  • This porridge is the breakfast of champions! It's so comforting and it'll keep you full and ready to tackle your day. I grew up eating it and I'm so glad to now share this recipe with you all. Jamaican Green Banana Porridge is smooth, creamy, and comforting. Green bananas have a high amount of dietary fibers and resistant starch, which aid in digestion, which keeps us full for a long time, and help in weight management.

    BANANA PORRIDGE INGREDIENTS:
    4-5 green bananas or green Burro bananas / or 2 green plantains
    4 cups water
    2-3 cups plant-based milk
    1 tsp cinnamon or 2 cinnamon sticks
    1 tsp vanilla or 1 vanilla bean
    1 tsp mixed essence
    1/2 tsp nutmeg
    Pinch salt

    I watched this and had to try it! It was so easy to do. Love that its a tasty way to increase prebiotics and fiber into our meals for gut health. Definitely adding this to the rotation. I added peanut butter just like you too!

    Michelle, I just tried this recipe today and it was very good. I used the plaintains and oh my delicious never had porridge before I definitely will be puting this in rotation. Thank you for sharing.

    I LOVE the velvety consistency but my good it needs sweetness lol. I just used maple syrup and honey. Im going to blend dates w/the plaintains and water next time.
    I just had this as my pre-workout!

      @vjdavis146, do you eat your green bananas as is or always cook them? I read that the greener the better, but I love a ripe sweet banana.

    Try to keep your green bananas in the refrigerator so that is doesn’t get ripe
