How To Install And Configure Arch Linux For Penetration Testing

  • In this video, I demonstrate how to install Arch Linux on VirtualBox and how to set up the BlackArch repos to enable the installation of penetration testing and security tools. Arch Linux is a Linux distribution for computers based on x86-64 architectures. The Arch Linux repositories contain both libre, and nonfree software, and the default Arch Linux kernel contains nonfree proprietary blobs, hence the distribution is not endorsed by the GNU project

If you're fairly comfortable with the shell, it's also worth considering just running a window manager instead of a desktop environment. i3wm is a pretty good one, as is fluxbox (which, incidentally, are two window managers that can come with black-arch by default).

I am having some issues using burpsuite. I saw your today's video of using ptf and also the ending on arch, I followed this one too but the thing is I am getting some error. Well, as you mention in this video that "open11-jdk" is not our deal so I chose a different option as I was being given 2, and that installed I think open17-jdk or something.
So when I tried to open up Burpsuite with a simple burpsuite command in my terminal, it said "Could not start burp : java.lang.NullPointerException "
There also was line saying "OpenJDK 64-bit Server VM Warning: Ignoring option --illegal-access=permit; support was removed in 17.0"
I tried to find solutions on the web... one was something by portswigger themself but I couldn't make this thing work
It would be great if you could help me out!

@Siddhesh Parulekarfirst at all I am not your college or friend so I am not sure why you wrote to me like we known each other.
Second thing I used to Ubuntu, but currently I am using both Red hat Fedora and Arch Manjaro.
Third thing I earn Linux certification from Red Hat, so why you think I'm not noob?
I write bash scripts, configure environment and a lot of other stuff.
And still I think OS is only a preference and pure Arch is not user friendly, so then I think there is better way to do this.
I think we have now clear situation.
