallow root) you probably have all you need. If you have been using oils and butters you may want to clarify with a clarifying or stronger shampoo then start using your moisture shampoo. It's about the process. I don't want you to feel certain products will always give certain results and be disappointed.
@@FoAdunni thank you for this! unfortunately the conditioner I have does have castor seed oil in it but I’m thinking I should be fine for one use before I get a new and better conditioner? I have absolutely no gels and some styling cremes that I will keep. I’m just excited to be using a more simple process for my hair. thank you so much once again!
That's interesting that you out all your products in while you're in the shower and then style once you're out. Think thats a good way to keep your hair hydrated as you can saturate your hair in the shower rather than use the mist from the spray bottle. I'll give this method a try.
A random one off Amazon my husband got me as a gift but the stylists Iearned from say any hard hat good dryer will do. There are some decent ones at Sally's.
I always use either mousse or gel but I have been thinking about combining the 2. Do you notice a stronger hold using both? I want my shit brick stiff lol.
Hi! My hair if I didn't work out would have suitable and more elongated definition for 7 or 8 days but my hair is not rock hard. It has a lot of movement and body with the stylers I use currently.
My hair had a cast, which I was cool with then. And I learned these methods from my stylist, the stylists of Hydra Bar Salon l, and the stylists of Black Girl Curls. It's the new wave.
Hello, how is innersense color radiance compares to the hydrating hair bath, i though the hydrating hair bath was preferred for tighter coils. Thank you for the video
@@FoAdunni Interesting, i always favoured the hydrating hairbath as that was spoken highly of during my short spell in the digital salon, i did purchase a small sized version of the color radiance but have only used it once or so, i need to revisit it to feel the difference, i used to do the wngs for a while but i stopped because i was bothered about single strand knots and i found the shrinkage to be annoying, i know its a sign of health but my coils will be smothered anytime i sleep, i will revisit wash and goes soon. thanks for your reply and hope you don't mind me asking more questions about your techniques
@@lexiegoingham In this video I was using a different combination. I used curly magic, I create hold, and the Doux (but only a little). I currently use Curly Magic and the Doux.

Don't count yourself out. If you haven't tried the style of hair care I do then you don't know if your hair can do successful wash n gos. I don’t have a hooded dryer only diffuser, should I use that for the drying & then air dry.

Hello Kayla! 😂😂😂 I thought this was different vid when I initially responded. My bad. Thanks for watching. 💗 Let me know if you have questions.
Great video. Where is your bonnet from???
Great video. After watching you, I see it is all in the technique of how you apply the products. Why hooded dryer do you use?

Hello, how is innersense color radiance compares to the hydrating hair bath, i though the hydrating hair bath was preferred for tighter coils. Thank you for the video
My stylist recommended the color radiance for me because it has more slip than the hydrating hair bath matching conditioner. Hope this helps!

I only use the color radiance conditioner for the slip. I use the Hhb shampoo and it is amazing.
And ask away!
what was the purpose of the mousse being the final step?
Lay down any remaining flyways and at the time of this vid I also liked the way mousse caused my curls/waves to expand
Thank you for educating me
Which blow dryer do you like best? I love Dyson, but that price tag is high. Lol
I use any dryer from the beauty supply that isn't super super inexpensive. Hey if I don't have the best like a Dyson , I'm not picky.

No. I already feel guilty about the prices of what I have 😂😂😂 I'm gonna stick with the doux like how my stylist uses it
