I totally agree, every single absence of my children’s has been excused. Of course it makes us feel even worse for keeping them home but if your child is sick, I’d much rather keep them home to stop the illness from spreading and or getting worse! You’re doing what’s best for ur babies, you’re an amazing mom! You and your momma seem like a great time! You’re so blessed ❤

I do the same thing with my kids!!!! I REFUSE to send my kids in sick. The school went as far as to say I needed to bring my kids to the school and let them take their temperature and if they have one then I could take them back home. My kids do not ALWAYS get a fever when they are sick but they are still contagious and sick and miserable!!! Now they are trying to threaten me with arresting me for not sending them!!! I even have Doctors notes for EVERY SINGLE absence even though I don't normally take my kids to the doctor every time they are sick but while I am fighting this, i have to for the time being!!!! Sorry for the book!!! You just keep doing what is best for your babies!!!!!

1:55 OMG ZOE! I was just talking to my husband about the school absences thing the other day and I said the same thing! My kids are all nearly grown and are now 15, 17, and almost 19! And my two younger ones who are in 10th and 12th grade miss a day of school when necessary! That’s how it’s been from the beginning and will remain so until they’re all graduated! So far this year my daughter has missed 11.5 days with only one of those days UNexcused and my son has missed 12 and there are four unexcused for him simply because I haven’t written a note for those days yet but all the others have doctors notes or dentists/orthodontist notes to excuse them both! But yet we still receive the occasional letters in the mail advising us that when a student misses school it affects their education etc! Ok…well if every parent would keep their child home when they are contagiously sick then maybe the spread of illnesses wouldn’t run rampant in schools and we’d have a better system with absences! But if my kid is throwing up or has a fever, or was up all night not feeling well, or if I’m concerned in the least that they may have Covid…they’re staying home!! Period! I’ve gone to court twice due to school absences! And had to bring in proof of all the doctor or urgent care visits etc! For them to see that the kids just weren’t bringing in their excuses and I wasn’t aware: they sent the officers to my door!! It’s been ridiculous in the past when they were your kids ages because they’d get sick so much in Elementary school and there wasn’t anything I could do…but keep them home to get well and take them to the doctor! Schools need to be more understanding and not make such a big deal especially when the parents are touching base and making sure ti let them know why the child isn’t in school that day! Now I know there many parents who simply don’t care and have no routine and just dint take care of their child and they miss school and the law SHOULD get involved in those cases, but there should be a step before all that!

That’s how it was when my girl was in elementary school. I had doctor’s note from all her ear infections and fevers. What do they want us to do send them sick ? My kid is taking online courses now til we get our home sold and moved into our new home. If that ever happens. So , I feel you there one.

I NEED YOUR MOM IN MY LIFE SO BAD, we could just share her, like an adopted 40 year old daughter!😂 I live in Florida too, but I am seriously struggling lately and my mom passed away 3 years ago very suddenly and I still can’t grasp that she’s gone, she was my best friend and the only person that I could always depend on. I’ve been through all the same things you’re mom has been through and if it wasn’t for my daughter and my mom, I would’ve taken myself out of this world a long time ago but I knew it would destroy my mom and my daughter was still young and needed me. But… my mom is gone now and my daughter is 15 years old and wants me less everyday 😢 Me and my husband have basically become roommates sleeping in the same bed but haven’t had sex in 5 years, and I am so deprived of emotional connection or physical contact that I bring it up all the time, basically begging for a date or dinner and to hold my hand or just cuddle up with me or something anything!!! And it hurts the most because I talk to him about all this and he just says okay and then never does anything, I feel like I’m dying inside because I’ve been a star at home mom for years so I gave up my career raising our daughter and now I’m financially dependent on him so I’m just fucking stuck!! I would give anything to just live alone because it would feel so much better than sharing a home with someone who just doesn’t have emotions or feelings, just a temper usually so that makes things even more uncomfortable. ANYWAYS… I am just so sad when I see you and your beautiful mom because I’m so lonely and lost right now I just want someone to hug me and talk to me and help me out of this darkness 😢 but I have zero hope for that so I think the darkness will be better than living like this.
