I still feel like you need a bubbler or 2 for each of the ponds to help keep the O2 levels high and keep the leaves and other organic materials that settle to the bottom from creating methane pockets in the soil that could eventually flip and kill all of the fish

All my bass died this year in my Texas pond. Water got too low and algae cheese mats went on a crazy growth spurt and depleted the oxygen with 2 overcast days and 3 nights. Had a 7+ in there. Same thing happened 2 years prior and I lost one almost 9 lbs that I put in there. Almost never rains during the Texas summers. Lived here 60 years. Bluegills are the lifeblood of a bass pond. Redears are great also. The redears will keep the numbers yellow grub parasites down. The ones that bury into the meat of the fish. Nasty gross little bastards.

You need some like branches logs and water lilles in your pond and stuff for the bait fish to hide and the bass so when there bigger they have somewhere to spawn

I remember when you went to the hatchery and bought the fish for your ponds. Along with bait fish.
I would add more submerged vegetation such as val. Probably the best plant to increase the quality and oxygenation of your ponds water.

With the pond being so small would an aerator help with keeping the oxygen circulation in the pond more ideal for the fish

You don't have good structure in your pond, the bait fish have no where to hide so the bass eat most of them. If you don't have structure in the pond they are all gonna be eaten, throw some tree branches and rocks and stuff and make some structure
What about all that grass? Bait fish use the grass in all our lakes to hide from bass so I don't think he has a structure problem
@@Mjones8383 bass are capable of swimming through grass you realize? Easier for a tiny bait fish to hide under/behind a rock that the bass can't fit behind than try and hide in grass that the bass can just casually run them out of. Just because you personally think grass is fine for your own setup doesn't mean it's going to be the solution to every setup. If the grass obviously isn't working add extra structures simple math bro 🙄😐

Stocked up on some 6th sense baits the other day. Bought the fall bundle and shallow cranking bundle, along with a munch and 80wk. Can’t wait for their arrival. Nobody around here really sells 6th sense, so I only have 2 lures as of now, but I love them. So extremely excited for my delivery this week. Got the munch in gilliken..such a dope color and should be awesome here since bluegills are our main bait

Coleslaw using the best flipping bait on the market. Prawn "Bluegill fire" its absolute money.
If you really want your ponds to succeed Transfer all your fish into one pond and with the other pond stock it with all your bait fish, bluegill, and shiner for 3 years after three years your bait fish should be established enough to where you can put the bass back in there and it should be self-sustaining. Because the Blue gill will be big enough to where the bass leave them alone but they spawn and have enough little ones for the bass to eat. It takes three years though.
