  • Not bad for a Diesel BMW running stock turbos! We were trying to hit 100 mph in the 1/4 mile but couldn't quite pull it off this hot Summer night!

    So what was your 1/4 mile time?
    I have a 2014 bmw x5 xdrive35d with a delete and malone stage 2 tune, did 13.995s in 1/4 mile. I have a quicker 0-60 jump, but she feels very sluggish on the top end.

    Question, what type of strain does tuning add to the engine? Will it affect longevity of the diesels engine ?

      @Spkfox 4 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      If anything it makes it healthier. I've got over 210k miles on my tuned and deleted 335D and it's as good as the day I got it tuned (110k miles ago)

      Only real strain is on the turbos if they’re stock but it depends on how you treat the car. Like do you beat on it day in day out and do you keep up with regular maintenance. If you upgrade the turbo to,let’s say, a ball bearing setup then that’s no longer an issue. They like higher rpm especially if it has a billet compressor wheel. Either way a turbocharger is a maintenance item at high mileage especially if you treat it bad. Lemme put it this way, if you never change your oil but are untuned you’d be lucky to get 50k from the turbos but if you keep up with maintenance and are tuned than you’re more likely to get a result like spkfox that has 210k on his. Btw, his turbos have had a full life and I’m surprised they’re still going. I’d go buy a spare set if I were him/her if I were planning to keep the car for much longer. Just my opinion lol

      it will actually not affect the engine, having a diesel and getting on it every now and again can actually be good for the car

    Can you tune up my 2012 X5D to run like that ?

    What’s been your fastest 0-60 time?

    • @TuneMyEuro
      @TuneMyEuro  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Cameron Moore I honestly hadn't been measuring it previously. Also would you mean 0 to 60 miles per hour or zero to 60 foot times? I changed out the stock turbos yesterday so I won't be able to measure anymore with stock turbos. Hybrid times coming up

    • @cameron7889
      @cameron7889 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      FixMyVW.com by AARodriguez I meant 0-60MPH. I thought you could only run the stage 2.8 with hybrid turbos.

    that's not a race tune or even a stage 2. factory boost is 28psi and you only hit 31

    • @whatta7793
      @whatta7793 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      looks like he hit 37 psi in 2nd gear but yea everything after that was 31 at best.. if he was getting 35-37 psi throughout all of his gears this thing would be much quicker, weird that he hit 37 psi in 2nd gear but the rest of his run fell on its face, if he had 37 psi that entire run, definitely high 12s

      @@whatta7793 that's definitely software glitch, torque does that and thats why its garbage. Stage 3 is 35psi for 400whp. Better app to log with is protools

      @N54God666 I've used TPro, and it has seemed very consistent for me. However, I've only used it in my OBS Chevys, which are all 350 small block and no boost. They're 1996-99, I've had 4 of them, and the app has been consistent between all 4 vehicles for the PIDs I use, like intake temp, tps, load %, vacuum (no boost but still have vacuum PID), and timing. I actually used the app to give one of my trucks a little more timing, was running 93 octane instead of the 87 it calls for, so I gave it a few notches of timing using the app. They would all idle around 21-22 degrees of timing, consistent across all 4 of the vehicles, and they would all idle around -11 psi vacuum. But, they were all completely stock non boosted vehicles.

      @N54God666 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@whatta7793 that's very possible, different cars are going to report different. Every BMW I've used torque pro on has been very inconsistent in readings with lots of spikes to unnecessary high numbers and that's why I don't use it. Torque just needs a gauge filter setting to fix this

    • @whatta7793
      @whatta7793 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @N54God666 Yeah, so it could be accurately calibrated. That'd be great, honestly. Is EGTB1S1 his exhaust temperature or what? That number looks hot asf whatever it is lol, exhaust gas temp bank 1 sensor 1? My trucks just have EGR exhaust gas recirculation, doesn't give me a temperature (old vehicle less sensors), just gives me a work load %. I just ask because that mofo is hot
