Dan John is NOT a hypocrite! Problem is that many people are looking for a formula and in many cases, like the comment Dan addressed here, they are looking for a highly specific protocol to achieve a highly specific result. It just doesn’t work that way unless you are training a specific lift for competition or for a show. If you are looking to get fit and lean the secret is….. nothing works AND everything works. Meaning rotate through different workouts and diets frequently and PAY Attention to what’s working for YOU. It’s all very specific to each individual. Putting in the work and being consistent at doing said work over and again and keeping records of what works for you and what doesn’t IS the recipe. Dan creates a lot of content to help support that journey. Use it, but also understand that you need to figure out for yourself what works. He can advise but only YOU can find the answer. 2-cents from the peanut gallery 😊
Great wisdom. Everyone wants to be told exactly what to do to based on their desired result. We are the same and we are different. There are so many valuable programs for working out and eating. Finding what will work best for you requires testing. There are no shortcuts, unfortunately.
I follow Dan for a few reasons. The first is he has and continues to coach and compete at the national level. The second is he makes sense to me when he speaks about different programs i.e. easy strength, even easier strength, and the armor building complex, and it doesn’t come with a lot of false bravado. The third and main reason is that talks about things don’t work out as planned, for example he did a custom liquid diet a few years ago or other than grip strength and conditioning being the only lasting benefits from the 300 swings challenge. So, when you combine those three together you have an individual who is humble, has credibility, and can communicate the material effectively. Those are all qualities that are lacking in today’s fitness industry.
I think you get so many questions about other programs is because you're the most available expert that takes time to answer questions. (Which thank you for that. )
Well, thank you so much. It actually bothers me that people sell these books and manuals and PDFs and then don’t answer questions about them for the general public. And then people ask me the question and I usually have no idea about it especially when they use all these magical terms that I swear they just invented on the spot. I very much appreciate what you said here thank you.

you can program away forever but nobody will outswing the self-defeating results of unsupportive eating

I think I’m gonna have to hire all of you or have you become part of my family. Thank you all so much.
