    Just installed them on mine. I didn't have any issues with the wire hold-down...I pushed it out from the "back" or bottom. Those little plates made a huge difference. I also installed the Ilium foot pegs....they match the bike perfectly and work a treat. I'm impressed.
    Thank you for this tutorial, it was spot on.

    Thank you for the video, I just did mine as well. Didn't have any issues with the wire hold down as well. But it's very hard to put back in. IT makes great difference. it's such a relaxed natural position. I am growing old 😀

    I got the little wiring bracket off easily, but dropped it & lost it in the bodywork while re-installing it! What a pain. The video was very helpful.

    ...Way better method of installing the helibar extenders than the directions that helibar provides. You saved me from having to drill out stripped T40 bolt heads. Thank you!

    Hello Jeff...awesome video! I intend to buy a new GT later this year, but I'm on the smaller side at 5'9" with a 30.5" inseam, and so I think the low seat option is a must, but the handlebar position on the B model is slightly higher and closer than the GT, so the riser in your video is a way to reproduce that position. Have you noticed any adverse effects on handling after installing the risers? I have read comments on the forums both ways, so I thought I'd ask your thoughts since you have both bikes side by side. I could just get the B model, but I much prefer the aesthetics of the GT. Thanks for your input!!

    Hi Jay. Checking your vid on risers for my GTL. How did you get those bolts out (they seems to be aluminium cast and already strip one. any tricks to take them out. Dont want to bring the bike to dealership for a 3 hours jobs. thanks in advance

    Thanks for the video! Do the bar risers allow more room to use a tank bag, or would there be even less room for the bag when moving the bars to lock?

    • @JayBearjaysbigadventure
      @JayBearjaysbigadventure  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Technically there will be a tad less room lock-to-lock, but it really isn't much. If you have a soft tank bag I don't think it will be an issue.

    Have you noticed the lower suspention on the Sport yet?

    • @JayBearjaysbigadventure
      @JayBearjaysbigadventure  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Here in the US we have GT and GTL, B and Grand America. My 2 GTs are the same height, and are the tallest of all the K1600s which is one of the reasons I went with the GT. The Bagger and Grand America are lower, but at 6'3" I preferred the taller bike. :)

      @thesmutlley 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@JayBearjaysbigadventure That's odd as it looks lower in yoru video, not the seat hight but the suspension hieght.

    Why didn't you use your torque wrench when you were mounting the bars to the spacers?

    • @JayBearjaysbigadventure
      @JayBearjaysbigadventure  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Those bolts aren't under any real force like a lug nut for instance. I just went TIGHT with locktight thread locker so they won't loosen over time.

      @@JayBearjaysbigadventure did it increase long distance comfort?

    • @JayBearjaysbigadventure
      @JayBearjaysbigadventure  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, it really did. Gives you just that little bit more of an up right seating position the takes a bit of strain off your lower back since you aren't leaning forward quite as far. In the mountains on curvy roads you don't really notice it. But a couple hours on the interstate and you really start to understand how much of a difference was made.

    Hi Jeff & Jay Thank you for the informative video. I am also 6'3 and I have test driven a GT model. I found the handlebars very low. I want to raise them but do not want to bring it closer to me. For some reason I already feel a bit cramped. In some way it feels like the bars are not wide enough and for that reason I do not want it to become closer. Any wisdom on options?

      Helibars makes a complete conversion kit. Multi way adjustable. I don't like the looks, but that is a personal choice. Take a look!

    Hi Jay bear I've been watching your videos new subscriber, I'm currently on a Honda vtx 1800 and want to make the move to the bmw k1600 I'm 6 foot 4 same as you and will be riding 2up with my wife there's not much for dealerships out here in s.d. can you tell me if the gt or the gtl would be more comfortable for a tall guy like us? Long distance? I noticed difference in seat height and fuel tank size can always add the top case to the gt like you did I see good used ones going for that 9-10 grand range do I go gt or gtl?

      Hi Kyle, can't believe your comment got lost in the shuffle here. SO sorry I didn't catch this when it might have been helpful. Yes, the GT is way better for taller riders, and I had a Russell Day Long extra tall saddle made. Completely transforms the bike! Hope you are loving whatever you bought.
