graham coxon playing with duran duran? an impossible dream has come true.
amazing how his voice stayed practically the same over the years.
got btr i think
Unlike his hair
@@papapiers1588 yo i don’t think anyone’s hair ever stays the same over the years unless you use Nylon 😂
my feeling says that this is playback !
@@antoinebeauman not so sure Simon is pretty good live.Check out the Rio concert few years back ✌️
Duran Duran is one of the most iconic bands ever.
The coolest band on Planet Earth! :)
I’ve always been of the opinion that Duran Duran got a bit of a raw deal in that MTV sort of brought them to fame as a “sexy boy band” through their videos, but the truth of the matter is that they are supremely talented and creative.
In a lot of ways, they have not been allowed to break free from that stigma.
PS And by the way, I’m a straight man, and these guys are pretty damned good looking! Just sayin’.
Simon’s vocals are still incredible. This was great.
he is fuckin STILL murdering it, unreal, God love him
Still? Well🤔 He eventually gotten better.
Remember them how they looked in their "Shout" video. Yep, that's them.

@Dark Knight Hey there! We have seen DuranDuran live in Atlanta/GA/USA.... and it was live and it was great! Seriously! Yes, they are getting older and the voices need a little break between the songs... but away from that.. those guys did fantastic. The 80ties all over again! We couldn't believe how fit those guys are, dancing, singing all over the stage.
It's always great to hear songs that "sounds like" the 80s! Nothing can compare to true 80s and Duran Duran is pure 80s! They set the standard others followed! Originator not imitators!!
Thats so true.
Back when musicians could actually sing and play their instruments.
They’ve aged like fine wine. Still LOVE them.
unfortunately not
No they have aged pretty noticeably.
No thy didn't. Nick looks and moves like an old white woman.
@@blackturkdog I know I made that comment Facetiously. They haven’t aged well at all. 😔😳
@@danceswithcomics7127 yes they have. 😔
Sounds just like what’s on vinyl. Incredible. Get these guys in the Rock Hall of Fame.
Definitely amen!......👍
They seemed to definitely make that effort. Notorious was so close when it began, I thought they were lip synching.
I think that too
ikr. i thought he was lip synching lmao. he wasn't!
Not sure if you learned, but 5 November 2022 they got into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. It was amazing!
Simon's voice is absolutely crazy. I don't know what kind of magic potion or lotion these guys use to continue looking and sounding great, but they need to share their secrets. They are truly legendary.
auto tune I'm afraid
@@theclear536 well I know differnt. I think there is no auto tune any where with vocal.
@@gingerindian1141 he sings better than he did in 1986…how likely does that seem ?!
@@theclear536 Not at all
@@gingerindian1141 I saw Duran Duran live about five years ago and Simon's vocals ere very raspy. If you search any TH-cam videos of Duran Duran live performances in the last 10 years you'd know he no longer has that smoothness. He's lip synching here, or using auto tune, without a doubt.
Simons voice is on point and Graham is an amazing guitarist.
Real musicians playing real instruments and a singer with no auto tune. These guys still rock.
True
Are you sure?
@@gunnarliljas8459 Thats what I was thinking... it almost sounds too good for being live and has to have some studio enhancements

Simon's voice is amazing! 🤩
The 80's was the year of the greatest music ever because of them..
the 80s rule
ABSOLUTELY!!
Come on, they were great, but then there were so many others: Eurythmics, Culture Club, Pet Shop Boys, Wham, Queen, Depeche Mode and many other great bands and artists...Beautiful times
The entire decade even...I think they even named an album decade.. :p
@@SimonaFrone Yes of course many great bands in the 80s, but few of them stayed together 40 years.
I know Duran Duran had most of their hits in the 80s. But it drives me crazy that they are always referred to as that "80s band". Duran Duran never went away. They have had hits in every decade since then. I don't know that people call the Rolling Stones a 60s band. Duran Duran is just a great band that just keeps going and going, always challenging themselves with new sounds and influences
Duran Duran deserve to be in the Hall of Fame!
The rock and roll hall of fame need them. They do not need it.
And they are
Simon sounds the same as he did in the 80's, and John on that bass, OH MY GOODNESS! DURAN DURAN, GOTTA LOVE'EM!!!

@@garypayne3845 It sounded too good to be live .... although was it half playback? Did Simon sing live?
yes, yes....¡¡
@@piteusx8440 Yes, this was live. Simon and the band are old school. The only way you made it in the music business back in the day (late '70s to early '90s before pro tools and auto tune) was you were great live and in the studio.
One of the greatest band of our generation.

They are the best pop 80s band ever. Simon is a legend w/o a doubt
Wow, Graham Coxon with DD is an epic combination! So excited for the new album!
As a huge Duran fan and lifelong Blur fanatic, this for me is an absolutely brilliant performance. Graham Coxon is, in my book the best guitarist ever, as well as the coolest. Who would have thought Duran could get any better? 🙏🏻👍👊
I was wondering who that was on guitar! It didn't look like Dom or Mark Ronson...for a second I almost thought it might be Warren!
@@z0omerang I was wondering too, so I looked him up and in a couple of pictures he reminds me of John Oliver!
Hes ok and nothing more than ok. Andy Taor wrote these riffs and plays them better than any temp stand in. Dom Brown is the worst. This guy playing that you just re ered so much, is Harry awake and his timing was off several times during 3 songs. So yeah...he's not as good as Andy
@@neptunesjester4145 Coxon's timing off? not in this lifetime.
@@Stefano1875
Right?
Graham is one of the most inventive and talented guitarists over the last 30 years.
He might think the timing of the riff is off due to an odd mix for the broadcast. I think the guitar was too loud in the mix, should have been blended back a bit to match the volume of the keyboards.
Graham is going to stick out no matter what! He’s a nerdy looking dude mixed with everybody else wearing their suits and getups. But his resume is set in stone with Blur and his own awesome solo work.
Simon’s voice!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
yup...guy is ageless
Wow. Simon's voice and everyone's vocals/instruments sounds so clear and vibrant here. I guess not having an audience makes their performance stand out more because it's not drowned out by the audience noise. It really shows their musicianship and the guitarist/backup singers are also excellent with their really tight performance. Maybe this is a silver lining in the pandemic?
It's mimed to playback. Notice how far the backing vocalists are from their mics.
@@musicandfilms9956 It's obviously mimed. Now, It's mimed to a re recording....no doubt they recorded it recently.....but it's not live.

Fashion, looks and most of all musical talent oozing from their veins. What’s not to love? I have also been a long time fan. Thanks to my older sister who I shared a room with for several years growing up. I think she got me into Duran Duran when I was 5yrs old. Our room was wall to wall and ceiling covered in posters and magazine cut outs- centerfolds too. This was when they were at their peak in the early 80’s

dito :D They are still as fantastic as ever :D
Simon Le Bon is goi g to be 63 this October 27th and he still had the voice of his twenty-five year old self!
Been a Duranie since the beginning. Just like Simon said years ago, this is the band we’ll be listening to when the bomb drops. Keep it going Gentleman.
At authors reading for johns book, he was speaking at the stage about the band still got it and he sees no sign of any cracks, and I was smirking thinking cracks in the pavement in my head until I realized he was asking me directly from my seat above “Do you think we are still doing it alright ? “ I was in shock that he was calling on me and finally breathed out “yes of course!” I did not have my own book of his to have signed but I gave him a book with Roget Moore on the cover and he absolutely loved it and told me about when his mother and him met Roger once before he was in DD. We were holding up the signing line a bit so they had to cut him off and I got my event ticket signed instead. He is just the nicest guy in the world and I loved him since I was 4.
Waaay before my time. But Simon Le BonJovi has a great voice!!
@@moxie96 Awesome story! Roger Moore was the best James Bond. I had a friend who looked just like Roger when they were both at their peak, but this one married Miss Tennessee 1943. In the early 90s she used to make me crab apple jelly for my birthday. Probably the best food I ever put in my mouth!

TOTAL RESPECT TO THIS BAND !!!! !!!! !!!!
Simon's singing here ( I'm assuming it's live ) is fantastic and shames his rivals who are 30 years younger. A GREAT set !
I love these guys, but I seriously doubt that ANY of this was live. I think it was heavily edited & post-produced. There's no camera shot that ever stays on anyone long enough to discern if their playing matches what we are hearing.
Invisible is not live. It's what I assume is the album copy you can find on youtube. I believe the other 2 might be grabbed off of the All You Need is Now tour. Regardless, they are extremely good live performers.

Great performance, invisible is awesome.
Oh God!! Simon' s Voice rocks It ALL!!
I fell in love with the music of this band just prior to All You Need Is Now being released in 2011. I have been following them closely since then and now at age 24, I can say that they are without any doubt one of the most criminally underrated bands of all time. It's great to see them in top form here and I am thankful they are finally receiving the respect and recognition they deserve. Simon's voice sounds fantastic and hearing a real guitarist play with them (Graham Coxon from Blur) is a massive improvement. I love the new sound and can't wait to purchase the upcoming album. Invisible fits in nicely in my alternative rock playlist and many "kids" my age seem to enjoy their more recent work as well. Keep making great music, guys. Thanks for all you do!
I mean they have a couple of grammys and have sold over 100 million records. I'm not sure that's underrated. Maybe their new stuff is
Underrated? Back when I was your age they were one of the biggest band around. Their new music is hit or miss.
Underrated? Well, you couldn't escape them back in the early 1980's, there faces were everywhere around you all the time! :-)
I say underrated because they were written off as a "boy" band by music critics and really were not acclaimed as the talented musicians they are until the mid-90s. Today, they are regarded even more so but have yet to be inducted to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame while artists like Jay Z are being inducted in their first year of eligibility.
Your gonna 💜💜💜 BIG THING if ya haven’t already lol
