I know Marty has lived in Japan for a long time now but his Japanese is incredible. also having him with Takayoshi and Ichika in the same room is mind blowing. Imagine all three of them playing together.

@@sandwich4916 everyone makes mistakes in the heat of the moment, although it's a bit painful when you someone who is meant to be fluent makes a beginner grammatical mistake and you are like noooooo please
by the way living somewhere doesn't mean you just automatically absorb the language
Nice to see Ohmura with Fujioka's guitar here. He continues to honor him by playing it at events and recordings.

Did you read that right? Ichika just started playing 6 years ago. What a way to crush our confidence.
IIRC he has said this before but it’s not entirely accurate - six years ago he decided to dedicate himself exclusively to guitar instead of playing bass and piano too.

イントロやギターソロがジャマと言われてる今の時代、ファンじゃない人を引き込ませる事が凄く難しいのは昔の歌謡曲みたいに印象に残る楽曲が無いからでしょうけど、それはギターにも言える事。スモークオンザウォーターみたいな強烈なインパクトがあり、超カッコ良く、余計なテクニックはいらないリフがなかなか世の中に出てこないのも原因か思います。自分も10代の頃はスピード命でしたが、今はマーティーさんがおっしゃる通り、聴かせる事が大事だと思います。
