Hi Krista! Last week I saw that there will be a fourth (and final) book in the Emmy Lake series. “Dear Miss Lake” is expected to release next summer. 🎉 📕
I've chosen my NonfictionNovember books, but still need to grab a few historical fiction for Historathon, which won't be difficult since it's my go-to genre. I'll try to join a few Sunday chats about Adorning the Dark, too. I loved that book! Oh my goodness, I can't wait to hear about Loving vs. Virginia! I loved the movie about that case. I need to read that one.
Great TBR! Sounds like a great month. I went to the library to vote earlier and was able to snag the only copy of The Briar Club not already checked out while I was there. 😊
Bad Penny recommended "Dragonfly" for you Krista. WWII young, American spies in Paris. A pod or sleeper cell seeks Intel while staying one step ahead of the SS. Written to easily distinguish between the various characters. 3.9⭐️
Wishing you all the best of luck in your November tbr hopefully you can read all of your books 📚 prayers and blessings for you and your family love your Aussie family friend John ❤❤❤❤
Dragonfly is one of my all time favorite historical fiction books and that author is becoming one of my favorite historical authors to read .hope you love it just as much as I did
So fun! I am going to read along with Adorning the Dark and I also have Dragonfly on my shelf so I’m going to take this opportunity to pick it up this month as well!
I already started listening to Long Island and I am HOOKED! I loved the audiobook of Mrs Porter Calling…4.5 stars. Loving vs Virginia is such an interesting and beautiful story. I listened to the audiobook. Your version of the book is so lovely! I’ll definitely be reading Mexikid. Our library has the ebook. 😊 I’ll also be joining in with Adorning the Dark. Looks like November will be an awesome reading month!
I have Loving vs Virginia on my tbr. I hope you like it. I'm planning on starting my holiday reads for November but would like to read one historical fiction as well. I just have to figure out which one to read. Nice tbr!
All of you U-tubers are doing different and such good Nov. things!! I had already decided to go w/ Gloria Thompson and ? to do their group read, The Briar Club by Kate Quinn. I bought this when it first came out but hadn't read it yet. Sounds soooo good! Set in the McCarthy era in America. I love the Mrs. Bird series! The first one was powerful, I thought. Have the next 2, but haven't read the 3rd. Your TBR sounds good😊 I wrote down Beyond The Bright Sea ( have to read that being from Mass.) I have Brooklyn but haven't read it yet. Maybe I'll read that one too. All my grandparents came from Ireland. Still have 2nd cousins there. Oh, as I'm ALWAYS saying: too many books and NOT enough time!!😐 Had my last P.T. appt. today (3 1/2+ mos.) so THAT should help some😃 Thanks Krista🤗
Looks like an interesting group of books. I also have Dragonfly on my shelves, but I'm not sure I'm ready to tackle that one just yet. I normally don't pick the books I'm going to read for the next month. I like to take things one at a time based upon how I feel about my last read. Of course, that doesn't count the book my book group has lined up. We are reading The Truth According to Ember by Danica Nava. It's a romance featuring a Native American couple. Currently, I'm almost finished reading Emily Henry's Book Lovers. I'm enjoying it and honestly don't know how it's all going to shake out, although I'm positive the main couple will end up together. ;-) To change things up, I'm starting a Manga novel. I've read a few graphic novels in the past, but they were all from a western perspective. This will be my first Manga read. It's called A Sign of Affection by suu Morishita. As far as I can tell, it's about a young woman - high school or college student? - who is deaf and a young man she meets with whom she gets involved. I'm only on the first few pages, so it seems to be emphasizing how isolating her deafness makes her at times. There appears to multiple volumes, but I'm at Volume 1.
❤📚📚❤️ Great choices Krista! I added both middle grade books to my tbr list. Thanks. I'm reading Wild: From Lost to Found on the Pacific Crest Trail by Cheryl Strayed. It's been on my shelves forever, unread.
What a good mix of books for your November tbr. Dragonfly looks very good. I have added that one to my target. I am reading Bluebird by Genevieve Graham. So far it is definitely a 5 star. The author is Canadian, as am I ,and takes place in Windsor, close to the Detroit River. A great read!
Added Beyond the Bright Sea to my Want to Read list! It sounds really good! I am going to try to get some NetGalley books done in Nov! 😅 And some non-fiction!
Every time you mentioned historathon I forget there are two “historathon” I am participating in. One is a year long nonfiction Readathon while the one you are speaking of is the month long historical fiction. Either way I hope you enjoy your November reads.
@@BooksAndJams I have been enjoying it because each quarter of the year your prompt is to read at least 1 book from a particular set of time. (1st Quarter was Prehistory to 500AD; 2nd Quarter was 500-1500AD; 3rd Quarter was 1500-1820AD; the finally and current Quarter is 1820-Present Day). The fact you just need to read one nonfiction in 3 months is very flexible. Some I read multiple while others I read just one. It helped me see that I could possible work on looking for more nonfiction of particular time periods. I hope those that create the Readathon will have it again next year. Sorry for the long reply. Have a great day!
I am planning to participate in Nonfiction November also. I don't have a plan yet, but would love to read a Sy Montgomery book or two and catch up on some of my Christian nonfiction.
Krista, Great book choices. About Net Galley reviews-I’m terrible at writing them. When I finally get around to it Net Galley won’t accept them. Do you know how to work around that or have you never experienced that?
I've never had a review not be accepted, so I'm not sure. Maybe if it's not long enough or you haven't downloaded it and it gets archived then you can't. That's all I can think of. I usually download everything to my kindle so I haven't had that issue.
It's a site where reviewers can request to read early release copies of books. I'm a bit back logged so most of the ones I'm reading are now already out. haha.
Your rolls and coin flips aligning with your other plans - yesssss! 🎉🥳🎉
We love when the TBR game gets a few middle grade options in the pile!!
Absolutely!!! It's the best.
I read Adorning the Dark a few years ago. What a great title! I think you'll find it to be a wonderful group read. Enjoy.
Oooo, I didn’t know about Long Island!! I loved Brooklyn, definitely want to get that book and see what else happened to Eilis.
Uggghh!! Both my Echos went off every time you said the word.
haha. Sorry!...not sorry. lol

I love my TBR for November. Hope I love all the books! I have Briar Club ready to read too. Forgot about that one.
Loving vs Virginia was so good
Loving vs Virginia is a fantastic book and is the perfect book for historical fiction and nonfiction hybrid. It’s my rec for that prompt this year!
Sweet! I forgot that was one of the prompts. Perfect!
An interesting list of books. Loving vs Virginia is one that interests me. 😊💙 NetGalley…. I’m so behind.
Oh man. I am determined to get caught up with my reviews at least in November. Here's hoping!

I'm so glad to hear that Long Island drew you in. I saved it on Everand so I'm ready. Yay for so many good reads in November!
One of my favorite videos to film too! And watch😊
They're easy and it's fun to see people get excited about their books to read.

It was a good find. I was thrilled when I saw it.

I am glad to have this push to read it.
Mrs. Porter Calling is hilarious! According to AJ Pearce's website she's writing a fourth book. They are such good books!
Oooo I'm glad to hear it's a funny one. I love when books make me laugh.

I have read that Bluebird. There's another one by Sharon Cameron that I'd love to read too.
You should watch the movie Loving after reading the book. It's a great movie
I haven't seen that movie. That's a great idea!
I keep forgetting about Historathon!
Good morning Krista just checking in..Take care..
I’m very curious about Loving vs Virginia!
It looks so good! I am very hopeful.

I read Dear Mrs. Bird. I enjoyed it, but not enough to purchase the rest of the series and my library only had the first book, so.
I think I listened to the second one and don't own it. I found this one at a thrift store and it was too cheap to pass up. haha.
I loved Mexikid
I hope I will too!
