    I much prefer Cordy making the decision herself. It literally adds to her character, showcasing her growth and the kind of thing she'd never do when we met her but now is willing to do to keep being an asset to the team.
    She chose to be a demon. it wasn't forced (like Angel with his soul). Much like her hiding her ailments from the team, Cordy has become someone who has shouldered a lot to make sure her team can work and is capable.
    Forcing it on her would have been a wrong move. Cordy is so great because her experience has made her WANT to be better, not forced her to behave (cough cough SPIKE cough).

    Remember when Cordelia was badly hitting on Angel at the Bronze, and Wesley was stumbling and fumbling around and fucking up Buffy’s shit, and Angel couldn’t even act like a normal person, unless he was being polite to Cordy’s bad flirting?

    I like how the dynamic has shifted from "Angel" Season One, Angel was all about helping people without charging them and Cordy was all about focusing on Angel Investigations as a Business First and saving people from Monsters second.

    0:47 The way that I’ve jokingly grappled with this is that Xander has a type of supernatural/demon girls. The PTBs had to go back and fix the discrepancy in the X/C relationship. Of course, it’s all a joke, but it made me chuckle when I first realized it.

    I think at this point it's more than safe to say that Cordy's decision to become a demon definitely had consequences. Drastic effects, one might say.

    A reasonable episode where we see Gunn/Wesley save Fred, her two potential partners maybe. An interesting concept here reflecting real life as Angel gets duped showing how many businesses get screwed over in real life. Funniest bit is where Wesley says to the couple 'will that be cash or charge'. Angel, Cordy and the baby in a cute scene on the bed in the end talking about how to spend the money, and how their priorities differ. Of course the relentless Holtz is still in the background plotting. All in a very average episode I thought.

    Cordy isn't exactly "half demon". That implies having one human and one demon parent, like Doyle. She was infused with demon powers, or the aspect of a demon, like Buffy in Earshot. Slayers in general are infused with demon powers. Or to a greater extreme, vengeance demons are greatly changed from an outside infusion of demon power. But they are not half-breeds from mixed parentage. So Cordy has been infused with a power from a demon. It can be a little, or it can be a lot.

    Season 3, for me at least, is where the show really got it's stride. It was it's own thing, it didn't have to rely on cameos from buffy, and it was very complex with a very gray villain. Then season 4 happened...

    I think Cordy's stance on money changed, at the end of season 1, when she saw all the people who need help.

    So, a year after this episode, Jeffrey Dean Morgan appeared in an episode of Star Trek Enterprise (the episode is called "Carpenter Street, and it's in season 3) as the villain of the episode. The role required extensive prosthetics, so it's difficult to tell that it's him.
    He hated the experience so much that he almost quit acting. This is a couple of years before _Supernatural_, so imagine how that could have changed things.

    Being infused with demon powers if different than being half demon. I wouldn't call Cordelia a human, but I wouldn't say demon, either. Part demon over half demon works best as half demon seems to imply more how parantage of demonology works, with one being human and one being demon.

    It could be that "no window is safe" from Angel; but if he isn't invited in he'll just hover there.

    I love Ally obsessing over Cordy being "half demon" - which isn't necessarily what she is - when aside from the levitating that one time, the only effect we've actually seen at this point is there's no more brain damage happening. Be happy for her and let things play out! But I guess she been there and done that already. So I'll just have to see how she comes to terms with everything that is going to happen...
    A Wes-Fred-Gunn triangle? Heh...

    Connor have two moms in his life is his biological mother Darla and his surrogate mom Cordelia.
    I'm big major fan of Cangel (Angel and Cordelia) endgame.
    They're good parents for Connor. Cordelia is the closest thing to Connor he have as mom after he lost his biological mother Darla died sacrifice herself for him when he was born in November 19th, 2001.

    I have a really hard time with Angel as a tv show. I love the character work of the show I would watch Angel purely for the characters (Angel, Cordelia, Fred, etc) if that was possible, but outside of a handful of episodes of Angel that I think are works of art/must watches, I think it just… never hits its stride. Or, if it does, it’s too little too late and it doesn’t last for long enough.

  • @Kay2be2mr

    This is when I started disliking the show. The son thing seemed super interesting at first if it hadn't taken the weird turn it did afterwards. And I know this is a very unpopular opinion but...I watched the show for Angel and Cordelia, and I tolerated Wesley because he was at some point part of the Sunnydale gang, but Fred and Gunn?? I don't get it. I never found them interesting at all. Usually you have someone who is the comic relief, the other one has a superpower etc. But Fred and Gunn are just there. Even after all these years, I wish the cast had been different, or had stayed small.

    • @twinkielove6337
      @twinkielove6337 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      The cast is still smaller than the Buffy one. Angel, Cordy, Fred, Wes, Gunn, Lorne, Connor and later in the 5th season someone, but I’m not gonna say who for spoiler reasons. And a few smaller characters but the Buffy cast is larger. Buffy, Willow, Xander, Giles, Anya, Dawn, Tara, Spike, Oz, Riley, Cordelia in the earlier season, Angel in the earlier seasons, Joyce, Faith, and probably a few more that I’m forgetting plus the smaller characters.just with the main main characters the cast is longer than Angel’s

    • @Kay2be2mr
      @Kay2be2mr 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@twinkielove6337 I didn't mean that I wanted it small for the sake of being small. I meant I wish it had stayed centered on just Angel, Cordelia and Wesley. But I get that at some point it would've probably gotten boring. I just didn't like the addition of those characters to the main cast. The addition to the 5th season did make a lot more sense. I don't understand why we didn't get another one of those type of characters earlier. It didn't even need to be that specific character. But I'll be honest, by the time that character came along, the show was so far gone story wise that even that character couldn't make it better. It felt like that character was the only normal being in a world of corporate cold craziness.

      @@TheNoybusiness Spike. I don't know why they didn't add a regular vampire before that. As if he or she was going to outshine Angel? And Harmony doesn't really count. I mean a vampire who would've been a real part of the team that fans would've ultimately cared about.
