I bought the orange one a little under a year ago and it’s changed my sound forever. I’m interested in buying in another one and I’d just like to know if anything has changed besides the look.
Just ordered one of these and I'm trying to plan my cabling - do the front panel inputs override the rear ones? ie, if I leave a mic cable permanently connected at the back, will that be automatically removed from the signal path if I make a connection via the front panel XLR?
Is any of the sound processing components on this black version different from that on the orange version? It seems the changes are mainly the color, labels, and some control knobs' physical design.
Tone Beast can you help!? I just record on Vocals wont be using any instruments just a MIC. Shall I get WA12 MKII or TB12 Black?! Are both pretty much same Sound quality?
Hey there! To put it simply, you'll experience a diminished tone. To achieve the best results when recording electric guitars and basses, it's recommended to use the dedicated hi-z input on the preamp designed for these instruments. This ensures optimal impedance matching, level handling, and preservation of the instrument's tone.
@@WarmAudioOfficial Thanks for the comment. Actually, I asked because the Hi-z part of my TB12 was broken. Yesterday, a repair shop technician replaced one of the condensers on the board and it is now working. However, another question arose: When I input guitar or bass, I see a yellow light on the level meter even if I lower the gain of the equipment to the lowest. (This also happens when I don't play hard.) So when using hi-z mode, I always have to use the -20db pad, and this sound goes into the WA76. Even if the yellow light is visible only briefly, noticeable distortion is added. Is this normal? (Assuming I want to get a transparent sound rather than a distorted sound)

I have decided to buy this beast but I have a confusion regarding the FUSE switch at the rear panel. I am in India, so what to switch in that? Will this work perfectly for the indian voltage.I am really confused about this. Please anyone help me out. What different voltages are there and to which voltage should I switch?
Hey Shravan! Yes, the voltage in India India should be at 220v. Our units have a switch for both 115v and 230v. You will be fine on the 230v setting. Voltages can range by 15% and make no effect on the product or sound quality. If you have any more in-depth technical questions, we have a great in-house QC team. I'm ready to order mine, but can someone pls explain to me why the Orenge one is 200 cheaper? Is it because the new look or is there more extras in the black one?
Pro MPA-II or Warm Audio // TB12 Tone Beast for Vocals? Interface: Audient id14 Mic: SE Gemini II Which AMP would be better for this setup Vocals only? Thank you!
Hey so how’s your Gemini sounding through the tone beast I’ve literally been looking into both the mic and this preamp thank you very curious about your results would you recommend to get this set up
Nice review. I have a big confusion. *Can I use this preamp for lead vocals because warm audio says it is suitable for background vocals. *Can I use a condenser microphone with this? * Will this be suitable for both male and female vocalists? *Is this good for Indian voltage? Please help me out to select the best preamp for indian vocals and instruments.
Hello again Shravan! - This preamp will definitely work with a condenser microphone and can be used for both female and male vocals. Since the TB has saturation capabilities that can push an overdrive or even distortion on your audio source, it is typically used for instruments that you want some grit. Often used for electric guitar or bass. - No problems with Indian voltage. India should be at 220v and our units have a switch for both 115v and 230v. You should be good.
Looks beautiful! I have a question: Would it work with the Scarlett Solo? Or would I need an extra piece of gear? Sorry, I'm not experienced with pro audio
@@WarmAudioOfficial I forgot to specify whether it'd work through the mic input. I understand that it's possible if I'm using the DI, but what about a mic signal?
Can someone PLEASE give me the depth measurement? I can't find that info anywhere. Not even in the manual. I'm working with limited depth and would prefer to know the dimensions BEFORE I buy it. Thanks!
Hi Ben! I’m the owner’s wife and just happened upon your question. I hope you are able to find the answer you needed. If you aren’t please let me know. 😘
They really outdid themselves with this one, great company
Such a great video, really well explained. It's a very well thought out preamp

This monologue is pleasantly clear. Was this recorded with this unit?
I just ordered this my first mic pre.

How is it fellas?
Um getting 3 of these.
Dont know what to say !! Speechless !
Why Unbalance Patch Cables?
Will we get a white version? That would look absolutely killer!
Got rid of the wall wart, thank God

Hey there! Yes, can you leave a mic cable plugged into the back and the front XLR will "override" the signal in the back. Hope this helps!
@@WarmAudioOfficial Awesome thanks for that, looking forward to this!
That is a REALLY nice feature

How to connect audio interface?
When recording electric guitar and electric bass without a DI box, what problems will arise if I connect to the LINE input without using the hi-z ?

@@WarmAudioOfficial The guitar is an Epiphone Les Paul Studio, and the bass is a Sire V3.
What's the difference between the Orange and Black TB models?
All I can see different is the internal power supply whereas the original orange model had an external supply.
Hermoso 😍
has anyone tried this as a boost for hi gain guitar tone??
Anyone use it as preamp for Rhodes stage ??
is there a difference between the front and back mic inputs? or does it not matter?
No difference between the XLR inputs.
Anybody else experience really harsh vocals with this preamp? Have a lot of trouble dialing the gain and saturation.
