A great detail I love about this game, is that kratos during the first 3 games his ash on his skin is more apparent than ever, and in this, it's partially faded, showing that he's moving on. 😢
or it's just that he has started taking showers
@@another-stat7726 the ash is bonded to his skin with magic, showers don't do anything.
@@Estaticcz i think it was a joke
@@andrealveshjr Oh
Or yknow age, and his skin was dark to begin with hes Spartan so as he ages the ash prolly just darkens
• At 1:15:33 you forgot to press square to equip the new armor you crafted. When you craft a new armor don't forget to press square to equip the new armor you crafted if you need it
• When you encounter some green ravens, throw your axe at them to destroy them. They will also give a sound cue whenever they are nearby. They are a side quest in the game
• Also all the side quests in this game are cannon so try and complete as many side quests as possible
Now to give some lore about the game without spoiling anything:
Odin in Norse mythology is the equivalent of Zeus in Greek mythology, he's the king of Norse gods and his son is Thor.
Christopher Judge did an excellent job voicing Kratos in these Norse games. The voice acting in these games is phenomenal and it is what truly makes this game hit hard.
If you haven't noticed yet, the game is directed by the same director as GoW 2, Cory Barlog. That guy is truly a talented game director.
Fun fact: This whole game is shot in 1 camera take, like there are no black screens, no cuts no white screens, it is just a continuous flow from the start to end.
One HUGE tip: Always look UP when exploring, the hanging buckets always get ya. Also, you can get the R3 stun grab from far away, as long you can see the prompt, you don't have to be on top of the enemy.
There is absolutely no need to breeze through the story, there is a ton of side content and exploration to do for better gear and such. Doing some side quests along with the story for a good balance is highly recommended.
So you bought the new armor for Kratos but haven't even equipped it yet.
If you thought the combos in the trilogy were amazing wait till you unlock more skills and runic attacks. The combat just flows and meshes really well into itself. It is way more complicated than in the original trilogy and you can do some insane combos in this game compared to the original trilogy. Also yeah the lock feature is only really useful during the 1 on 1 fights (mainly bosses) because it kind of locks the camera in place.
You've got good parrying reflexes! Very important considering that you're playing in hard mode. You will see that there are many references about the previous games in this one. And yes, Kratos made sure that his son doesn't know the truth about him and what he did in Greece.
I’ll always love the OG, but this one stands on its own in story and gameplay. And this game’s soundtrack is one of my FAVORITES; featuring one of my favorite artists at the forefront on vocals…Eivør. I look forward to seeing how this goes!
You should know that all the side quests are canon. There’s not a ubisoft amount so I’m sure you’ll finish them.
Now that you're on this entry, I've re-installed Rganarok
Also, this is the full prayer
‘Lo there do I see my mother, Lo there do I see my father, Lo there do I see the line of my people. Lo there do they call to me. They bid me take my place among them, in the hallowed halls of Valhalla, where the brave shall live forever.’
So let me tell you the short story if how Kratos ended in Norse mythology or Midgard cuz its not mentioned in the story. Its in the comics.
The story: Kratos after not dying in gow3 tried to get rid of his blades which chased him wherever he went. He throw his blade and went months without sleeping so the blade doesnt return but once he sleeps or just collapses out of sleeplessness the blade comes back to him with the visions. So he accepted the blades and just wandered the world for a long period of time until a women with hidden face and 3 giant wilfs cane and attacked Kratos. The wolfs Dragged Kratos and when Kratos woke up he was in midgard.
I shortened it too much but thats how it went If I remember the comics
oya imo you should put this on alert tag atleast until blaze see the cutscene IYKWIM. I mean yea he could just read the comic first , but imo it kinda ruined the moment of surprise you know. 🤔
Spoiler alert
incase for those who wondering how kratos got his Blade of Chaos back. (Both Blade of Athena and Blade of Exile is different weapons from Blade of Chaos). After killing Ares and taking his place as the God of War, Kratos gained all of Ares' weapons, including the Blades of Chaos, though he vowed never to use them again.
Think about it this way, Blaze. You felt the adrenaline while you were playing the saga. Now imagine Kratos' adrenaline in the moment during battle, and he's a trained warrior. Now throw in the madness, insanity, and blinding rage that had built up over the course of the saga in addition to adrenaline and training. It leaves very little room for thought.
YESSSSSSS FINALLY! Let’s go Blaze!
I think you'll really enjoy the story for the Norse games. Without getting into spoilers, you'll want to finish Ragnanok before doing the Valhalla DLC as it picks up the story after Ragnarok ends. I mention this as you can play the DLC before completing the game. Beyond that I'm looking forward to the rest of the Norse saga, keep up the amazing work!
IMO norse mythology kratos is my favorite, mostly cause it's no longer "angry man kills gods for revenge" here he actually has a reason to, plus he doesn't always chose to kill them right away.
1:50:00 Brok is my favorite character
Now he has become a calm and reasonable person
@@reakefit7304I see what you did there.
@@reakefit7304Nice reference
Tell me youv never played og gows without twlling me you never played og gows
On bro. Dude is yapping like the gods didn’t trick him into killing his family and didn’t erase those memories. Those were reasons lol
The thing I love about watching you play is your intuition. You're so good at understanding how the games are meant to be played. It's refreshing, really.
The weird o character "ð" is basically a "th". So stuff like the word Seiðor at 1:31:37 is just Seithor (Say-ther).
I think I might have warned you away from Give Me God of War difficultly way back, like several games ago. That's the one where even new game plus players get stuck on the tutorial fight sometimes. We're talking tanky enemies that all 2 shot you and can level up mid-fight. Every blind playthrough I've seen of people choosing this difficultly ends in them changing it an episode or two in.
When the gane was first shown off, there was a troll under the bridge, so Atreus expecting one is a refrence to that. Dont remember if it was a demo or just a bit of gameplay shown off though.
OOOO I'M SO EXCITED BUT ITS SO LATE HERE IN MY COUNTRY ima try to not fall asleep cause now I just can't wait till tomorrow lmao
Also Blaze, is the Shadow of the Colossus gameplay gonna be a series or just a one time like some other games in the channel?
Blaze's journey into Norse Mythology with Kratos and Atreus has begun! I'm so excited to watch your playthrough and experience with this game as always!
This playthrough is gonna be fun man.
Your fight against Baldur was really great and awesome, most of the other players fought Baldur usually die at least couple of times during the fight, while you on the other hand you just died just once, very impressive man new sub 😉👍
My biggest tip would be is to never be afraid to keep your distance and spam the axe throw. It'll keep you from dying while doing a bit of damage.
before the events of this game there was a comic where he went out into the and let himself be hunted by wolves only attacking to defend himself
Woooo!!! The journey continues! Can't wait for you to see the story and everything unfold. Make sure you check out the skills tab in the next part. Its a lot of good ones to help spice up the combat and it'll help later on. Also keep an eye out for more things to collect. There's a couple glowing green birds that you passed by. They make a sort of funny chirping noise when you're nearby.
47:28 Yeah I never liked the lock on in games either. It feels too unnatural like I'm being forced to look in only one direction. Hell I didn't even notice lock on was a thing in games like that until I accidently did it in this game and thought my game was glitching. I like being able to look around in any direction I want. Plus lock on kinda hurts you when fighting multiple enemies.
1:29:32 The green circle means that you can block or parry and red circle means you have to evade don't parry or get hit it takes a lot of health
1:01:04 when the doctor asks you “does this hurt?”
Dad of Boy is one of my favorite games!
These next 2 games are absolute masterpieces and your in for a ride, enjoy brother wish I could play this for the first time again
You missed a few Odin Ravens towards the end of the episode near Brok's shop
Quick clarification:
Yellow circles indicate a block breaker
The attack can be parried, but if you try to just block it, they will open you up and leave you vulnerable to a follow-up
Red circles indicate an unblockable attack
Try to block it, and you'll be told how stupid that was by the axe (or whatever they attacked you with) lodged in your face
One of the best things about the Norse duology is how it pays respect to the Greek games before it. You don't see that in a lot of game series nowadays.
Finally, I've been waiting for this play through, keep it up Blaze, you are my favorite! ❤
33:29 caught u missin a chest to the left of you haha
Pro tip: upraged atreus as much as possible. He eventually gets to a point a full quiver almost defeats an enemy
Yes.. Finally GOW 2018 Begins.. 😎😎
4:02 Blaze casually dropping the theme of the Norse games
FATHER HELP NO MY BOY
A thing about the norse God Of War games is that Kratos is holding back in them cuz he doesn't want to go down the path he did back in the greek games.
Damn your parries are good
28:48 He says that because in the demo that was shown at E3 this area had a massive troll might to show off the game
You should play the Darksiders games they are a lot like the God of War games and they have really great stories
Blades of chaos is what the ogs know them as lol
I love your videos bro, keep it up!! ❤🎉
Started up the game to play it beside you in hard difficulty again
Hi, I thought I’d let you know I haven’t watched a single video of yours in a long time, since for some reason I am not getting notis from your new uploads. I do have the bell turned on tho, something might be wrong with your channel.
btw this game is entirely made to looks like one shot. The camera doesn't cut to different angles.
Welcome to Dad of Boy
Finally, Get ready for the best story in gaming history
Baldur is the son of Odin & Frigg and the brother of Thor, Hodur and others in Norse Mythology. And he is the main villain in 2018's "God of War".
Yes just tell him everything, why don’t you spoil the ending for him too?
AC Unity DeadKings when ?
Yes finally 😊
Be sure to check out the skills tab.
51:03 I mean at least he didn’t kill this one
Yeah lord kratos is backk
Finally he got here
Let's goooo!
LORD THANK YOU
Heyy BBLAZE .. try to play the new game "WUTHERING WAVES" 🔥🔥
I dont get where people have the idea that younger kratos was a killing machine who didn't care. Yes he was angry and yes normal people no he didn't care about but kratos gave every god a Chance to leave him alone and Give him information to help so he can kill Zeus and They all threw it back in his face and either said fight me or tried to Manipulate him in some way. The only gods he didn't give a Chance to live was Ares,Zeus and Poseidon. The only difference is that now he gives them more than one chance 😂
Young kratos was still a sociopath 😂😂
He still lack empathy😂 the only time I see him actually have empathy is with Pandora because she was a kid or at least she seemed to be a kid.
@@brandyjohnson738 Kratos was still a Spartan 😂 they where trained since they were like 5 or 6 to be complete killing machines and it was literally survival of the fittest left alone as kids in the wilderness and told if they dont make it back they weren't strong enough to join the Army then the ones that did make it back that's when the real training began.
1:15:44 🤓 um actually he would've, you just ran ahead.
LETSSGOO BLAZEEE
A fact :- the dwarves that created the thors hammer also created the levithan axe to counter the hammer so the axe has the same power as the Thor 's hammer
Another fact: these are things that are very clearly explained in the game 🤗
Yes!
Please check out assassins creed valhalla
54:13 That person that you fought was baulder he is technically immortal
I think the developers called him “stranger” for a reason. Stop spoiling stuff. Let the man find out through the normal course of time.
OK and sorry
@@DebdeepChakraborty-ht5muin future if you write a spoilery comment, best thing to do is delete it or, give a spoiler warning
And post below like this

Finally
god of sar series is good
