It is finally time to admit the engine needs a rebuild. No time like the present. I pull the heads off and clean them up to go to the machine shop.

Wow. All that work just to find out how the engine is timed? Sounds like a typical BMW. I hear they are a nightmare to work on. Loving this new channel. Nit that I'm saying I succeed with this car lol You will have to watch and see what happens. We can only hope at this point. I'm glad you are enjoying it.
m30 even b34 s are subject to the valve train bolts come loose, they should have put a lock washer on them in my opinion, , when building my e34 m30 I used rock auto prats and it was less than 800 bucks

Do you know where I can get & buy a camshaft or camshaft and kit for the 1986 735i?
Less than 35K & always been serviced by BMW, then sat for 19 years with a worn camshaft's top lope.
What a piece of junk car that many people claimed they are the best. The top-of-the-line model & rattling like a snake.

So my step Dad wants to crush my 1985 735i white with black interior car, it has been sitting in his backyard for 5 years, he also wants to crush the m30be4 with getrag 5 speed attched, I mean the thing has jl 500/1 for the bass a hifonics old school europa driving just jbls in the front an alpine cd player extra wheels and tires and I pepperminted the whole thing because rats suck, peppermint oil staight, does any body want a rust free California 1985 735 i with extra motor and getrag 5 speed for $2000
